This review is long overdue. I cannot say enough great things about Big Future! It is such a wonderful preschool with the best teachers and director! Both my son and daughter attended Big Future Preschool since they were 3 years old until they entered Kindergarten. Both my kids initially had minimal communication skills but they came out flourishing. It's amazing to see how much they've grown socially and academically at such a young age all thanks to this excellent school. Both my kids are ready for kindergarten and as a parent I cannot be happier. They've been able to make great friends too! We have two kids at Big Future Preschool in San Marcos, and I can honestly say it's been one of the best decisions we've made as parents. From day one, the staff has treated our children like individuals--not just students, but actual little humans with their own personalities, needs, and quirks. That level of personalization is rare, and we noticed it immediately. The teachers are incredibly thoughtful and patient. They actually know our kids--not just their names, but how they learn best, what they enjoy, and how to help them grow. Our youngest used to be pretty shy, but since starting here, we've seen her confidence take off. The curriculum is solid. It's not just playtime with worksheets--they're learning real skills and concepts, and it's done in a way that keeps them excited to go to school every day. It's the perfect mix of structure and creativity. Also, the school is spotless. You can tell the staff takes pride in the space. Every time we walk in, it smells clean, everything's organized, and there's always someone actively tidying or disinfecting. I can't recommend Big Future enough. Our family could not be happier with our experience at Big Future Preschool. Our daughter attended for two years and in that time, we saw her blossom! My child asked me to stop sending her here earlier this year, and looking back, I regret ever enrolling her. The most troubling issue was that she felt compelled to leave because other children were teasing her--something that should have been addressed and prevented with proper supervision and teacher involvement. I don't send my child to school to be bullied, and it's deeply concerning that this was allowed to happen. (Yes, I addressed this with staff multiple times. But in the end it wasn't enough and now we are gone.) Additionally, I found some of the staff's attitudes to be unwelcoming, which only added to the discomfort. Lastly, regarding cleanliness...I did notice an improvement in cleanliness before we left, but it should never have reached the level it did in the first place. Sadly, this experience reflects a larger disappointment I've had with the state of schooling in America. Our children deserve better. read more

We initially made the mistake of not sending our son to this preschool because we were nervous about the early potty training requirement. Looking back, we truly regret that decision. Once we made the switch, we saw our son thrive in ways we hadn't before. Believe all the five-star reviews- this preschool is a hidden gem. The small, intimate classrooms allow for more one-on-one attention, closer friendships, and a warm, nurturing environment where the teachers genuinely love what they do. Ms. Mahua was our son's teacher and she was absolutely wonderful- caring, engaging, and consistently made each day fun and enriching. One of the unexpected bonuses is their "date night" program. Kids get to wear pajamas, watch movies, play with friends, and have a blast while parents enjoy a night out. Our son looked forward to these nights every time. While the outdoor space isn't huge, the staff makes sure the kids are always active, engaged, and most importantly-safe. The director is the kind of leader every preschool should have: hands-on, thoughtful, communicative, and deeply invested in every child's well-being. The community of parents is also amazing- supportive, welcoming, and involved. We loved our time here so much that even after moving 30 minutes away, we continued to drive our son in every day. I truly cannot even begin to explain how much Ms Ariel, the entire staff (Ms Jessica, Ms Nancy, Ms Xyra, and Ms Mahua), and this preschool mean to us. They have truly gone above and beyond in every way to support our son. Ms Ariel excels in communication and always does so with positivity. She truly cares about every kid in her class. You can feel it. And as if that isn't enough, every teacher hugs and supports him. Not only is the staff a dream come true but the activities the director/Ms Jessica plans are just unreal. We had the pleasure of meeting Jessica and her team 3 years ago when we first enrolled our son, and eventually enrolled my daughter a year after. The teachers are so great and are all pleasant to work with! They get to know each kid and their needs, and how they can excel in each classroom; which was important to us. Our daughter attended this amazing preschool for 2.5 years full time for full days and we loved it. Not only do the teachers care, but they truly put in a lot of dedication and work to each child's growth. I was able to see how my daughter excelled in learning and retaining information she was taught. She would share things she learned from weather, dinosaurs, planets and animals. They also do a really good job preparing for elementary school. Having two boys in daycare since they were 3 months old, we have been around the block when it comes to finding that perfect place for our little ones. When we herd about big future preschool we were so excited as we had herd great things. They have been the best child care we have found, not only do they have a structured curriculum for each class, they provide breakfast and snacks, athletic programs that come to the school once a week, hours for working parents, fun events and so much more. All the teachers and staff have been amazing to my little one and us as a family. My daughter has been going to this school since she was 3yrs old and each day she looks forward going there. There was never a day that she dreaded attending this school cause she simply enjoys being there learning new things and she loves her teachers. The teachers are simply wonderful and are really great and helpful not just to our daughter but to our family as well and its something that you can't find anywhere else. I find their open door policy great since it works well with our family's schedule especially that both my husband and I are working. Overall, Big Future PreSchool has been a great place for our kid (academically, learning life skills & having good relationships with kids of different ages and adults) and for us as well and we look forward to the day when our second daughter will be able to attend here too. read more

