Serena was very nice, friendly and knows the inventory. it had been a long time since I was in a BevMo and apparently from the GOPOFF acquisition (? franchise?) , they no longer have my sign-up details for the club. Serena was able to give me the club rate as a courtesy, since we tried so many numbers... so that was cool. what i did not like is the change with BevMo. this "gopoff " thing has the store stocked with more snacks, supplies and weird sundries that i would not expect in a big box liquor store. it's awkward and weird. And it would be great to see shelves filled with more unique liquor items and better priced wines than a box of Kleenex or a child's toy or a pack of pencils or bottle of mouthwash or tampons... it was weird. I didn't take the time to investigate what GOPOFF is, but from my brief analysis, it looks like a liquidator company or a maybe a franchise and the owners decided it was a good idea to put a random CVS section in their store. I would venture to say that if the space was a 25sf warehouse/storefront, they've got 15% of it filled with non-alcohol related random crap. Gave it a little "dollar store" feel. it reads like a desperate cry of the retailer to get sales with alcohol consumption generally down in the United States. I'd rather a smaller specialized store than a bigger space filled with 'stuff'. Anyway, at least it was clean and i got what we needed. read more

Came here really quickly on the way to six flags magic mountain to take a few shots before! The workers here are pretty cool and very friendly. Was able to point me in the right direction for some liquor that I haven't tried before! I was recommend the moonshine and it was awesome! The managers here are so unprofessional and rude. The ambience is chill but the managers and the poor customer service is just horrible.

I don't make a habit of going to stores on holidays, or popular shopping days, but sometimes you forget that oooone last item you need and BAM! you realize it's the eve of Christmas. So hoist up your big girl pants, bite the bullet, pack your patience and remember all that "good will toward man" stuff as you head into the trenches. Walked through the door around 1pm and saw the checkout line wrap around the store. Store itself not really too busy so, ok. Found the tequila section, made my selection and headed for the line. 19 mins later I was out the door with my purchase. Store staff was friendly, smiling, efficient and thanking people for their time and patience. There are only two registers, because they rarely need more than one, so what more can they do. Shelves were as stocked as possible and inventory seemed pretty good. The experience was better than I anticipated, so I would return. Cheers! CC read more

Don't waste your time going here if you have any questions requesting recommendations etc because I talked to 2 different employees today asking for recommendations for low calorie drinks and the first employee wasted busy to help so he called another employee who had no knowledge for recommendations at all. I ordered some alcohol online because my local store didn't have what I wanted. Today I went down to the Santa Clarita BevMo to pick it up and the clerk said he, "HAD TO TAKE A PICTURE", of my drivers license with his cell phone before giving me my order. I am a 75 year old woman so there is no mistaking if I'm over 21! As soon as I said no he disappeared and two other young women tried to process my order. Aside from feeling like he was trying to scam me, this BevMo "company policy" is just wrong - on so many levels. Plus, it opens them up for a huge liability on identity theft. Maybe even a class action lawsuit. Because this was a credit card purchase the laws on what a merchant can ask for to verify identity are very clear. I have never had a shopping experience as absurd as what happened this morning. I arrived about 10 minutes after 9, when they were supposed to be open, and I noticed a woman standing there with the store still closed. I asked if she knows if they would be opening soon and she said that their lead hadn't shown up for work yet. I decided to give it about 10 more minutes hoping that the lead was just running a little behind but to no avail. There were many other customers waiting as well as drivers and I figured I'd get better service elsewhere. I saw them make many attempts to reach the person who was in charge while I was there but there was no answer from their end. I don't know who they are putting in charge of opening this store but whoever that lead or opening manager was needs to be fired or trained better. I was killing time with my son and decided to check out BevMo. They greeted us nicely when we came in. So much too look at!! I am not a drinker and either is my husband but there was lots of cool looking bottles that caught my eye. If you can't find what you are looking for in here, it's not a thing. This place has beer, wine , hard liquor, snacks, cheese and meats. One stop shop. The prices seemed high to me, but again I am not a drinker. Saw some really neat skull bottles that I would like to have to add to my collection. Lots of Mini bottles organized really nice. If I was having a party I would definitely shop here. Store was clean, organized and huge. Only saw one other customer in the store. Not sure if this is a slow location or the time of day I was there. read more

