You can do the free version or like me do the unlimited one for .99 cents a month. If you use the app at Big Mill's you get $4 off your order! This is amazing! Second, check in on Yelp! When you check in on Yelp at Big Mills you get a free brownie and the brownies are huge and amazing tasting! My food came out in about 5 minutes. Since it was my first time they tossed in some complimentary sauces like the au jus sauce. The au just was amazing and dipping the sandwich into it was awesome. The bread for the sandwich was amazing and complimented the sandwich really well. The steak was amazing as well and they filled the sandwich up with steak and toppings! So Much Meat! The fries were the only let down for me. You can tell there was a seasoning on the fries that was not my favorite. Then they put cheese on top of the fries and it just did not go well for me. I went to the game day pop up stand on university avenue expecting a quality cheesesteak. However, I was quite disappointed when I was served a below average cheesesteak topped with a subpar nacho cheese. The service was fine, but it's obvious that the business was relying on customers being drunk. I couldn't even finish it despite being very hungry. Felt like the worst kind of county fair food. This is a trendy dive. The neat caricatures of the friendly food outside of the restaurant seemed to have beckoned for me to come inside so I did. I really liked the baseball pictures on the walls throughout the restaurant. While I was waiting for my turn to be served, I checked in on yelp and took a photo or two. It was old home week for the manager and the customer ahead of me then there was some back and forth between the cook and the manager at which time a few more customers came in. Things were moving slowly, and this gave me a chance to come to my senses. I needed a reason to get out of there for the sake of my New Year's goals, so I left. For what it is, I'd give it 5 stars if it wasn't for 1 thing: I ordered the combo, a simple regular philly, fries and drink....and it was $20. Then worse is the basically forced tip when using a card that starts higher than the usual tip amount. I don't bat an eye at tipping 20%-25% at a restaurant that actually serves you. This is fast food. It cooked a couple minutes, she dropped it off at the table, and what exactly about that was entitled to a 25% tip on what was already a $20 lunch? I wouldn't go back here unless I had a serious craving for a Philly and didn't mind getting bent over while ordering it. I'm far from cheap, but it's the principle of the business practice. I came by during the off peak hours and everyone was not only cleaning but they were actually smiling too. They're extremely polite and welcoming making us feel more like guests rather than"another pesky customer bugging us while we're goofing off". That's the norm these days it seems, but not at Big Mills! What's more, it's been consistent in every aspect. The menu and food: The menu is pretty limited, but there are times when it's better that way, allowing the staff to deliver a very consistent product with fewer chances for disaster. A quirky baseball-themed spot, I visited Big Mill's after passing by it so many times with curiosity. Although I'm dairy-free, the love of cheesesteaks has not been lost on me and I thought I'd live life on the edge a bit! I've lived in Gainesville for quite some time now and I've never ever heard about this place! My friends and I were in the mood to try something different and we decided that cheesesteaks sounded delicious. I thought the restaurant was cutely baseball themed and after we got there, it got quite busy! I ordered the original cheesesteak, which came with steak, cheese (I chose provolone) and peppers. What I loved was that I could add any amount of other toppings that I wanted - so I added giardiniera (pickles peppers SOOOO GOOD), tomatoes and lettuce! The regular size is a decent size and I was so full after devouring my sandwich. My boyfriend got the largest size, which is the 12 inch and it was a LOT of food! We also ordered chili cheese fries which was good, but I felt like the cheese could have been more fresh because it seemed kind of old and thick versus freshly melted cheddar cheese on top of the fries. I'm giving this place 4 stars because I felt like I've definitely had better cheesesteaks before and this one to me was not the greatest. This small joint always has amazing customer service, food served fresh, and sports playing on the TV. I would highly recommend the fries as well, they have a great seasoning they add to it and try the "mills" sauce. It is their signature sauce and is similar to a thousand island type sauce. Customer service Poor: The cashier Sarah was very welcoming; however the "owner"picks and choose who he wants to speak too and check up on. The Owner look me right in the face and did not speak or ask me about my food, instead he asked the two (mother & daughter) behind me how was everything and could he do anything to help- oh yeah and he also spoke to them. To top it off the Cook came out to get a drink and asked the two how was everything, mind you I'm sitting right next to them. Ambulance: The Decor suits the cuisine. A few tables were not clean.
