Amazing staff. Helped me solve a problem yesterday when I got my cork jammed in the wine bottle. Emily showed me how to solve the issue with the cork pretty quickly. Jasmine sold me the right tools for the job as well so this doesn't happen to me again. They really helped me and this is my local BevMo so it's a win win. It's a nice feeling to walk in there. This is a medium sized BevMo, located in the mostly empty Marketplace Long Beach Shopping Mall. There is plenty of parking. The inside is modern, with a good layout. Like other BevMo's, they have a ok selection of beers and we were able to pick up a 4 pack of Boddington's, which I have not drunk for a long time. (They also had Smithwick's which is not the most common beer either). Prices (and selection) are definitely better than your neighborhood liquor store. It's not a huge selection though, which was made clear that they don't have a walk-in cooler. They do have a loyalty program, and a smartphone app that can be used to check out prices and selection. read more

After having lunch at a nearby eatery I walked to this BevMo! to grab a bottle of wine to take home. This location, same as all locations, offers beer, hard liquor, and wine. Also some oddball sodas. The wine selection, while basic, covers all the bases. The more popular types of wine have more robust options while less popular types have few or none. The offerings are better than the grocery store or quickie mart, no doubt. I was cheerfully greeted the moment I walked through the door and proceeded to look for a bottle of Chianti Classico. The aisles are well marked and I walked along a couple of aisles seeing signs for domestic wines like Syrah, Cabernet, Zinfandel, etc. then wines from other countries - Spain, France...but no Italy. I went to the cashier to ask where Italian wines were located and she happily abandoned her register for a moment to lead me to the one aisle I somehow didn't traverse. I felt like an idiot but was grateful for her quick and enthusiastic assistance. There were a large variety of options to choose from and I found one that my wine app assured me was an excellent chianti at a good price. Once again BevMo satisfied my needs. read more

My husband and I are people that are continuously entertaining so we buy a lot of wine. This is my fifth visit to this location and the last two times I was there. I got the worst customer service ever. I bought some wines that were buy one at the regular price and get the other one for five cents, and the girl made a mistake and the manager came out. I didn't catch her name but she goes by he she her pronouns or they. When they came to the register did not introduce say hello sorry for the inconvenience. Nothing I will no longer be visiting this location. The staff there are extremely rude are just not helpful. read more

My boyfriend and I shopped at this BevMo location last night, December 19th and had an awful experience. Upon entering, we were not greeted. Instead, we were HEAVILY monitored and treated like thieves, rather than paying customers. This incident occurred around 7:40 PM and involved three BevMo employees - a brunette white male around 5'5, a blonde white female, and a Hispanic male working the register. Although no words were exchanged, all three employees consistently watched us. As we moved to various parts of the store (we were shopping for an upcoming Christmas party), we were never asked if we needed help, so that forced us to wander the store more. Apparently this "activity" is suspicious, and warranted one employee to coincidentally walk in the same areas as us in the store. We understand there's a rise in theft, but that does not make it ok to stereotype people of color. read more

They advertise they sell low alcohol beer, under 3.5%, but when you get there, their selection is trash. Whoever or whatever is doing the ordering for that location is not good at what they do. I've been visiting this particular location for years, since I moved to Long Beach. Service and selection have varied, but I have mostly had positive experiences, until my most recent visit. There was some new guy working the register, named Donovan. He has a rude, snarky attitude. He asked to check my ID, and then made disparaging remarks to me about my age. I worked as a cashier in adult beverage sales for years, and the only appropriate conversation with customers was asking if they found everything OK, and whether they were having a good day. Nobody needs to pay money to be disrespected. Meanwhile, there was a huge, slow line, and management was too busy fooling around with inventory to notice. I'll just go to Pavilions next time...the employees are much less obnoxious, and much more capable. read more