We love Big Future. My son, Ezra, always look forward going to school and he loves it so much. Where do I even start I was a Teacher/Assistant Director at BFP for 6 years! I would have stayed forever but... I had a baby. This school is amazing it academically challenges your child and prepares them for kindergarten. The science projects are so immersive and creative you can see how much love is put into each activity. Jessica the director is the most kind loving person she genuinely cares about all her staff and families. Ms.Ally is so loving with the kids and her creativity is next level with her constantly reinventing the wheel to keep of with current education and ECE trends. Ms.Eva a mother of three herself puts her all into her class and students.She has a Masters In Education and a wealth of knowledge to help prepare the children for kindergarten. Ms.Mahua has the most warm loving personality she feels like home ( Her butter chicken is also world class ) if you ever tour check out her walls the kids art is beautiful and inventive. Xyra their two's teacher is so sweet and bubbly her sweet personality will put a smile on anyone's face. The school itself is a dream! very small with a home feel. We love the organized, safe, warm and clean atmosphere, the direct communication with teachers, the monthly newsletter and flyers that keep us in the loop... so many good things to say! The art and science focused activities are our favorite. Let's not forget the parent nights out which we appreciate so much. Moving to San Marcos was a huge change for our family - throw Covid in the mix! We looked at several preschools in the area, carefully trying to find the right fit. Today we are very happy that we went with Big Future. We were very happy with our previous preschool, but Big Future is even better! Ms. Jessica, Ms. Jess and all the team are great! My son's vocabulary has exploded, his social and motor skills have developed so much and he shows interest in learning because he has fun doing it at school. I absolutely cannot recommend BFP San Marcos more if I tried. Our family relocated to North County and our daughter had been at the same preschool from 6 months to 4 years. The minute I walked in for a tour, I knew this was the place for our family. The space is so bright and welcoming, the staff all goes above and beyond to make sure both kids AND parents feel welcome and comfortable, and the parent communication is outstanding. The staff did an amazing job getting our daughter ready for kinder from BOTH an educational/foundational perspective and a social/emotional perspective. We were so happy to leave our daughter in the care of these amazing people every day. My only regret is that we only had a year and a half here before heading off to kinder! read more

Where should I start? We were hoping to get our daughters started at Big Future sooner but my eldest wasn't potty trained yet at the time we intended. We went to another preschool but had such a terrible experience there so when we finally potty trained our oldest daughter & there was an opening at Big Future, we immediately decided to transfer her here. This was hands down the best decision we could make for our kids. My daughter started going to Big Future in 2016. The Director at the time was Adalyn and she was amazing. She gave us a great tour of the school which has an big open area, separates into 2 sections (preschool & prek/kinder prep). There's an outdoor area which they've since updated with new toys/equipment and the fence covers the area so no onlookers look in as well as a nice shaded area. Our daughter Josie had such an amazing first week there when we decided to transfer her from another preschool. Her first teacher was Miss Jessica (she is now the Director of the San Marcos location and a well deserved promotion) and she eventually transitioned to Miss Crystal and Miss Sangeeta (they transferred to another location). Everyday our daughter was excited to go to school & had an amazing time. The teachers are all amazing, very transparent, understanding, and personable. We eventually enrolled our twins who recently graduated this school year and they tell us how much they miss their teachers and friends. So you're probably wondering about the cirriculum. The teachers post the day schedule/weekly schedule & activities on their individual boards. The school has a lot of science based learning and foster "no tears" reading/writing. This school really prepared (even beyond our expectations) our girls for kindergarten/elementary school. When our daughters took their entrance exams for their school after Big Future, they were ABOVE the expectations for kindergarten as far as reading/writing/numbers which is amazing. The receiving schools were impressed with their skills thus far which is really the work of the teachers here. The teachers will get your kids where they need to be for their age with reading, writing and math (which is just basics) and assist in areas where they may need improvement (recommending homework/assignments) if needed. They also have learning tablets which is the future of enhanced learning and what our oldest daughter uses as a supplement for her learning in school and at home now. The school is very safe and clean (they clean frequently) which I am OCD about being a nurse. I know this is the first thing us parents worry about. They have a locked door and camera in front of the office as well as an alarm system. You have to sign your kids in/out when dropping them off & picking up and only those on an approved list that the parents provide can be proxy to mom and dad. I ALWAYS felt safe & reassured leaving my kids at Big Future which you can tell the teachers put first and take seriously. They also let us know when they're doing emergency procedures/drills, announcements for activities/sickness/injuries and especially during flu/cold season (this is what I