This was my first time here and I ran in to pick up a particular item last minute so I didn't have time to browse though I wanted to. It's significantly larger than another store with similar offerings with a large produce and frozen food section. I grabbed the spice I wanted which was very reasonably priced and went to the only cashier to check out with cash in hand. Another person was checking out ahead of me and the customer and cashier were chatting. This took a few minutes but I patiently waited. When I paid, I should have received a bit of change along with two dollars. The cashier shrugged and said she had no coinage. Huh? So I didn't want them (small business) to pay credit card fees for such a small purchase and this is what happens? It's not the money but the principle. Let people know you want plastic only or make sure you can make change. I said nothing and left but it makes me think about going there again. If so. I'm paying with plastic. read more

Rude staff - when asked which days they get their fresh produce on. The lady at the counter responded snidely that everyday they get fresh produce. She could have just responded with I don't know. Come on, even, Whole Foods or large grocery stores can tell us the days when they get deliveries of fresh produce/fish etc. Carts - their carts are kept in a stupid haphazard manner, causing injury to people or damage to cars. Why can't they keep their carts inside or provide alternate options. This is plain stupidity. Cleanliness - I agree with some other people on shop being dirty. But seems ok some days. It's a hit or miss. Pricing - Some items are priced higher than nearby stores - but given the other negatives, don't think there is any value add that justifies the higher pricing. This store used to be good, but has turned lousy over the past year. They don't stock fresh items as they used to, and I found them selling expired eggs and milk at full price. I had to call their equally incompetent checkout clerk to show it, and she was unapologetic, and said to not buy if I don't like the expired date on the milk. In addition they have started charging for bags and explain that this is good for environment, even though 99% of the stuff on their shelves are packed in plastic. Hypocritic store with lousy management and clerks. Avoid this store. read more

We don't normally go to this store as it is a bit away from me. They have updated hours due to Covid, but I was very disappointed to see that they are doing nothing else to encourage social distancing to protect their customers. The store didn't even suggest people to wear masks while shopping there. Several customers were not wearing masks. I saw a couple employees wearing masks but not all. There was only one cashier and around 5-6 customers waiting around very nearby to check out. There was no social distancing at all nor any signs anywhere suggesting to do so. Yikes! Even the shopping carts outside were not in good order. Several of them had some trash to some empty plastic bags in them. I tried to take a cart but it was stuck together with another cart. The second cart was in the same position. I finally found one further away by a parked car. At this time of Covid crisis, like other stores do, this store should at least take the responsibility to either sanitize their shopping carts for the safety of their customers, or provide sanitizing wipes. There was also tons of uncleared trash laying around the carts. Very unsanitary! I don't think I'd want to go to this store again anytime soon, if at all!! read more

This is a regular go to store for me to buy Indian grocery. I have been visiting this place for almost 4 years now and feel that u can find most of the stuff. The vegetables are fresh and you can find many varieties of Indian fruits which you cannot get in any other Indian store. The prices of some of the items can be more than other stores but it's ok since you get all the options at a single place. During festivals they give discounts on many items which is good to shop during those days. For returns it can be a bit cumbersome. So before billing it's better to make sure everything is ok. read more

Excellent selection of foods, including dried and frozen varieties. The aisles are spacious, and the store is easy to navigate. I wish they opened earlier in the morning than 10am, but that's a personal preference. read more

The Bhavani food mart is essentially good grocery store in that they do carry a wide variety of Indian groceries and vegetables. However, the staff at the checkout counter can be really ignorant (except for a young lady who is professional). I was at this store on Monday the 26th of June. the cashier, a young man, rather short, was upset with me as I asked him to check me out and I think he was closing the counter. There were only 2 cashiers and the store was very busy. This cashier literally started throwing my stuff into the shopping bags including my receipt. Needless to say I was pissed off and gave the cashier a piece of my mind. I shop here only if I do not have time to get the Himalayan grocery in the Marchwood shopping center. Only place to get Indian vegetables in Exton. Veggies aren't that fresh so cook within 3 days at the max. Coming to rice/dal /pulses , they are old stock I guess . I always end up throwing them after a while because of bugs. Please check your receipts every time, Sometimes they make mistakes with the prices and we end up paying more. I prefer buying groceries in New Jersey. Wish it was little closer. read more

Decent store with limited collection of items. I would not have written this review but what ticked me off is that they sell stale samosas with potato filling that have gone sour. Vegetables on most of the days - a good place to buy Pre packed snacks and groceries - generally none of the items will have expiry date or already expired. I stopped buying these items long time back Freezer items - I buy only if I find expiry dates, otherwise I would skip. There are more varieties to choose, but risky as mentioned, no dates. My regular goto place for indian grocery. Fresh veggies, indigenous food variety . Clean aisles, Quick checkouts. Some air tight packages are pricked with pins to flatten them do it can be stacked conveniently. This sometimes causes the pack yo leak/break. read more

I went to store for buying vegetables and I noticed trash and cleaning items placed next to potatoes and flies/insects are all over the place. In a polite was I asked one of the store associate , how can you leave trash near food products and flies are all over the place . He responded after two minutes and he said don't raise the voice. Then he started removing the stuff and manager came by and said that they are taking all the precautions for removing flies. Then I was trying to explain him about trash , he responded saying that :" this is my store and I will keep my stuff where ever I want . In arrogant voice he asked me get out of store . Both the store associate and manager almost try to beat me . I asked manager to review the video footage and he said there is no video , and get out of video. Many food items are about to expire. Price of the products (that are available in rest of the stores of the same brand) are always costlier. And today I opened a samosa pack- that we had bought recently, to find it with Mold. We checked for an expiration date and we can't find any. But we did find a month 01/15 with some extension like this- 01/15-12768. #16275--R7. We just hope that this does not go back to January of 2015. Nowadays we go there to buy some products that are necessary and can't find in other stores, and even coming out with 3 to 4 food items, the bill is always above 25-30 dollar (and almost every-time) . read more
