Finally got to try this place at Smorgasburg Prospect Park! They were the very first vendor we stopped at. The mozz sticks were great--crazy cheese pull and super crunchy. Staff was friendly and the wait time was relatively short.

Went to their booth at the Bryant Park Holiday Shops. Excellent mozzarella sticks freshly fried to order. The breading on the outside was nicely seasoned and wasn't too thick. They were fried pretty perfectly so it was crispy without feeling greasy. The cheese instead was appropriately melty. For $10 though, it was a pretty small portion. It did come with marinara sauce to dip the mozzarella sticks into, but it still felt like a bit much to pay $10 for four mozzarella sticks. Four for $6 and eight for $10 would have been much easier to stomach. Price aside, the mozzarella sticks were one of the best things we ate at the Bryant Park shops.

After eating at three+ places at Smorgasburg's Winter Market in Atlantic Terminal, I hesitated when I came to Big Mozz because 1) I was already a little full and unsure if I should get anything else, and 2) "all mozzarella sticks are basically the same, right?" I will never live down that terrible lie now that I've had Big Mozz. It's $10 for four mozzarella sticks with marinara, which is pricey, but I'm not mad about it after I tasted them. I have truly never had anything like it and when I say it was life changing, I mean it. They are fried perfectly. Crispy and flavorful because they add seasoning and Parmesan over the breaded part... an amazing addition. And there is so. much. cheese. They don't skimp like lots of places do, so that alone makes these stand out. Plus, their partnership with Cookie Do to make the fried cookie dough bites.... I've had these twice now and will never get over them. It's $10 for 6 cookie dough balls, and again it's a little pricey, but they are so insanely good. Go here. Get anything and everything. You won't regret it.

It's just another mozzarella stick right?..... WRONG!!!!!! The mozzarella sticks from Big Mozz are amazing! The perfect amount of crunchy on the outside .. and the perfect amount of gooey on the inside. And don't get me started on that cheese pull.. That cheese pull is other-worldly. And that bread crumb seasoning?! Let's not even go there either because it cannot be put into wor Will I go as far as saying that they're the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had? Yes. Yes I will. Because they are! My views on those cheesy sticks of deliciousness that I used to call mozzarella sticks has changed. Is it just another mozzarella stick?... No! It's Big Mozz! (Insert heart eyes here)

Amazing mozzarella sticks cooked to perfection. Picked this place at smorgasbord and glad that I did. The only reason I gave it four stars and not five is for the price, $10 for four mozzarella sticks but you got to expect that in Brooklyn

The best mozzarella sticks ive EVER had. If I could give this place 100 stars I would. Perfectly cheesy and fried to perfection! Delicious dipping sauce as well. Favorite spot to pop by at smorgasburg! Highly recommend!

Fried cookie dough bites were very rich and slightly heavy. One is enough. Lemonade tastes like bottled lemon juice you get at the supermarket poured over ice. I didn't have the mozzarella sticks... I'm gonna have to give it another go bc a few customers were raving about it so maybe it was just an off day for me... Maybe next time.

I tried Big Mozz at Broadway Bites near Herald Square - so delish! Hot and gooey and everything I needed on a cold day. Split an order of four with a friend and we had lots of fun cheese-pullin. Highly recommend for a snack on the go.

The mozarella sticks were good, but they were nothing special and they were way overpriced. They look delicious and the appeal is that they are larger sticks than your typical mozzarella sticks, but they were overrated. I got mine at Electric Zoo festival, so they might be different than the ones at the actual shop, but I still think they were not worth it.

    Tasty sticks o'cheese.

Had some Big Mozz at Boston Calling. They are so effen tasty, that's not the booze talking. Ten bucks, 4 large sticks and a side of marinara. Tip... take the marinara and throw it away. The sticks are perfect on their own.

These are the best mozzarella sticks I've ever eaten by far. The breading is perfectly fried and seasoned well. The sauce pairs well with it, and the cheese pull game is strong too. I would highly recommend to check out Big Mozz at Smorgasbord and their stall in Chelsea Market.

    Mozzarella Sticks with Pesto Sauce

Big Mozz is one of the stands I usually go to at Smorgasburg. They must be the most expensive mozzarella sticks ever. $10 for only 4 sticks, granted they are very large and cheesy. I guess I can't complain since everything at Smorgasburg is expensive and I will gladly pay however much for my beloved mozzarella sticks. I tried Big Mozz first at Smorgasburg in Propsect Park and then at Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. Thank god they got rid of their pesto sauce and replaced it with marinara like how it's supposed to be. The sticks themselves were crispy on the outside, but super cheesy on the inside and had that delicious pull of cheese that makes me love mozzarella sticks. Delicious, especially if made fresh to order.

We had their mozzarella sticks at a weekend Schmorgasburg. It is a large portion and is absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the $10. You will likely want a few.

Sticks were burned. Oiled needed to be changed. Glad I paid $10 for breadcrumbs because all of the cheese leaked out in the fryer.

BUT, imho Adel's doesn't really taste as good as the original Halal Guys in terms of flavor and fragrance. The chicken from Adel's is in bigger chunks and some argue is more tender, but the flavor is definitely not close. Also, it's important that it comes with lettuce, tomatoes and a little onion to balance everything out. Finally, You must get both the spicy red and white sauce together to make it all come together! The Ugly: The smell is addictive, so if you walk by, it's hard to resist, even if you've just eaten a nice meal somewhere else. We couldn't resist. Gotta hit the gym hard for the next few days!

And that line is no joke. You will wait. Plan accordingly. Here's my dilemma: every single time I eat here, my stomach lets me know about it later. Without fail. I've tried adjusting the hot sauce, going easy on portions... doesn't matter. Something about this food and my digestive system just don't agree. At this point I have to accept that it's probably not for me. So why do I keep coming back? Because at 2 AM after a late night, when everything else is closed and you're starving in Times Square, that platter of chicken and rice over white sauce smells like salvation. They're the only game in town at that hour, and honestly, in the moment, it hits. It's the next morning I regret it. If your stomach handles it better than mine, you'll probably love it. The food is tasty and the portions are huge for the price. I just wish I could enjoy it without paying for it twice.

We visited twice, both times after 10 PM, and despite the notoriously long lines, the staff kept things moving efficiently. The wait looked intimidating at first, but the operation runs like a well-oiled machine, and once you get your food, you'll understand why so many people are willing to stand in line. The Spicy Rice Combo was out of this world. The flavors were bold, perfectly seasoned, and packed with just the right amount of heat. Every bite delivered that classic NYC halal cart experience but elevated to another level. The fries were equally impressive--crispy, fresh, and the perfect complement to the meal. What really stood out was the atmosphere. There's something special about grabbing incredible food late at night alongside locals, tourists, and food lovers all gathered for the same reason. The energy, the anticipation, and ultimately the food itself made for a memorable experience. Yes, the lines are long. Yes, it's late at night. And yes, it's 100% worth the wait. Since I'm a survivor, I thought it only appropriate to take Jamie to the original flagship location and order what else but the Recession Special. Sure enough, they still offer it for $7.50.
