It is a quaint historic area full of traditional apple wine pubs. Apple wine is the traditional drink of Frankfurt and MOST Frankfurters will choose it over a pint of beer.
Rauscher Brunnen, the sterile looking lady statue, spits at irregular intervals at pedestrians walking by. I was in hysterics when I witnessed an older man get soaked as he posed with the statue for photos. He yelled and ran freakishly as if he was shot! It was one of those cases where you had to be there.
The statue was named after an old song and "Rauscher" means "partly fermented cider" in German. The surrounding narrow brick streets, old homes, and wet pants, make this statue a worthwhile stop.
