There are many vintage clothing stores around Sydney, however many of them would be more…read moreappropriately categorised as overpriced junk shops. I am blown away sometimes by how some of these shops stay in business as they are not selling good clothes and what they are selling could be picked up at any St Vin's or Salvo's shop for a fraction of the price. Reuze Vintage in Paddington does not fit into this category but is rather offering quality vintage stock. A relatively new shop, Reuze is more geared towards women and with much lacy garments and formal clothing for both men and women, it is not a shop, which particularly appeals to my sense of style, but none the less their clothes are high in quality and providing a fashion style many people will love.

I stumbled upon this place last week and fell in love. With everything. The owner has done a…read morewonderful job of collating a killer wardrobe full of clothes, jewellery, shoes, hats, bags and collectables. Girls who like vintage clothes will be in heaven - there's actually so much to go through that I had to take a time out and go back another day. While some dresses are around the $100 mark (some worth it, others only racking up the dollars because they're old), there's also a great range for $25, which is a steal considering all the love and effort that went into making clothes back in the day. Yes, you could probably spend your weekends trawling op shops to find similar items at a fraction of the price, but here all the hard work has been done for you and it's definitely worth supporting a local shop owner taking a brave leap.

There are two Bikini Islands within half a block of each other on Campbell Parade. One (this one!)…read moreis a clearance store and the other stocks the non-clearance stuff. In fact every third shop on Campbell Pde seems to at least stock swimwear if not a specialty beach gear shop. Bikini Island has a really good range, with tops and bottoms sold separately- for those of us who don't fit the pre-set size standards imposed by swimwear designers or who like to mix & match. The clearance store stocks some of my favourite swimwear designers (Zimmerman, Tigerlily etc) as well as Bikini Island's own label which is decent and pretty cheap! If you end up at the beach without swimmers it's not going to break your wallet to pop in here and pick up a new costume and they also stock towels, goggles - most things you'd require for a day frolicking on Bondi Beach.

I really don't like shopping for swimsuits but stopped in for a hat and noticed the high quality of…read morethe material on suits and returned next day. SO thankful I did! I literally walked in, told lovely Tess sales woman, exactly what I was looking for, and in less than 5 minutes I had the best looking and fitting bikini I have ever owned! Not only that but she taught me how to fit the fabric to work for me!!! It was truly the best shopping experience I have had in the longest time! I'm sending all my friends to see her now! Thank you!!!

Ruby & Min is a pop-in store. A pop-in store should not be confused with a pop-up store since the…read morelatter is not around for long and was therefore never designed to earn customer loyalty. This, women's boutique however, might. In fact, probably does. You - or as is my habit, I - pop in at moment's notice before or after coffee and brunch at Woollahra (this is very convenient since the store is ((again)) very conveniently located on Queen St in between all the cafes and general brunch spots) and see what's around. There's JuicyBear clothing (not juicy, but comfy tops and tees) of which I have one from here, and other designer-y stuff from Theresa Rawsthorne and Gary Bigeni among a few others. There's also undergarments (not much and designer-kind again), jewelry and heels. A women's dream, yes, but you won't always find something at Ruby&Min. Which is why you need to intermittently pop-in. Another reason to do so is because bargains exist here. There are two changing rooms at the back (with mirrors!) and the ladies working here are genuinely really nice and genuinely really helpful.

I always stop by Ruby & Min when I am shopping in the eastern suburbs.
