Hi all, Rented a…read moreRace last week of April at Bicycle Holidays Max Hürzeler and at first the impression was good and bike in fine condition. However I had a large puncture (hole in the road) at about 40 kilometers from Palma and could not continue on the same tire. Then I realized that I had no number to call the bikeshop and tried (without success) to locate an emergency number at their website (impossible). Instead of finding a taxi and spent a fortune I was able to locate a bikeshop that could sell another tire to be put on my rental bike and drive myself the way back to the rental store for replacement of the broken wheel (I had insurance). Then I learned that they were willing to change the broken wheel, but not pay for the tire I have bought to replace and get myself back to the shop and I whould have taken a taxi instead (which they would pay for). However, nobody told me anything about that practice and afterwards I have read all the paperwork (General Rental Conditions) and nowhere it is stated how to book taxi or other practise! Instead it is stated in 2.4 that I am supposed to inform them about the accident otherwise I can be responsible myself - how is that possible when I cannot get in contact with them?? So all in all - Max Hürzeler is a large (and busy) rental company that gives the "factory impression" of no service and when you have paid your rent, they do not seem to care. I can only recommend to use some of the many other good and interesting bike rentals around in Mallorca.
