But in an area that is surrounded by tall offices, the craziness of working people and street vendors, you can find this Library that is slightly hidden, and once you step in, its as though you went back in time. Three levels of books. Old books. Dark wood interior decor. Tables for you to sit and research or read or just take in the stained glass designs and the roof detail work. They have some special items on display - sadly most are in portuguese only.You are not allowed to touch the books...but if you need to research on specific items, you can ask the people that work there for assistance. A simple place to see a bit of local history and the Portuguese influence.
