Added a wedding shower here and loved my experience. My venue is spacious and beautiful with elegant decorations, comfortable furniture, and helpful staff throughout. In particular, the staff here is very professional and is able to quickly clear plates and provide items, while being very good about not interrupting conversations. The setup of the room that we were in was very conducive to efficiently serving almost 150 people without lots of cross traffic, and isolating noise within the room enough that it wasn't excessively noisy even during the busiest time of the event. I liked the setup of the bar in the corner as well, as a nice open dedicated spot to gather for coffee, water, and alcoholic beverages. The food we had was very good as well, definitely freshly prepared and tastier than what I expect for banquet food. The trays were prepared very nicely with lots of color and good arrangement. The textures were also quite good across the board for all items I tried- for example, the chicken was tender, fruit was plump, and vegetables were juicy. My husband and I went to Biagio Events and Catering for a wedding shower. We had a great time. This is a great place for a shower, reception, party, or wedding. There is free valet parking. They served a brunch menu. There was a waffle bar, omelette bar, salad, chicken, potatoes, sausage, bacon, and a dessert station. The food came out and was ready to be served on time. The food was warm and tasted amazing. I highly recommend the chocolate cannolis. The bar was open for the entire party. The servers asked if I was finished before taking my plate. We went to an after Funeral lunch at this place on Saturday and were assigned to one of the many rooms used here for wedding banquets , birthday parties etc. The rooms here are capable of being expanded via huge door ways that open up to allow the creation of a larger venue. The servers brought out pitchers of water , coffee , and soda. Shortly thereafter bread and butter were brought to the table. After everyone was seated the servers brought out bowls of chicken rice soup. It was very good. Next , the servers brought out plates of hot food ... Chicken , Sausage , Mostaccioli , and potatoes. So we dig in and the mostaccioli was good. Next , the chicken was very good , so too the sausage. All in all it was a very good dinner. The food was delicious and left us satisfied. This would be an excellent venue for a wedding reception as the rooms are large enough to accommodate any size group from large to small. There is ample parking available to accommodate a large wedding party. Parking is Free. Sorry , didn't think to snap any photos of this place but it is a nice place. I cannot praise this company enough. On 4/13 I booked them only 2 days before my event and Zaneta worked swiftly with me via phone and email to confirm my order. They dropped off the food right on time despite there being a break in to one of their bars. Thankfully the food was intact and I wish I had money to tip the deliverer but I gave him macarons instead from my desserts table. The food was absolutely amazing! The pulled pork with brioche buns, spaghetti and meatballs, macaroni and cheese and shrimp scampi were all a hit!!!! A lot of inquiries were made and I shared their info with everyone. Biagio Events was the first and only reception venue we looked at, and it was absolutely the right choice! It offers all the convenience of a banquet hall while having the aesthetics of a modern loft space (Michelle/Caroline rooms). We knew we didn't want the hassle of booking a million vendors, so it was so great that our food, drink, cake, decor, and lighting were all through Biagio's. We worked with Zaneta, who did an amazing job walking us through our food and decor options. Pricing was always clear and transparent, and Zaneta helped us add on a chocolate fountain and late-night bites so we would meet our food minimum (and our guests LOVED these add-ons). Everything looked beautiful, and our guests keep saying that they've never been so well fed at a wedding. The servers and bartenders were also very friendly and helpful. Attended a luncheon banquet here in a party of 450 people and was very disappointed with the food. The main dish consisted of a fatty piece of bland steak with chicken that also lacked taste. Potatoes were hard and vegetables tasted like vinegar. The appearance of the hall was beautiful, and I was very surprised by the quality and taste of the food. Came here for a baptism in the Michelle room. It's such a cute venue. It has the modern, rustic vibe to it with brick and wood walls, Edison light bulbs, and simple light fixtures. It really is a nice set up for photos. The table placement was nice. When you walk around, you can see the bottom of the wine glasses sparkle a little. I wish they had dimmed the running lights and turned on the Edison light bulbs. We were running late. I guess our guests didn't arrive early enough haha. The staff was very accommodating. They were courteous and friendly. They served us fruit punch in the beginning. For lunch, we had unlimited wine, soup, pasta, beef, chicken, and vegetables. I can see where they cut corners. It's family style. The food was okay. It's