Had to stand in line while the clerk chatted with another clerk and a customer who was perusing wine bottles near the register. After about 5 minutes I asked if we could check out while the other customer was still shopping. So the lady in front of me proceeded. When I got to the register the clerk asked for ID. At first I thought she was joking because I'll be 75 next month. She said something about a corporate policy. I said goodbye. We all have to give away a lot of privacy but to make a simple purchase? I enjoy BevMo! and come in often for my beverages. Sadly today was a questionable experience with service. Aside from have a long wait in line the cashier Chris was not all there in my opinion. Communication was lacking, to low of a tone could not hear him nor did he greet me when I entered the store. Nor did I see any type of greeting to others, while I was waiting in line. Appearance wise his face masked look like it was not washed for sometime, possibly just because it was white and gets dirty quickly. His latex gloves were torn and he just wore them like there were no others in the store. Then was his focus. He failed to ask me for my phone number to link my account. Not a minute passed and he forgot if the receipt he place down was mine. He could not figure out how to place 2 bottles in a bag and stand them up. I've always had a love, hate relationship with this location. Mostly to do with the lack of customer service by certain employees. Although this has gotten better since my last review. Recently, they have started a policy of scanning identification at the register. I have no problem showing my ID to buy alcohol. I understand BevMo has to do their due diligence. Although any reasonably intelligent employee can tell by my full head of gray hair and a lifetime of hard earned wrinkles on my face, that I'm clearly over 21. I also confess, I do not know if this is part of any new state laws; however, this is the only location that has ever required me to scan my ID. The problem I have with scanning my ID is I don't know what information is being captured. Does it capture my ID number, signature and photo? In a world overrun with identity theft, scams, and data breaches, am I supposed to trust BevMo and their employees with my personal information? This policy is also inconsistently enforced depending on which employee is behind the register. There's nothing written at the register that tells me what information is being scanned or what it is used for. So once again, I will take my business elsewhere. The Valencia store is well managed and I never deal with any type of nonsense there. There's also a recently opened Total Wine and More on that side of town. In comparison, Total Wine and More makes BevMo the Kmart of alcohol sales ( yes, I just dated myself.) read more

I don't know why BevMo hires people with zero personality and zero mathematical skills. Normally I don't care, but I was forced to deal with Brian the cashier. He barely spoke above a whisper, I tried to give him change to round up the number. He tells me, oh I already input it and I can't roundup your change. Mm ok.... This store is grossly OVERPRICED! For example, a bottle of Spey River single malt scotch whisky is $49+ at this store whereas if you Google Spey River single malt scotch whisky, it is $29 or less at every other establishment. I'd give it less than a one star if I could but one is the minimum so unfortunately they're getting a one I would give them a negative one at least waited in line. Their prices were wrong for a customer prior to me. Almost $70 difference of the end from what I could hear in the conversation when I finally got to the line several people working in there weren't helping finally when I made it to the cash app to check out, they asked me for ID which I showed them, but they wanted to scan it. You're a fool. If you let someone scan your ID it builds a database on what you consume there's none of their business in a free country. I will never go back to BevMo, based on this reason alone. This place needs to go. It's like one step up from an AM p.m. prices aren't even that great, wine and more blows this out of the water. My prediction is within a year. This place will be gone and replaced with an upscale type store. Another post stated the claims child for ID for buying soda pop, verifies this is a communist style chain who gathers information, for what I do not know. Was having dinner with a buddy of mine across the parking lot at Habit burgers and after he asked if we had time to stop in. Told him no problem since I was out of bourbon anyway so I would like to get some. This location is never crowded and the bourbon is right up front so it was easy to find, make a selection and take off. The bourbon was on sale so double bonus, close and on sale. There was a nice cashier, didn't catch her name was was very friendly. We requested an order of a high end Milagro tequila that they didn't have. They said it would be a week. It's been 4 weeks and we've stopped in a couple of times to ask about it. 5 stars for being unique. Talk about a great collection and a superb variety of drinks! BevMo has it all! All sorts of beer, wine, liquors, hard drinks... you name it! This is where you find the rare stuff to impress your friends or loved one's with. Many of times they have deals on wine where you pay full price for one bottle and pay a penny for a second of equal or less value. Prices here are about average in comparison to the price you would pay for the same type of drink (ie Grey Goose) at a retail store like Vons or Ralphs. Again, this is where you go to find the unheard of, rare, import stuff that no one else has. They have complimentary items as well to go with your drinks like crackers, cheese, snacks and candy. So I have always loved BevMo. I live close by a location and frequently stopped in to pick up new wines, beers, or liquors to try. So I was quite surprised this week when I walked in and didn't recognize the store, which had gone from being spacious and comfortable to packed and awkwardly crowded. And then I realized that the entire right hand side of the store was now groceries. Groceries! There was a shelf of cereal near automotive supplies (jumper cables!), a wall of frozen food, and a full shelf of pet supplies. Meanwhile, the alcohol had been squeezed onto the left side of the store. I have since learned that the company was bought recently and is being turned into a digital convenience store, with "immediate" delivery of a variety of things. It is clear that the store is no longer focused on alcohol and the selection is already suffering. What a shame. I guess I'll be spending more time at Total Wine. read more

Worst bevmo, worst customer service. The blonde cashier that probably gets $9 an hour has a bitch face, and hates her job. They send me email promotions all the time spend $100 get $15-$20 off. I got a bottle of ace of spades, Dom P, beers. They didn't wanna honor the discount, saying they don't ever have such promotions, offers, rude staff manager JERRY is the most arrogant, idiot manager you can speak to, his unhelpful and almost like talking to a brick wall. The matter isn't the $15-$20 promotion all I care about after spending $600 plus, lack of customer service, Rudeness. I will make sure this man learns his lesson cause his 9-5 won't last long.
