We were in town for a few days during our summer RV trip when one of our e-bikes got a flat tire. We took it over to Bighorn Bike Shop and found the front door open but the lights off, which was a little odd. A technician came out from the back, and I explained that I had a 26" e-bike with Tannus Armour liners and needed a tube replaced. Without even looking at the bike, his immediate response was, "I don't want to mess with that." I said, "No problem, I'll find another shop." As we were leaving, he followed us outside and asked if I was sure the bike had Tannus liners. Yes--I paid a reputable bike shop to install them, so I'm pretty confident they're in there. Then he asked how I got a flat with liners installed? I'm not a bike tech, I was riding and then all the air left. That's all I know. He then stood behind my Jeep explaining how easy the repair was. If it's that easy, I'm not sure why the shop refused to do the work. I was happy to pay whatever their labor rate was just to get back on the road. I ended up calling my home bike shop, which gave me the correct tube size and a few tips over the phone. They were right--the repair was straightforward, and I had it fixed myself. Their staff had outstanding customer service and was helped going through hiking apparel, trying on jackets, questions and options. The lady who helped me provided excellent service to be sure I found exactly what I was needing and was very knowledgeable. Fantastic customer service and attention to detail. I used Bighorn to disassemble and package a road bike in order to ship it across the country, and dealt with the store entirely by phone. From start to finish, they were extremely helpful and friendly--they made the whole experience really easy. Moreover, when the bike arrived to its destination, it was clear that the Bighorn team took the time and care to package the components really well (wrapping fragile parts in foam, etc.). (And the final cost of packing and shipping was lower than what they originally quoted me.) This is NOT your go-to bike store. Knickerbiker did not have the tires we needed, so my husband went to BIG HORN as a last resort, since he hadn't the time to drive to Missoula. He put a hole in his tube on a test ride of his race wheels. He expressed his need for a new tube (which requires the removal of the old tube, the glue to be stripped, new glue applied and a new tube put on). They took on the task, which is not exactly a challenge for a bike shop. You just require the energy, proper supplies and KNOWLEDGE! My husband needed his wheel back in one week. I got a call on the day before he needed it saying it was ready for pick up. I went to the store and the bike "mechanic" handed me his wheel and a bottle of Pit Stop...which is essentially "Fix-a-Flat" for road bike tires. I was horrified! I didn't mean to have the reaction, but the first thing out of my mouth was, "Are you serious?" I was so caught off guard. He said that taking the glue off would require a lot of extra work, in not-so-many words, so he used Pit Stop stating, "They have a good reputation." Does he understand what Pit Stop is? I stated that he had a championship race in a month that would require a new tube, which is what we came in to replace. He said they didn't have time to do that?! After nearly one, full week, he stated that he had put the Pit Stop in that morning, and "it has held." He also went on to state to me how triathletes don't normally use this type of tire because of...yada yada yada. After years of racing at this sport at this level...the input from a bike shop that cannot do a tubular change is not necessary, and frankly, inappropriate. I suppose I could shorten this to say it was extremely insulting and so unimpressive that we will now be moving to a reputable shop in Missoula that was recommended by a pro friend. It will be worth the trip to get the experience and service expected when someone takes in your expensive equipment and you get the results you walked in for. Asked for a tubular change, came out with Pit Stop a week later. Tell me how that is acceptable. The shop looked as if it had good selection, but due to this issue, we will not be giving it another shot. Knickerbiker has gained all our business for simple requests...and the Missoula shop will take all our other business...such as **complicated** tire changes. read more

They are always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help us out. The owner really knows the products he sells and is a great source of information for the Great Falls area.