I've been trying to use my gift card for $100 I received from my birthday a year ago at the Long Beach location. Every time I go these past 3 visits they would not accept gift card letting me know that the system was down. I can't believe after a whole year, they have not fixed their system. The cashier even explained to me that they took down their sign that they accept gift cards, so in other words, they have no intentions of ever accepting gift cards. After asking to speak to a manager. Her solution was to either go to another store or shop online.. I ended up going to Lakewood location, and their manager, Michelle was very empathetic to my situation, and made sure that my card was accepted at their store. read more

This is the worst BevMo I have visited in a long time, probably ever, and I frequent these stores a lot. The employee there Bee was absolutely horrible. They were rude and condescending and treated me like I was a thief in the store for simply looking around. Gauging by the other reviews left this seems to be a common theme here - employees glaring at you when you come in rather than having a warm and friendly attitude and offering to help you (also crazy considering this is an affluent area of seal Beach, not the slums like these employees treat it or at least the customers- that is how they treat them) Considering it is the holidays you think employees would be maybe a little more nice, but Bee was extremely rude and unhelpful. I've worked in customer service for 10+ years and if they were my employee they would no longer have a job. I will no longer be coming to BevMo here because of Bee. They need to be retrained in customer service or simply fired. And I don't leave many reviews, but I felt so strongly about my interaction that I wanted to share. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Jamal is absolutely the best BevMo employee i have encountered. We stopped at the marketplace to charge the car and strolled through the open patios to window shop. We spotted the BevMo and went inside to look for wine. I always enter and ask about Blanton's (my absolute favorite) they never have it and it's super rare to find. Very helpful employees at the front, but they said it is really hard to keep around and they never know when it will be available again. Feeling frustrated we continued down the aisle, just bummed that they didn't have any. Apparently one employee was quietly listening and took the initiative to jump in and actually look in the back. Jamal surprised me saying "this must be your lucky day". He presented a bottle of Blanton's from behind his back. I mean so considerate, very gracious of Jamal to take the effort to help a customer. Jamal is an allstar employee, very helpful and he provided the most excellent customer service to me. Dan is seriously the man here!!! Super helpful and followed through with helping me out. I submitted an order online and asked for a pick up window within an hour. I was on a time crunch so I called right when the window started and asked Dan if I could pick up right away. He had one of his associates pack up the order and it was ready within 15 mins of my drive! I really wanted a specific brand of whiskey they were having a sale on (Uncle Nearest), which they unfortunately ran out of at this location by the time I got there. Dan helped me look up and actually call different locations and ask the associates to put the whiskey on hold for me. He really didn't have to, but he called 4 different stores and finally secured me a bottle! Thanks so much to Dan, I definitely will come back to this location! read more

Call if you have a long drive. I ordered a specific stout beer online because this BevMo said they had 5 in stock. I ordered the Stout versions however they only had the ale version instead and said it was the same sku. It was not the same beer and is entirely a different product. So if you are giving your customer a different beer (stouts aren't ales) then don't sell it and definitely don't give me a confirmation that I have a stout when it's a ale. I'm being generous with 4 stars because the lady was super nice and apologized about it. I drove 30 mins and spent a lot of time and gas for nothing to get my order only to find out it was not what I ordered. read more

