One day I decided to try this place, and it took me less than 10 minutes to drive there. It's a small recycling center next to Inspire Church. I arrived there at 4:00 PM. They had bins stacked up, and you can grab a bin and sort by plastic, soda cans, and beer bottles. You can also sort your 16.9 oz bottles separately because they will pay you more for those. I was surprised that there was only one person working, but he was nice and friendly -- and he moved really fast. I was amazed at how quickly he worked. He actually goes through the bins and takes out anything that is not HI-5. I thought protein drink cans had HI-5 on them, but I was wrong. It was impressive how he could process everything all day while sorting at the same time. At first, I had to ask him why he was taking out certain cans, and he explained that those didn't have HI-5 on them. I saw some reviews about workers at recycling places being dishonest. I won't mention any names, but there are a few places where workers have been dishonest. However, this place has plenty of surveillance cameras, and they weigh your cans and plastic right in front of you. I think it's nearly impossible for them to cheat here. At other places, they weigh your cans and bottles where you can't see the scale. But here, the weight scale is right in front of you, and there are even cameras pointing at the scale. As a Yelp reviewer, I want to give my honest opinion. When I see negative comments like that, I like to dig in and compare them to my own observations. Like I said, at other places you can't see the weight scale or any cameras. I have been recycling for a while, and I got the most money here. When I took my recycling to a competitor, I didn't get nearly as much as I did at RRR Recycling. I didn't realize I had essentially been sharing my payout with the workers at the other place. On top of that, I even gave them a few extra dollars to buy themselves a drink. lol I won't say exactly how much I got, but I will say I got $25.00 more than at other places. I also think that if you don't receive a summary of your recycling and feel your return was too low, you can probably call their management and open an investigation. But I was super happy with my extra $25, and my receipt broke down exactly what I had and how much I received for each item -- like an itemized receipt. On top of everything, the worker was solo and incredibly fast, and he was very friendly. I asked him if he was a regular employee there, and he said he is only a part-timer. He was too shy to be in a picture, but I managed to get a photo of him from behind. I hope management recognizes and appreciates his hard work. Sometimes it's hard to find someone who is both honest and hardworking, and when you find that person, doing everything you can to keep them is better for your business and better for your customers. As you looking at the picture you can see all the cameras in the building and it will be impossible for them to cheat. That's my observation!!!

I saw this place had a fairly good review so I gave it a go. Sadly it fell way below expectations. I drove up and there was no other customers there. I noticed a female employee looking at her phone. I started unloading my 6 bags of recyclables and put the into the designated bins. Female employee still hadn't acknowledged me. Since this was my first time there I wasn't familiar with where to put my filled bins when I was done. I hesitatingly pulled them up the ramp and put them on the left side of the chains. With nothing said to me again she got up from watching her phone and pulled them under the chain to the middle. A male employee came out to assist her and they just spoke between themselves about another customer that has just pulled up. She handed me the money and receipt. And the first and only words uttered to me the whole time "$33.75." This experience has left me feeling like an inconvenience, I'm not sure how the have above a 1 star rating.

As well as it does add up just taking a moment to set some recyclables aside really didn't disturb my routine as I thought it would acting with a bit of resistance now is a feeling of good. This Kapolei location is in the heart of Kapolei Shopping Center right beside Safeway along side the GreenDrop container it is in a nice spot of convenience for us all in many ways as I had errands this was the perfect spot to do a quick drop off and though there was just one guy doing it all it was fast and easy. Donation for a good cause…read more.. I drove past this Green Drop trailer on Kamehameha Highway as I headed towards the Ewa side of the island and thought: "Hey! This is something new!" Located along the line of Food Trucks in the parking lot where Sears used to be (look for the red and white Leonard's Malasadamobile), Green Drop is a familiar name because there's a trailer in Kaneohe at Windward Mall! Same idea! Bo was very helpful when I walked up to turn in my package of stuff. I was already in the system, so he entered my phone number onto the tablet, and I received a confirmation email with a printable receipt. That's so efficient! Bo stated that the two Savers on Oahu work in conjunction with Green Drop, which is a national company. The funds raised from donated goods go to various charities such as The Red Cross. Ahhh... interesting! I am motivated more to purge and visit the other Green Drop locations in Kapolei and Kailua! Note: this location opened on 8-1-24.

This Pearlridge Center location is very easy to find as it shares space with other food trucks in the former Sears location making a drop off easy with lots of free parking. They seem to accept anything from clothes to household goods and the staff there is ready to help you if you have a lot or any heavy items, love to see these Green Drop trailers more and more around the island as making the drop is easier than purging items that I know I no longer need. They have been especially helpful to me and my family for nearly 25 years! From 32nd Street Naval Station, San Diego, to Command Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Japan, and Pearl Harbor, Honolulu, most of all the staff and volunteers are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and can personally relate to all of the concerns each service member, spouse, or dependent has! As long as you have a current DoD ID card, you are eligible to access all of their resources. And why not?! There are no out-of-pocket costs for their services and they are a wealth of information! If you're a Military Spouse and your service member is either Separating or Retiring, I highly recommend the Military Spouse Transition Seminar. Basically covers transitioning from Active Duty to the Civilian world (i.e. how to be the best support system for your soon-to-be civilian member). I opted for this class, instead of attending the DoD Transition Assistance Program (TAPs) with my active duty member, because it's only 1-day (instead of 3-5 days), it's spouses only, and thanks to the USO, coffee, snacks, and lunch are all provided throughout the day for free! The Military Spouse Transition seminar covered the following topics, in 1-hour increments: -Healthcare: TRICARE, Pharmacy, Dental -VA Benefits & Services: Healthcare, Memorial, GI Bill, Home loans, Survivor Benefits -Financial Planning: TSP, FICO, Excel worksheet -Relocation: PCS pack out, temporary furniture, travel advance -Employment: Resume building, LinkedIn -Wellness & Support: Yoga, Mindfulness This class is currently only offered once every quarter, so plan ahead and register well in advance through the Great Life Hawaii website. Recycling is a good thing!…read more Want to be paid to clean your house? Just collect all of your aluminum cans, glass bottles, and plastic bottles, then bring them here! Sort out your glass bottles by color...clear, green, brown, etc. It's easier to weigh your bottles and cans, but for those who want a hand count, that's available, too. Service is efficient. Just drive up and park nearby. Pour your sorted cans (and bottles) into a plastic bin. A worker will pour your bin into another container and weigh your items. They had Entertainment, dog centered vendors And food. We did a dog walk and Support. And then we were entertained by dancers from a local high school. And got to shop.

Since moving closer, we've attended many awesome community events here at the Momilani Community Center. They're usually always free to attend, usually have tons of great food booths, music, and activities! Our most recent outing was to the Pearl City Halloween Bash held at the center! It was tons of fun, lots of games, prizes, music and so much more. I especially enjoyed the Halloween event because it provided a safe and fun environment for the children, including my 2 and 4 year Olds. They had a blast!! And that's what matters most. We've also attended many private parties here. It's such a great location with lots of street parking, and lots of spa e for so many things. Leahi Swim School is also lo aged here.
