The boat launch is directly next to Cafe Del Rio Mexican Restaurant and you can see the USS Alabama across The Causeway on the other side. During the summer, it is very busy & you can see alligators sunning themselves nearby in the tall grasses. I believe this boat launch gives access to The Mobile-Tensaw River Delta. Mobile Bay is very shallow. Also a good point for kayaks and rafting. It is known locally as a very good fishing spot, but the pier sign says no crabbing or fishing from the pier. I see a lot of retired fisherman come here, they bring a lawn or deck chair and fish more behind the parking area near the water.

You will need to go to the Howells ferry rd entrance which is where the docking area is. This is fun to drive across both ways, day or night. We had the worst experience with George's pop and shop boat store…read more We bought our boat a few weeks ago and had issues from the start. They took 2 weeks to install a trolling motor. During that time they didn't call to give us updates, they actually seemed annoyed when we called to receive updates. 7 days in we decided to picked up the boat anyways even though the trolling motor was still not installed. They said they had a boat show that they prioritized before getting to our boat and asked us to bring it back the following week. When we took it home we were just happy to have our boat and didn't notice that they'd handed it over to us without it being detailed (it was very dirty), the gas tank wasn't calibrated, and they didn't fill the gas tank and on top of that the trolling motor was still not installed. After the weekend we brought our boat back and gave them a list of everything we'd notice. They said they would take care of it. Another week went by without updates and finally my husband called by the end of the week and they told us it was ready. It wasn't. The only thing they did was install the trolling motor and they installed it with two starter batteries instead of a deep cycle batter. The gas tank to this day is not calibrated, the boat still dirty and they kept our boat brush that we had just purchased for the boat. We've decided to take our boat home and to get it fixed elsewhere. To avoid further stress and headaches. If this was a used boat, it would be more understandable but it's an almost 90k BRAND NEW boat. The mechanic was kind but besides him, it was the worst customer service we've ever received. We're highly disappointed with our purchase. We wish we would've gone to a regular boat dealership. I would give negative stars if I could.

We were in Mobile for the weekend and missing our little doggo that was home with a sitter. The gal behind the counter was very sweet. Even though we didn't have a dog with us, they let us buy beers and go into the park area. They have beers on tap and in cans. It is a pretty good selection with several local options. There were quite a few dogs playing. The park looked well maintained with fun stuff for the fluff butts to play and interact with throughout. We got to pet a few and watch them have the best time.

This is a great course in Daphne that runs along D'Olive creek. A former Par 3 golf course, the…read morefirst 9 holes were developed and opened within the last couple of years. The course is open, but it has some elevation and makes use of a few copses of trees to good effect in order to create a quick yet interesting course. Typically I would simply play the 9 holes twice to get in a full 18 holes, but the past few months the town has been quickly developing a swath of land across the street from the front 9 and the back 9 is almost ready to go. Tee pads are in (except for a little confusion on the direction of the pad on 14) and 7 of 9 holes have baskets up and are ready for play. The front 9 has only a single par 4 (hole 7), but the back 9 has 3 par 4s (holes 11, 13, 15). There are signs up showing the lie of the hole and distance on the front 9 and I expect the back 9 will get signs eventually too. There is a paved walking/jogging path that runs completely around the front 9 and runs out along the right side of the course on the back 9. In addition there is a pavillion with a picnic table and areas designated to be 'recreation areas' that have yet to be developed. The grass is often mowed and the course well maintained. The ground can be kinda spongy and sandy in places, and watching where you step around some of the holes should keep you from stepping in an ant mound. All in all, it's my favorite course in the Mobile area and keeps me driving across the causeway nearly every other weekend.
