This place is one of the best kept secrets in Louisiana. It may take some time to find your way but it will be well worth the drive. Also, you may want to call first because this gallery is their home! This home is over 100 years old and has been completely renovated. Most of the furniture was made by Bill Rice himself or one of his son-in-laws (a very talented family). His paintings are on all of the walls in every room, his hand painted and hand carved carvings are all around in the decor. The wood sculpturesof the Louisiana water fowl are so real you would believe that he had mounted them himself (because he used to be a taxidermist). The sculptures are of Great Blue Herrin, White Egret or even hummingbirds in their nest! If everything goes as usual you will usually be invited to coffee (the best!) and home made spice cake or pumpkin bread or spiced tea. They like to visit and make you feel at home. You won't meet two nicer people than Bill and Loretta Rice.