good for what you pay for. The beef was tough. The chicken was bland. The pasta was really good. The soup was the best part--it was broccoli cheddar I believe. Their dessert was chocolate mousse which I did not care for. My brother described it as chocolate whipped cream. Overall, I had a nice experience. The staff was great. The venue was cute. They allowed us to use mics to make announcements and play some parlor games. Two stars because the server in charge of our table was fantastic. My boyfriend who never notices anything said he was like a hawk in our table. I explained because he's doing his job! It's refreshing! I should have got his name but it was January 10th evening wedding party and first reserved table when you walk in on the left. Also did not notice but in case there was two halls it was the one furthest from the front door . Give that young man a raise ! Also two stars because food was great and it looked wonderful. Parking was fine on the street on a Friday night. Now. For a January wedding where women are wearing sleeveless dresses it was freezing all night! 65 degrees on the thermostat! I saw the workers looking at it and playing with it so maybe the heat was not working? Horrible! And I'm never cold. I work outside I'm not one to complain about cold weather! I keep my heat on 60 at home and don't need my coat on. I had a sweater on and still was freezing to the point I had to put my winter jacket on. Other women were wearing their men's suit jackets! I saw staff on a ladder with a bucket doing something on the ceiling maybe something was going on? They have 24 hr heat people for stuff like this. Valet were both sitting on their phones but nice enough. But phones should not be allowed while sitting at the front door on the clock . Looked unprofessional. Not much of a dance floor. Pretty small and cramped. Not enough space in between tables. One person stopping to talk which bride and groom usually do hold's up people trying to get to buffet line. I'd say everything was forgivable except being freezing. That killed it. Ruined the night. I would never suggest coming here no matter what the weather. I wonder if it was a fluke and the system failed but regardless it reAlly was horrible to sit there freezing in our winter jackets all night. What's the point of getting dressed up to have to cover up all night but regardless. It's uncomfortable outside why deal with that inconvenience inside? read more

Wow, this place really treated us well. I rented a room for my sweet 16 about a year ago and it still was one of the best days. What caught my eye was the rustic feeling of the room I choose. It was like a barn house feel. It was exactly what I was looking for. They were also super flexible with room sizes. They could move the walls in order to make your room fit your party size. I am still in love with the interior of the room. It was perfect and nothing like I have seen before. Our event planner helped us with everything and was so useful. We got a tour of the place and she gave us advice for everything. The whole preparation for the party was really easy because of her. She was really good at her job and made our lives easier. The day of the party everything was set up perfectly. We made a map weeks before of where we wanted tables, dance floor, gift table, and picture table. They set everything up perfectly. The food was also super good and had vegetarian options available for my guests. The staff was so kind to my guests as well. Another cool option they give is a custom cake with the party package. This made everything even more convenient. We had a date set with their cake company and got to pick out the cake. A week before my party I also emailed my party planner with the idea of surprising my mom with her own little cake during my party since her birthday is so close to mine. The staff worked it out perfectly. I had one of my guests bring in the cake and give it to the party planner. She then put it in the fridge. I told her what time to bring it out and the staff did it perfectly. And my mom was so suprised at how I pulled it off. It went perfectly. I would definitely recommend this place many many times again. The service was amazing and the staff was also so kind. There's so many mixed reviews here on yelp about this place and to be honest in the beginning I was a little skeptical. However, every person has different expectations and different taste. What seems bad to one is great for another. Bias aside here is my experience. I got married on September 28, 2013. Don't know why I waited this long for a review. I worked with Sylvia Matura. She was by far the best coordinator that I could have asked for. When I would email her with questions she would respond right away. She would give be options, she would provide her expert opinion when I would ask her for one. She knew that this needed to be a special moment and she worked very hard to make it happen. Anything that I wanted she made it happened. She worked with me the whole entire time and not once did she say, "I can't help you there". Wedding day came and the ceremony area looked beautiful. Everyone was so in awe of how the place looked. So elegant and so intimate. After