They don't just use sick fur babies as a payday. We lost our baby Thor last week and John and his team were fantastic in helping us. He made our baby's last few days as comfortable as possible and really helped us in feeling we weren't alone with this heartache. We are truly grateful for all they have done and have now moved all my other fur babies to this vets as me and my partner know they will be great hands xxxxx

This review is a warning to anyone wishing to bring their pet here thinking he is still there but unfortunately he has retired and the building has been taking over by a franchise. It is now Limerick City Vets, they push products and add unnecessary treatments to the bill, while not preforming procedures opted for and doing such a bad job on my dog that she will be disfigured for life.

On Tuesday 13 January 2026 my two dogs ate sausages while on a walk in Ballincollig. These sausages had been laced with poison. We got to Sunbeam after a diversion to another vet when they both became very distressed, the vet on dudty did manage to stabilise my two for the onward journey to Sunbeam For that I am thankful but the communication and empathy from the head vet there was dreadful! Sunbeam had the night team ready and waiting for us and they successfully kept my dogs alive that night and over the next 8 days. My dogs are now home but would not be so if it wasn't for the professionalism, experience and hard work by all the team at Sunbeam Northpoint who went above and beyond to keep my dogs alive and enable them to survive this vicious poisoning. It was very touch and go for the first 5 days with only a cautiously optimistic being mentioned on day 6. The day and night teams updated me regularly, and I really appreciated those calls every morning and late at night. As Lady and Earl, improved it was evident on my daily visits to see them that from the reception staff to the nursing and veterinary staff, the entire team were so invested in their care. Earl and Lady, being Weimaraners can be standoffish with people but my dogs became very attached to all the team at Sunbeam as witnessed by a recent return visit when they rushed in the door, tails wagging to see who was on !! Earl and Lady have told me in confidence that Sunbeam has " the best humans ever" on site. This review is to thank the wonderful people at Sunbeam not only for their veterinary knowledge but for their compassion, kindness and empathetic communication. If you are a new pet owner, this is the place in Cork to bring your pet for excellent veterinary care served up with kindness and professionalism.

I actually completed placement here when I was younger so I have seen every inch of the practice and can attest to it's high standards. It boasts modern equipment and techniques. Offering a large range of services. The staff are polite, professional and friendly. John Garrahy himself is a very calm, professional veterinarian. My dog is treated regularly for usual treatments such as de-worming and vaccinations to treatment for his lung polyps, sensitive skin and tummy. They have a fabulous selection of medicated food and shampoo available. Are more than willing to try a natural approach, so they are not quick to unnecessarily medicate your pet. Prices are on the higher end of the scale but the quality of care you get is second to none. There is an out of hours number you can contact for emergencies. They have two clinics, one based in Limerick and the other in Shannon, Co.Clare. And while it is not something they advertise, if you are a long term loyal customer at this practice, they are willing to negotiate a payment plan with you should your pet find itself in need of an expensive and unprecedented treatment. When billing you, the clinic rounds down, not up so you do save money. And they regularly cut their food stock to have price for it's clients. I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this clinic. Claire is my pets favourite veterinarian to visit, he just adores her!!!