mean by transparency) and I truly appreciated this. Aside from the curriculum, the girls always came home happy & eager to tell us about their day. Afterall, this is what it's about right? Getting the kids engaged and social but most of all eager to learn new things. We're going to miss the teachers and school. We're especially going to miss Miss Jessica, Miss Alexa, Miss Jess, Miss Natasha & Miss Mahua. You ladies are amazing, professional, one of a kind, and dedicated teachers. Our girls have developed in their character, focus, learning and social skills. We are so grateful for all the school and teachers have done for us and our girls. They'll always be family to us! From one parent to another, you won't regret your choice in Big Future! P.S. They have the cutest artist of the month activity (which is really cool to learn at a young age, makes you appreciate the arts too), science activities/experiments, in school activities (soccer, they used to have sing/song spanish, presentations to engage the community) and not to mention an amazing Preschool Graduation Ceremony. If I could give this place a million stars I would!!! This is absolutely the BEST preschool in the area. There are no words to describe the magnitude of their greatness! Please do not consider any other school as this is such an awesome place. The director is so organized and completely hands on. She deserves to be recognized for the program she has set in place for the children. Not only her, but she has hired such a wonderful staff. The teachers are all kind, patient, and true professionals. They treat all other kids as their own. They have super fun and engaging activities. I cannot say enough good things about all of the caring and thoughtful teachers. They have a strong grasp on structure and flexibility to meet my child's super energetic personality. They accept her for all of her flaws and encourages her potential. Positives: 1. Very open to ensuring parents feel comfortable. They don't just pay attention to your child for a few weeks and then don't give any updates afterwards. I can ask about how her day was and they give good details on her progress. 2. All of the children are very loved, well taken care of and tweaks made to cater to their individual personalities. 3. Have a microwave! Sounds silly but the last school I enrolled my daughter in, they didn't offer to warm up kids food. I love that they support different types of foods so I love that they will microwave food for your LO. 4. Really interesting curriculum that includes all topics that your kids will need to know moving into grade school like science, art, handwriting and spelling/reading/writing. 5. Very flexible drop off and pick up times from 6:30am-6pm which is very helpful for working parents. 6. Classrooms are clean and very organized daily. 7. Open door policy for parents which I love. If you want to eat lunch with your child or stop by, you can do so. 8. Parent date night. They offer to watch your child for a small fee for 4 hours every 3rd Friday of the month. WIN!!!! 9. themed family days every few months like Thanksgiving get together 10. Snacks provided Things to consider: 1. 2 Tuition types for part time and full time. No option to save money if you end up picking your child up early as a full time child. 2. They have a list of certain allergies with each child but don't go to extremes. I.e. children can still eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. 3. During date nights, they offer pizza and snacks consist of very sweet treats. Nothing wrong in my opinion but just surprised to come back to chocolate all over my child's face. She clearly loves parents night out. 4. Child moving up seems more subjective than what was initially explained. 5. They do numbers but I don't think they teach math? Not 100% sure so we've been working on basic math at home. Overall any of the small considerations were outweighed by the overwhelming positives, level of attention and love this school gives to the children. Our daughter has been attending Big Future for just about a year now and we couldn't be more happy with the establishment, staff and education our daughter has received. My daughter attended Big Future Preschool for 3 years before going to Kindergarten this past fall. The staff at Big Future are caring and nurturing and always made her feel special. If you are looking for a place for your little one, look no further- BF is sincerely a wonderful place. After doing all my research and comparing and contrasting different preschools, I landed on BF because of their dedication to teaching the kids the fundamentals of kindergarten and beyond, not because it was warm and fuzzy and everyone seemed super happy (which was a major bonus!). The staff here is clear that they prepare the children to be able to excel in kindergarten in regards to writing, reading letters, arts and group activities but my favorite was the emotional preparedness too. My daughter is an only child and I was concerned how she would fare having not had a sibling and then being thrust into a class with other kids. The teachers and staff here are so patient, kind and are so readily available that it only took a few days for my daughter to feel comfortable. Not only does she love going to school, color in the lines, trace letters and can recite the months and planets and do simple mathematics- but she also made some really neat friends. BF fosters a community for these kiddos and it has been so rewarding having my daughter here. We are excited for kindergarten next year but it is sad to leave this place. We, as parents, have to find solutions to early education that fits with our values and I have to say, I trust BF with my daughter 100%. I have recommended this preschool countless times to friends and family and can say that the price tag is well worth the value. In comparison to other preschools we interviewed the school is outstanding and tuition's fair. Our daughter graduated beyond prepared for kinder. She learned to read, write, and do basic math. Her curriculum also included science, gym, and Star Wars Yoga (what?!). Overall it was comparable to the private school she attended in AZ. The staff made our experience memorable, as they were consistent: warm, competent, professional, and just all around good people. We were very pleased with Big Future.
