Al Bacio serves authentic Italian dishes made by an Italian chef, who uses fresh ingredients and takes pride in all his dishes. Let me quote myself from my first review: "First glance at the menu might make you say that it's quite pricey; but if you factor in the price of importing quality goods from Italy, the effort it takes to make everything in house (dressing, sauces, bread, pasta, and pizza dough) AND the VIP treatment you get from the wonderful staff: the price point is completely reasonable." Restaurant is named after the designer of the Eiffel Tower: Alexandre Gustav Eiffel. There's a model of the Eiffel Tower out front: makes for a great photo op. On their wall, you can read an interesting story about how the Eiffel Tower came to be. It's a cozy and elegant place decorated in beautiful wood tones, with comfy tufted armchairs (even the baby high chairs have tufted backs), and dark glass tables that beautifully reflect the wall art. Nothing much to say about the servers; they just take your order and deliver the food. They're not very warm nor helpful; they couldn't even answer simple questions about their desserts. We ordered a chocolate cake and a choco mint frappe. The cake was rich and decadent but on the stale side. The shake tasted awful! I usually love the combination of chocolate and mint, but this tasted like minty toothpaste UGH! The only reason I would give them a second chance is because it's a nice place to escape the crowded mall and hang out. Next time we'll try out the food. DINE IN DURING PANDEMIC…read more One way in, one way out, mask/face shield/temp/alcohol hand wash/questionnaire mandatory when walk in. Most patrons and workers wore only masks. Staff are friendly and shout greetings as you enter. They're hardworking, efficient and you can ask any one of them for assistance. You order at the counter then they bring the food to your table. Many menu items are not available, so ask before ordering to prevent disappointment. After ordering we chose to sit at the table furthest away and most isolated from the others. There was a screen and a fan facing away from us: hubby said it was to blow the Covid germs the other direction HAHA! They have a nice, spacious dining area with comfortable seating both inside and outside. We ordered the sausage breakfast. The "toast" was very pale, next time I'll have to tell them "well done". Other than the toast, breakfast here is always a solid choice. Because of the pandemic we rarely go out, so to celebrate we had the Tiramisu Macaron and Affogato for dessert. The ice cream in the Affogato was too sweet for me to eat by itself; but it balanced perfectly when paired with the bitterness of the coffee, not bad. The macaron, on the other hand, was meh. I'm sure it would have tasted much better fresh from the bakery; but the macaron was already stale. I'm sure we'll be back when we're in the area.
