Better than average Korean food is served in a very central location. The restaurant is very dark, and not super comfortable. There was also only person working so service was very slow. I came in spontaneously for dinner early on a Friday evening. I got a table outside and the surrounding tables filled up quickly. I ordered a large beer and the Bibimbap. The server was helpful because I ordered the Bibimbap and she pointed out that there's no meat in it. I stuck with my order but that is good to know. The food wasn't spectacular but good enough. The food and beer came out efficiently. To pay you have to go inside and tell your table number to the person at the cash register. read more

Didn't get a lot of pictures of the food or space, but we had a very good meal here. There was a bit of a wait for a table and not much space to wait, but it was all good. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Good selection of beers and wine. The food is essentially different variations on rice or noodle bowls with different meats and veggies. Food comes out quickly and hot. I had the Dolsot Jae Yuk, which is a rice dish with spicy pork, veggies, and a fried egg on top. It was really good. I don't remember what my other dinner companions had, but everyone was very happy with their dishes. read more

I'll round this up and give it a four. It's the fast casual korean bibimbap store that you see trending in the restaurant scene but bibimcup has far more selections including kimbap, meat dishes and the sort. At nine euros for my bibimcup dish it's hard to complain. It was a decent selection of veggies bulgogi- can't seem to remember if there was an egg. Dish was easy on the sesame oil and the red pepper paste was definitely mixed with korean soybean paste. In sum definitely ok with this especially in Germany but tamper expectations - this is a fast casual version and it will be different from most bibimbaps read more

FOOD & DRINKS The menu only has a few options which is good. Usually that means they do what they do best without trying hard to please everyone. I got the dolsot bibimbap with spicy pork. It came with three sides. Two pickled veggies and a kimchi soup. Lets start with the sides. The soup was ok. More sour than spicy. The pickled veggies kicked my taste buds with lots of acidity. I don't know if that was intended or not but that was a completely new experience in Korean cuisine for me. The whole purpose of the dolsot is to make the rice crispy. No one tells you that in the restaurant. Since I had to take pictures anyway, the dolsot had time to cook the rice and make it crispy at the bottom. That didn't happen. The dolsot was just not hot enough. Basically the function of the dolsot was to keep the dish warm. The veggies were quite soft and the spicy pork was ok. The tiny bits here and there were not that exciting. Everything mixed together, as it should be, ended being mushy. The spice level was medium, low for the asian tongue. Fortunately they had some red chili paste on the table to push it a bit more. The downside of using the paste was that the whole dish became even mushier. SERVICE The waitress was cute but that can't really influence my rating, can it? Service was very basic at best. ATMOSPHERE I love this location. Its modern and hip. Very stylish. This restaurant reflects the aesthetic and trendier side of Korea. Definitely a place to take out your girlfriend if you happen to have one. Fortunately for me they also have seats for singles. RATING I went here with my hopes held high and I was very impressed with the interior. The food was mediocre at best. Basically a hot stone pot with rice, veggies and meat. Very very basic. The thing I was missing is texture! The sunny side up egg could have been crispy at the bottom, the rice could have been already a bit crispy when they bring it out to the customer and the meat should smell so aromatic and flavorful that it makes you drool. read more

