I have to say that this was the BEST tours I have ever been on. I have visited many historic sites that include tour guides, but I have never met someone who was as knowledgeable, passionate and eager to relay that energy on to their guests as Jeff and Sarah were! I am not a huge fan of ghost tours, so I was delighted to find this group. Jeff composed a tour around Salem based on the history of the city, rather than looking for ghosts. I learned more on this 2 hour tour than I have in semester long courses in college. Jeff is the originator of this tour and had a trainee with him, Sarah. She was a very pleasant guide! What a great tour! We did the 3 PM tour this past weekend. It was myself and my daughter (19). Our tour guide was Sarah and originally, I was a little worried as our tour group was large (I would say over 30 ppl) but Sarah was a FANTASTIC tour guide! I think that it is really difficult to keep a large group like that with varying ages engaged for two hours but she did a great job! Our first time in Salem and we decided to do the historic tour with Bewitched tours. We had Jobian as our tour guide and we were lucky!! He was very personable and very very knowledgeable. We could tell from the start that he was extremely passionate about the history of Salem and it showed throughout the tour. Rather than telling us the same gimmicky stories that may or may not be true, Jobian told us the true history of Salem and the witch trials and he truly made it come alive. He did an amazing job explaining the context surrounding the events in Salem and connecting them with trends that we can see in today's world. Jeff is a fantastic tour guide. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Salem after dark with Jeff and would definitely recommend this. My only negative would be the actual store itself where you buy the tickets. I went into the store around 1 hour prior to the tour and was told that it was "sold out". We then went online and bought them anyway and when we showed up for the tour, Jeff told us that he usually has 50 people or more per group and there was only 10 in ours. The lady in the store was unfriendly and not helpful. Thanks to her, we almost went elsewhere for a tour. I'm so glad we didn't. Jeff and the tour was awesome and I give it 5 stars. read more

My mom and I have been coming to Salem every October for the last seven years. We've taken many walking tours, and usually what I enjoy most is being able to walk around areas that we don't usually know how to get to, or things we haven't seen before. Usually we do ghost tours, but I signed up for this one to try something different. While this tour focuses a lot on the Witch Trials, our guide Sara did an excellent job of weaving much more of Salem's history throughout. Her buddy Charles also did a great job of keeping us safe from traffic and such. This tour is well paced, packed with information, but what makes it especially different was Sarah was able to bring more of the personal stories and humanity (or lack of) during the Trials to light. I think so often when we're learning about history it's easy to feel removed from what happened, and lose personal connection with what people endured. This was the first tour I went on where I was affected by what was being said; I actually got choked up in a few spots. I wholly recommend this tour, and I'll definitely be back. Mixed in with the tourist shops and kitschy souvenirs, this is the real deal. read more

The tour was very fact based rather than the hokey "spooky" tours the city is known for. Everything was presented in an intriguing manner that was equally entertaining and informative. The historical tour (not a ghost tour) of Salem has been a very enjoyable experience, even for us being just tourists from Italy with a limited knowledge of American history. It's a full two hours tour, but you don't get to walk too much so it's really for everyone (we even had one person in crouches in the group and she didn't appear to have any problem keeping up). Allison was a great guide, she basically knew everything on the subject and the tour helped us better understand the real story behind the "witch city" of Salem... (and she even tipped us off a great spot for dinner since it was late and we didn't want to look around too long). 100% recommended! read more

There are several options for night time tours of Salem and Bewitched After Dark should be first on your list. It was such an informative experience, you could really tell the guide (Jovian) was passionate about the Salem community and it's rich history. Jovian was personable and quite knowledgeable when answering all our questions. If you only have time for one tour, make it this one. read more

I've done my share of ghost tours. In the right hands those can be a lot of fun, particularly when actual history is mixed in with the local folklore and legends. However, in a town like Salem I am glad we opted for the one tour that is 100% history and not "look for the face in the window after you snap your picture" type of tour because the real history of Salem is chilling enough--not in the supernatural sense, but in the scarier how people can devolve and treat each other sense. If you want a ghost tour with snark, jump scares and all that look elsewhere but if you want to walk the town of Salem guided by knowledgeable tour guides---I believe our guide was named Scott and he did an excellent job--and learn the history of the town, the location of buildings and events long gone, see what the old buildings that still stand are today and hear as much of the story as possible in a couple of hours then Bewitched After Dark is for you. Despite having been handed maps (from another source) of the town that were supposed to have all of the necessary stops listed we found due to this tour that most of those maps omit some of the most important historical stops (like the cemetery, the Witch Trial Memorial, the old jail, the court house, etc.) maybe because they don't charge! Glad we found such stops on tour with Bewitched. Great way to see Salem at night and we revisited most of the stops the next day in the light for photos. Highly recommended for history buffs, tourists, and anyone who wants to hear some of the real scoop on Salem. read more

Sarah was awesome- she gave it her all and was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic even on her very last tour of the season after having given 70+ tours! It was raining a good bit tonight and it didn't even phase her so we as a group barely noticed. I knew a good bit going into it but I learned so much. The walk wasn't obnoxiously long and it was well laid out. I am from out of town and unfortunately hurt my foot the first day in the area and I was still able to keep up with everything fine. The microphone was a great touch as we could all hear her very well. I loved how respectful she was of the witch trial victims. It's always a lot of fanfare surrounding the history and she kept it to the facts, and knew things about every single victim and made sure to stop at each of their stones on the memorial. I usually love ghost tours but this was super refreshing and they've done a fantastic job on this tour! Sarah is awesome!! read more