I've been screwed over twice at this place. Did a online order (over $250) and I go to pick it up. The guy comes out with 2 closed boxes and puts it in my car . Luckily I looked and I had 2 missing items. I go back in the store and tell the guy my item's are missing. He says oh it's s probably because we don't have it. I go and look and the item is there. Then he's like oh. No sorry miss. Total Bs! My hubby goes and gets the individual fireball bottles. It comes in a 10 pack but the guy opens up the package and charges him individually. Wth. the website charges u for a 10 pack but the store charges you individually. This place is joke with workers who don't give a damn. Screw them I'm shopping elsewhere. My 2nd or 3rd visit to this location , like last visits I got disappointed again with limited selections , uncompetitive prices / long waiting lines for check out , a very non sense thing which is still going on called their BS put together club pricing ! they require you to have your cell phone # to register , also for those in my neighborhood of 2nd & pch there are few other spots within walking distance to this put together establishment , like ralphs , gelsons , whole foods , trader joes & other local mom and pop liquor spots , their selections might not carry everything as bevmo but surely they are as competitive or little lesser priced than this put together establishment in most items they have in stock , another thing about this establishment I experienced is they advertise items on their confusing website showing available at the store with zip code close by when you go to that store , it is sold out !!! or only available to online order !!! , For those who might not be in rush & don't mind to drive few miles up to LB town center where closest TOTAL WINE MORE store which got much much better selections in STORE stock AND has much much LOWER pricing than put together establishment called bevmo & TOTAL WINE MORE does not require like bevmos put together club price bs membership , TOTAL WINE MORE staff are much much more knowledgeable , much politer and have quicker check out stands . BIG Mike the wedding guy at Bevmo awesome! I am purchasing alcohol for my wedding and he was very accomondating and it has been a smooth experience so far. Free Delivery for orders over $500. Our drinks will be chilled inside a super cold fridge until the time of delivery. This is reassuring that our guests will not have to drink warm drinks. I will update after the wedding to let you all know how it turned out. I chose Bevmo over Costco because of this great customer service. Costco has cheaper beer and liquor but you can't beat the wine deals and customer service here at Bevmo. Parking: plenty of spots since it's not closed to trader joes. read more

Went in this location after lunch on Sunday. When I went in, two employees glared at me but never greeted me. I was looking for something in a glass case right in front of the little manager/supervisor area by the door. Again, the young man standing literally feet from me never greeted me or even acknowledged me. I indicated that I wanted to see something in the case and he just walked off. I received a gift certificate to BevMo and thought it would be a great location to pick up some Irish beers for St. Patrick's Day. Although they were helpful in helping me find their limited selection, it was at the register that card so much grief. I used my gift card and then to finish the transaction their system froze. Two employees tried several things that took multiple minutes before they got on a telephone call with the store manager. Even after talking to the store manager, they decide to go to another register and re-enter everything and just take off an amount equal to the card that I had. The difference in the totals between the two transactions was rather large. It was about $17 difference. I brought this to the attention to the clerk who stated the card probably was not able to be used unless the input a BevMo member number. Then proceeded to ask me if I wanted to get a BevMo card from him. I don't know how much time that was gonna take but I already put in close to seven or eight minutes in just waiting to finish my transaction. The last place I would want to come back to BevMo to relive this experience. The customer service of trying to satisfy their errors and equipment was substantial. I would rather overpay to make a quick exit on this one-and-done store. If I am ever gifted a BevMo card in the future, it will go into my regift pile. read more

I wish there was a Bev Mo app. that listed everything they carry so when you are in an obscure restaurant, you can type in whatever deliciousness you are sipping on and be reassured that you can pick some more up at Bev Mo. So most of you know that Bev Mo carries all kinds of wine, beer and cocktails along with snacks, tableware and basically whatever you need for a cocktail party or backyard kegger =) I wandered in most recently looking for Maui Brewing Company's Coconut Porter and sure enough, they had it! I also picked up some Bikini Blonde which is smooth and light and ultra-delicious. Located in a fairly large shopping plaza, BevMo is a breath of fresh air within the giant cloud of shallow SoCal atmosphere. (Go ahead, get ur pitchforks out! -----E) It's true. This shopping plaza was our first stop in the Cal down under, and the first thing we noticed was that everything was a fitness center, a workout center, a smoothie shop, a vitamin detox shop, some physician office of some sort sporting ads about health and fitness, and Lulumelon type clothing shops. The vegan cafes are great for me, but the dozens of women holding a yoga mat under one arm and wheeling out "organic" meat in their Trader Joe's cart makes me think the "Plant-based" diet is popular, not veganism. So then you have Bevmo, you walk by and barely notice it, until the automatic double doors open in front of you and the mixture of powerful Air Conditioning and malted yeast draws you in. In here, you will find fellow beer enthusiasts, who won't mind drinking on a Monday afternoon because why the hell not. 5 cent wine sales because grapes are cheaper than fruit smoothies.