the ceremony the staff did a great job transitioning from ceremony to reception. Our decorations looked amazing. Everything was perfect. I need to mention that my wedding colors were purple and orange, both bold colors. Sylvia found a way to make the place look elegant and not like a explosion of color. We had chiavari chairs that gave the place a fall look. Our tables were covered with ivory table clothes and an orange see through over lay. Our center pieces were amazing. Orange calla lilies and willows with purple led lights. It was just amazing! The place looked amazing! The food; OMG!!! Honestly when chefs cook for that many people we understand that the flavor may be off. Nope, not with our wedding. People ate and enjoyed their meals. I've yet to hear a complaint about the food. Everyone said that they gained like five pounds after our wedding. The fried calamari was delicious, the soup, the salad, the chicken, the beef, the pasta, there's nothing that I can complain about the food. I wish I would have had more time to eat more but you know as the bride I had to be everyone that night. Overall, I had the best time if my life and I was so pleased with the service and the work of the people at Biagios. It might not meet everyone's expectations, but it met mine and my husbands. We are extremely happy we had our wedding and reception there. The staff there are phenomenal. It I could go back and do it all over again, I totally would. Ohh where to start. I was technically a guest at this wedding, but the bride had no bridal party and so many of the details the day of were handed over to myself and another close friend. Let's start with the ceremony. It was fine in set up and all preparation. But in the middle of the ceremony you could hear workers screaming in the back kitchen or prep area. That's NEVER okay. Now for the hor d'oeuvres. Well the empanada type things, were literally cooked frozen things bought in bulk. They tasted freezer burnt. Unacceptable quality. The deviled eggs were tasteless, seemed to be missing an ingredient. But what's worse is that one corner of there room did not have one tray of hor d'oeuvres brought over to it. So three- four tables of people were not offered a single thing. The champagne toast, would have been great had enough champagne been brought out. But there wasn't even enough for half of the guests present to have any. Additionally, a worker spilled an entire tray of champagne glasses. Accidents, happen and to be clear I am not complaining about the spill. But there was broken glass everywhere and the workers down right refused to vacuum the glass off the carpet, although I asked and insisted several times. They "swept" it off. I ended up picking shards of glass up all night as my chair was right next to the accident. There were kids running around and barefoot women. Not okay. The seating was all mixed up in terms of how many chairs were at each table. There were two tables of 10, both set up for 8. And a table of 8 with only 7 chairs. That is too many seating mistakes. But to make matters worse, two guests were told by the day of planner there, that there was not a seat for them, so they LEFT!! Additionally, when she was asked to fix another seating problem she pretty much refused until another guest practically yelled at her. Her response was "I'll get to it when I get to it". Now I understand being stressed and having a ton of things to deal with. But a bit of professionalism would go along way and when all guests have been paid for it is 100% unacceptable for them to be told there is no seat for them. The main course food was good, as long as you did not have the tasteless vegetarian options. And the bartenders were very liberal in their pours. But the service and organization is a clear 1/10. After my experience I would never hold an event here and would reccomend people to stear clear of the banquet hall. read more

We threw a cocktails & hors d'oeuvres party at our home and ordered several items from Biagio's catering menu as recommended by staff. Not an overstatement to say that most of these were inedibly bad. Mediterranian platter consisted of dry, cold, soggy falafel, dry crumbly feta cheese (nearly powdered), dry tabouli, shredded artichoke pieces, and pitted olives. These platters were nearly untouched by party's end. Potato skins were dry, flavorless, and stuck together. Vegetarian spring rolls were completely soggy all the way through. Empanadas were dry and soggy. We had forty guests in our home, and now have four full trays of leftover, untouched food. Expensive. We'd have been better of going with Costco or Whole Foods. Thanks to Tracy my family had a phenomenal experience. Every step of the way, she raised the bar by going above and beyond to accommodate our needs. Even the ones we didn't even realize we had. She provided the best staff and bartender anyone could ask for and made sure we were promptly made aware of any upcoming changes; great or small. The event coordinator at our wedding venue had Biagio's on a list of caterers that had worked in our venue before, and I read on a few bridal blogs that they were able to cater at a lower price than most of the other companies in Chicago. So, I sent