After a short hiatus, it's good to be reviewing restaurants again. And where better for a middle-aged man than the Big Wang, with its 'broiled hairfail'? Taken here to celebrate a Chinese friend's birthday, I had my first taste of genuine Chinese food, and it was wonderful. While they have a lot of offal dishes, our selection included a white fish in chiili sauce, stewed beef, squid and vegetables. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, the food was presented beautifully and the camomile tea was a genuine import. My only gripe (this is a review, after all) is that they have plastic furniture but then this is the Welford Road not the West End. I only wish I had discovered them sooner.