Am I going through a Korean phase, well the day after Japan Day it would be rude not to be inclusive and try out another Asian cuisine... and a new opening. So Bibicup is my lunch destination to shelter from the torrential rain that keeps plaguing "Rain or Shine" Düsseldorf....Is summer coming or not? Anyhow, back to my quest... A cool wooden modern interior that looks funky hip (maybe my vocabulary isn't) but an airy appeal with big windows. And various seating options. One tip, if you are tall or have a back complaint ...then the window bench is a bit tricky as the counter seems not to extend far enough out so you can get your legs under it. Anyhow the food!!! The server/greeter was very friendly and asked if I'd been before and then took time to run through the dishes menu ... It's pretty simple combination but it's always best to let the expert help you. I went for the larger size, as it's pre-gym feed up. Basically it's a rice base with vegetables (mushroom, courgette, carrot, beansprouts etc) then optional topping choice of glassnoodle, tofu, pork, beef or octopus for €2,- extra. The meal combo involves the choice of a homemade Mandu (was truly delicious), kimbap or soup. Plus a drink... I took green tea which was served in a traditional pot. Nice authentic touch they use traditional Korean metallic chopsticks. Overall €11,- but you can start for as little as €6,- so I think it suits many different budget. It was very very fresh. It's great when you can hear the sound of chefs chopping stuff up. Nice music coming out but not too loud. And attentive staff who checked how it was. Yup, I'll be back maybe at a peak or evening to see how they are but I recommend it. Try it! And I'll bring my Korean friends when they visit from the US to give their views. So tbc ;-) P.s. Went here to satisfy those asian food cravings :) My cravings were satisfied yes, and it's quite representative of bibimbap in Korea (I ordered the bulgogi dolsot bibimbap). However, the vegetables didn't seem fresh (or perhaps they were overcooked. So the quality of the food didn't quite do it for me. Service was good. Another positive is that it's walking distance to Düsseldorf Hbf (train station). read more

*vegan options available* Not knowing what to expect upon my first arrival and being a super indecisive person I was glad that the concept is pretty simple and that there's actually not too much to choose from. Besides the bibimcup I really wanted to try the kimbap (sushi roll) so I ordered the small menu 2 for 10€ with tofu as a topping. The kimbap was delicious and the bibimcup nice and flavourful. With my being a biiiig fan of sauces the bowl could have used some more tho. There's soy sauce and hot sauce (not vegan) on the tables. If you're vegan they will give you a jar of vegan hot sauce. But I neither like my dish being too salty nor too spicy so I went easy on the sauces. Generally I recommend getting the large bowl as it only costs an additional € and after spending 10€ on a menu I wasn't quite satisfied. On my last visit I got the rice noodles instead of the tofu and liked how the noodles were covered in sauce :) A little down side is that they only serve pops by coca cola. I find that Fritz or another alternative brand would be a lot more fitting for this lovely place. read more

Great food in a cute, hipster location. The restaurant is very clean, chic, and nicely decorated, and the service was very friendly, prompt, and courteous. My husband ordered the pork bibimbap and I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap. Prices were reasonable, the food came out fast, and the food tasted great and satisfied our Korean cravings. This is not a typical Korean restaurant, so we didn't expect the bibimbap to taste like the traditional Dolsot bibimbap we're accustomed to. It's more like an upgraded Korean fast food. Came here for lunch for the first time because Gogi Matcha (a couple of blocks away and very good) was full. We had dolsot bibimbap and kimchi jiggae. Each person got tiny radish and beans banchan. Definitely not a very generous place this one, unlike most good Korean restaurants. The kimchi jjiggae was OK but the portion was very small, by far not worth the 13 euros they charged me for it. I even asked the waitress, a German girl in her 20s, but she had no clue and could not/did not want to help. So, the the normal bad customer service of any German restaurant. The dolsot bibimbap was good. In summary, next time I will not forget to make reservations at a "more Korean" place. read more

I've biked past this place a few times and was in the mood to try something new. Since I enjoy Korean food, I was sold. It's a fast-casual take on Korean, specifically bibimbap. You get rice, veggies and a topping of your choice. I went for squid (tintenfisch) as part of the menu. It came with a drink and choice of dumpling, soup or kimbap (basically a faux crab sushi roll) for 11 Euro (I was hungry, went for the large). After waiting 5 minutes, they finally brought my drink, and a few minutes after that, my kimbap. 20 minutes later, the woman who took my order asked what i'd ordered, apologized and said it would be 2 more minutes. A few minutes later, the food finally came. It was VERY unimpressive. The rice was bland, as were the veggies. The squid wasn't hot (in either sense) -- basically it was a bowl of lukewarm, bland ingredients. Next time I'll be going back around the corner to Korea Haus -- inifinitely better food, and only a few Euro more. read more