an email off to them at the start of September to inquire about their services. We traded off a few emails and arranged to come in for a tasting. After the tasting, I received another email saying our coordinator would be out of the office for about a week, but that she would be sure to provide us with a formal quote when she returned to the office on Saturday. Welp, Saturday came and went. Two other Saturdays came and went and I never heard back from them. I don't know what happened on their end, but they just disappeared into a bridal abyss. It's probably for the best, as we weren't enamored with their food anyways. But I will never, ever understand what has happened to common courtesy. If you couldn't/didn't want to cater our wedding, you could've at least dropped us an email to tell us that. read more

My wedding took place on 9/7/12 at Biagio's. Kim was my coordinator and I would recommend anyone to work with her and Blanca. My wedding was absolutely amazing. Kim, is worth every red penny and makes everything for anyone extremely stress free. She was a wedding planner without even hiring her directly as one. When I walked in to see the venue on the night of my wedding I cried, literally shed tears, the room looked absolutely fabulous. I had draping on the walls that were surrounded by gold lighting, I had tall boy tables near the bar to make the room look very social, my tables were spaced so wonderful and my linen, candy bar, cake table, and sweet table just looked fabulous. Kim made my wedding awesome. Although, our food came out completely wrong, I was not upset, because for 1 no one knew about it; two she fixed it before the week ended; and three there was plenty of food, no one would have noticed. Kim is extremely passionate about what she does, and during the process she did everything to make everything work. And we all no reality is life and in life some things won't turn out right always. They placed our signature drinks in vintage mason jars, which was awesome because it went well with our theme perfectly. The price was right for everything, the cake was included as well, which we had a beautiful cake four tiers with three different flavors of our choice, my favorite the carrot cake yum!!! I honestly couldn't have had a better wedding night, I married my best friend celebrated with my friends and family and Blanca and Kim did an amazing job, making my wedding dreams came true. My husband and I got married at Biagio in October. Planning a Chicago wedding from our home in Ohio proved to be pretty darn easy because we used Biagio. Our food, drinks, including alcohol, cake, linens, ceremony fee, valet parking and a few decorations were included in our package. Although we had a very small budget compared to most couples, our wedding turned out to be exactly what we had envisioned. Cheryl S. was great to work with, although a little scatter-brained at times. Everything was set-up exactly as I had instructed, without complications or delays. My only complaint was our venue was being used the night of our rehearsal so we did not get to practice the timing of our walk down the aisle to our music. This really threw off my walk down the aisle which was not a huge deal. I just wished someone would have told me so we could have rehearsed on a different night. I will admit - I was very skeptical about going with the caterer that came with the venue for our wedding (Grand Piazza). The skepticism flies out the window when you start working with Kim Olney. She honestly asks you your budget and does not belittle you or try to sell you something you don't need or want. She truly WORKS with you wherever you are financially. I did not think it was possible to have the wedding reception of my dreams and began to second guess whether the timing was off. Kim Olney (in the most positive way) is a beast. She works non-stop to make sure every critical detail is met. At our tasting, she set the table up with colored tablecloths that we had not initially considered - and we are GLAD she used her foresight in doing so. It gave our reception that extra bit of oomph. The main location of Biagio Catering also is a ceremony venue. While I did not have my ceremony here, I noticed that the other rooms setup could easily have accommodated my ceremony and reception. Quinces, weddings, and cotillions are held here as well and from the decor, they were just as beautiful as my setup. Did I mention - the food is AMAZING. You always hear that wedding food is just (meh) and honestly who cares about food when there is free liquor? But nope - the food was not to be ignored. We don't want to cancel the wedding we are being forced to bc of COVID and the restrictions, I don't feel I should have to settle for 85 people when I have a larger guest list but Bishop refuses to give me a refund. Went here for a party once and it was meh. First, there are 2 separate buildings which was confusing. I walked into the main building and was so lost until a person working there asked if I was at the wrong party, as if she knew that this happens and that people would be lost. Still they don't think to put up a sign or something saying that there's another building down the block. Went to that one