    Dark and stormy
    Katie R.

Came to this hole in the wall cash-only tiki bar while waiting for a seat at a nearby restaurant. It was a Friday night and aside from our group there were only about 4 others there. We ordered a mix of cocktails, beers, and shots and I got a dark and stormy from the tiki list. It was a cool enough dive bar, but it was oddly quiet. They had a jukebox that you could pay to pick the songs, but as soon as the songs we picked ran out the music went off and it was silent. Felt a little uncomfortable and too divey for what we were feeling that night.

Trista the bartender was so friendly. Made great drinks! Love the dive vibes. Bought a glow in the dark tshirt! Support your local business!

This is a nice little hole in the wall bar that I stumbled across while I was going to see the Prince Mural. It has indoor dining seating (hi-tops and booths), bar seating and a modest fenced in patio area with a few tables. They have music playing throughout the inside. There is metered street parking within a reasonable walking distance. The bar is dimly lit and decorated with colorful Christmas lights. You will find a digital juke box here to get the party started, but they also have music playing if you did not want to select your favorites jams from the juke box. It is important to note that the bar is cash only, but they do have an ATM inside to get cash though. They have a wide selection of your tropical tiki favorites, which are my favorites. If was a tough choice, but I got a Mr Howell and Freaky Tiki. They were very savory, and did not last long. All of the bar's signature cocktails are $9, which makes it simple. The bartender was friendly. The bar seems to have its regulars and he was very familiar with most of the patrons. This chill bar is definitely worth checking out.

A fun start to our night began at the Bikini Lounge after a friend referred us to pay a visit. Mary really knows how to prepare great cocktails and how to take care of her guests! This dive bar establishment has been around since 1947, which makes it a must visit! Don't forget to bring cash...but there is an ATM in the bar just in case you forget!

I love tiki dive bars and this one has been around forever (since the 40's). Bikini Lounge is located on legendary Grand Ave in Phx. A group of us came by here for some drinks before a show and had a fun time here. Drinks are affordable and strong and are cash only (there is an ATM inside). The decor here includes tiki masks, wooden statues, and cool vintage paintings in a dim light setting. I personally enjoyed our bartender's fun witty humor while she was making our drinks. This is not some upscale fancy bar, but a great place to chill over good drinks and conversation with good music playing in the background. Bikini Lounge occasionally has a DJ and there is a pool table in the back. Heads up - the parking lot can be a little sketchy.

Bikini lounge is not what I expected because I didn't know what to expect. A definite hole in the wall spot with relaxed vibes and a cool bartender named Mikey. Seemed like a lot of regulars are around and just there to relax. Jukebox controls the music and the drinks aren't expensive. There is a pool table but good luck getting your turn as people bring their own sticks so it's tough luck on that one. Stop by and check it out!

I love dive bars, and apparently, this one is the oldest running bar in Phoenix. When we first walked in, the bar was pretty empty but soon got pretty busy. The bartender (I believe Mary is her name) was very friendly and checked on us regularly. I first ordered a lava flow, which looked so pretty and was really good. The bar is dark and the decor is tiki inspired. There is a pool table and jukebox. If you love dive bars and cheep drinks I would recommend bikini lounge. The only downside is it is warm inside so maybe go once the weather cools down.

They had some yummy Jell-O shots and my friends ordered drinks that were good by their standards. I was hungry so no food meant no drinks for me just yet. That's not even the issue. My friend works at a bar, she's industry, and she got off and came to Lucky's to meet me and they wouldn't let her in. Apparently they stopped letting people in sometime after 1am. I was watching dozens of people walk in all of a sudden I get a call from my friend saying they won't let her in. We're all over the age of 30 so it has nothing to do with our IDs. She got denied because of the time on the clock only. So strange. I had already ordered her a whiskey sour before last call and so I went to the bartender to say "hey can you give me my money back because you guys won't even let my friend in the bar to drink this drink". And I felt so bad because she had just got off work. She couldn't even find parking so she had to walk all the way from her house just to get to Lucky's. And she couldn't drink the whiskey sour that I had prepared for her. That's like literally the worst Customer Service that can even happen at a bar. Like that's crazy. I don't know any bars that don't let people in after 1am. Gracie's will let me in at 1:59 AM literally. They have a line at 1:30am Cornish doesn't even kick people out until 2:30 AM and I'm not saying that people should bend the rules and do illegal shit, but they should have let my one friend into the bar this one time before 2 AM hits so that she could finish her drink that was already made and ready to be downed. So yeah an exception should have been made. Also I've shown up here at last call many times with no issues. I showed up during last call this night, that's why I ordered a drink right away for a friend that wasn't there yet. You would think that bartenders would understand that someone else who works at a bar really needed to get into the bar after a Saturday shift. I went to the bouncers outside to ask them to let her in and they dead ass thought I was trying to leave with my drink. They said "well you can't leave with your drink" like 3 times, I'm 31 I know the laws, this lil 22 year old man just kept saying I can't leave with my drink I DONT EVEN DRINK MY DUDE. I was trying to show them that I have a full drink that was just poured for my friend and that I just need her to get inside so that she could drink it. That took 5 minutes because they couldn't comprehend what I was asking. Yes, they should have made an exception and yes they should have let her inside to finish her drink. It was a shitty experience. We went to sazerac and got drinks immediately after leaving luckys at 1:50am.... And my friend was served immediately with a discount because she's industry. We go to luckys a lot and I've never known this rule. I'm not saying it's a fake rule but I'm just saying we show up after 1:30 all the time the rule has never touched my ears once in my life until last night. I didnt even want my money back tbh, what I wanted was to be taken care of hospitality wise. ITS A BAR. And the bartender gave me my money back all weird like it affected her at all she kinda rolled her eyes and that's fine, because I'm not coming back. I still tipped a dollar because it took 10 minutes for a bartender to look at me. I usually tip a lot more but it was slow service last night. So it was a pitty dollar

Great food (hot crisp tots) and a jukebox full of happiness. I came here for the first time due to VIVA PHX. I live north of town, and had no idea this place existed. I do now! The booths are cozy, and the outside is pleasant.* It's a great spot for live music under the stars. And the staff - they are - like - nicer than I've even thought possible in a bar nowadays. I was there during happy hour last week and was offered a pitcher or a pint. I got the pint, but it went down so fast I needed another. The barkeep laughed and said "I knew you should have gotten the pitcher. I'll only charge you the difference in cost for the second beer." The difference? $3. Place was packed on a Monday night and by 11pm, more people showed up. Reminded me so much of NYC. We sat down at the bar and bartender was prompt and helpful. I ordered a mezcal margarita and he had a wheat style draft beer. Conversation locked in sync just as we had been years ago, drinks went by quick and before you know it, it was time for round 2. He had a Jameson on the rocks and I went with a smoky mezcal on the rocks. He was hungry and ordered a chopped cheese, reminiscent of NYC but no idea if it was good, but he polished it off quick. Jukebox was playing and we both weren't exactly excited by the music, but sometimes good conversation and staring into the eyes of your former special someone drowned it all out. Needless to say, I will remember this place for a long time to come. We headed out into the warm Phoenix night, clear, dark and while not drunk from the drinks, I was intensely buzzing from what suprises would unfold, it always ends in trouble, especially with this all too dangerous hunky beefcake. Perfect date spot with someone that can appreciate dives. I'll remember you Gracie's, stay cool and fun.