and it was significantly not as nice as the main building. Low ceilings and small rooms. Probably meant for smaller parties but still. The party was split between the two rooms but can't really fault Biagio for that since the people planning it knew that it would be like that going into it. But the 2nd room was so quiet and just felt secluded from the rest of the party in the main room. The food on this night was family style and I wasn't really impressed with the food. Had the chicken, roast beef, and veggies and usually I eat a ton of food if it's free, but def was not feeling it this night. Mashed potatoes were pretty good though. Then the person who threw the party was making a speech so people paused eating and went to go listen. Then when they came back their plates were cleared and all the food was gone because the servers thought everyone was done. Pretty funny though since it didn't happen to me. We held a fundraiser here a couple weeks ago. What a great experience we had! It started with Jodi in the front office. She was great to work with. I can't say enough nice things about her. She was friendly, professional, quick to respond, and went out of her way to make sure that everything went just the way we wanted. The night of our event was amazing! Blanca was in charge of everything in the hall. She didn't miss a trick. She made sure everything flowed just the way we wanted. She made sure the food was hot, the bar lines were short, and everybody was happy. Tracy was in the office that night and was super friendly and accommodating. Our event was extremely successful and our guests had nothing but positive things to say. I highly recommend them, whether it be for a fundraiser, a wedding, a luncheon, or whatever your needs might be. They also have other halls that are gorgeous as well. Check them out. I contacted Biagio's catering to schedule a bridal shower for my brother and his fiancée. This was a company with whom we had previously dealt and we were enthusiastic about the party. We were told by Cheryl Salm that a room was available in their second location at 4300 W Central Ave in Chicago, the previous Harrington Banquets that had been purchased by Biagio's and renamed C-Catering by Biago's, for the event with a buffet of pizza, salad and pasta for 80 with unlimited soda and coffee, for the price of $1600. We arrived at the location and were let inside of a building that had a heavy mold smell in the air. In some areas ceiling tiles were removed with rusted broken wiring hanging down and catch basins beneath the open ceiling to collect falling water. The door to the kitchen was opened and an inch thick black/green sludge was found on the floor; the smell was stronger in this area and my daughter, who has severe allergic asthma, had to exit the building. The waitress who had unlocked the doors for us, named Blanca, stated at this time that she had been warning Biagio's staff to 'check' the building following recent snow and rain storms and no one had. The ceilings that were intact in this area had water stains and remnants of hanging "Silly String". Subsequent complaints had our party moved to a different hall in a different building at 4243 Central Ave, where our pasta selection was wrong and the food served was not enough for 80 people. Waitstaff abandoned the party two hours before it was finished, leaving guests with no way to refill their soda. The event was not only a disaster but an embarrassment. Guests arriving at the previous location were not alerted to the move and were simply turned away. The service was not only not what was agreed upon in our contract, but absolutely terrible, on top of having been nearly forced into a building that was not only filthy but also presented a real health hazard. read more

Our only disappointment is that our new life has not allowed us to give this review sooner, because for such a grand occasion, such feedback is priceless to both business and customer. In short, they really delivered-- everything was fantastic, and expertly done to our wishes. Sylvia, Kim, Enzo, and Blanca (and the rest of the staff) listened to our vision and our must-haves, they went beyond and delivered with honors! Attentive and patient-- they weren't content until we were. The place has been there forever, but Sam has very convincingly executed a renewal as late, as everyone was very much impressed with the presentation, food quality, and service!! I know that impression prompted several of our Italian guests to even hold subsequent events there since that night-- the ultimate testimonial. I had such a wonderful experience for my wedding reception at Biagio. We received so many compliments on the room we rented and our reception photos looked awesome! Beautiful space. Great price. Wonderful employees. But what realllllly made Biagio extra special was my coordinator, Tracey Opel. She was so friendly, professional, accommodating, and very helpful to answer all of my questions. She was so easy to work with and seriously made this one aspect of my wedding stress free. She was very accommodating to our family (who were also in the wedding party + our florist) to make sure they had the time to get everything ready ahead of time.
