Bill Smith sold me a Samsung Refrigerator that doesn't make ice and is the subject of a class action lawsuit alleging defective ice makers!!!! Then when I call to repair, they send someone over knowing full well that the only way to repair is to purchase an additional ice maker upgrade (almost $600 with labor!) We were promised a temporary one since our family was arriving for Thanksgiving. On Friday, August 28, 2020, we bought a new LG washer and LG dryer to replace our existing aging washer and dryer, from Bill Smith Appliances on Marco Island. We specifically chose Bill Smith's because we feel it is important to support the local businesses on Marco Island. The new appliances were delivered and installed on Monday August 31st and the old washer and dryer removed. The service people who installed the new appliances and removed the old appliances did a wonderful job. They were extremely careful to not damage/mar any of the walls when bringing in the new equipment and removing the old equipment. The were also extremely careful not to scratch any of the flooring in the laundry room when installing the appliances in the final location. So I give the installation team a five star rating. Tuesday, Sept 1, we did our first load of laundry. At the end of the dry cycle the LG dryer displayed a D80 error code, indicating that the vent had a blockage. Since the venting was new and installed with the dryer, I immediately called Bill Smith. They arranged to have a service tech come to our home the next day, Sept 2. The service tech showed up on schedule. I explained the issue. He then checked the venting and said the wrong vent was installed for the LG dryer. It needed a metal vent instead of the aluminum vent that was installed and advised me to call Bill Smith service to arrange for the replacement venting. Being curious, I asked him how he was able to diagnose this issue so quickly. His response was that he sees this issue about once a week! So why is this dryer continually sold with the incorrect vent? After the service guy left I called Bill Smith Service and explained the problem. They said I would need to talk to our salesman to get a replacement. I was then told our salesman was not in that day and either his manager would call me back or my salesman would call me back the next day, Thursday Sept 3rd by 4PM. On Thursday I did not get a call back, so I called our salesman and explained the problem. He did not understand why the venting that was installed was incorrect and said he would call service and either get back to me by 5PM, or first thing Friday Sept 4th. I did not get a call back on Friday. Monday was Labor Day. By 4PM on Tuesday Sept 8th I still did not get a return call, so I called the salesman again. I had to repeat the issue and was then put on hold while he re-checked our records. He then came back on the line and apologized for not returning my call and for installing the wrong vent. He said a service tech would be out on Friday with the new vent and I would be called on Thursday September 10th confirming the time he would arrive on Friday. No call on Thursday. So, I call on Friday morning to find out when the service tech would arrive and was told my wife was called and informed, he would be here between 10 and noon. After ending the call with service, I checked with my wife. She did not receive a call. So, I call back. This time I am told that the service tech would be here between 11AM and 2PM. I asked why I was previously told that my wife was notified the service tech would arrive between ten and noon when she had not received a call. Turns out whoever had provided me with that information was looking at a previously scheduled service call on Sept 2nd. The service tech did arrive at about 11AM and did install a new vent. Hopefully that will fix the dryer issue. But Bill Smith Appliances needs to do have a good look at their customer service processes and procedures to insure the issues I encountered don't continue to happen. read more

My father is a 92 year old eye surgeon, who practiced for 60 years building a practice that included 2 pro hockey teams, and A seat on the boxing commission as well as a place in the Boxing Hall of Fame, who still, to this day, donates his time examining low income migrants for the Lions Club. My mother, ( the Cook who most used the range) A nurse for 30 years, is 86, and recently been diagnosed with cancer. These are the "big bad inciters of violent behavior" according to Bill Smith.Chris Riching, We would love a public hearing... by a mediator, as we have never sought anything other than what we purchased, nothing more, nothing less. My parents purchased the range and the warrantee and they have received nothing but lip service from this dying Bill Smith. Just want to let you know that I had the WORST experience at your company. I went in to your Naples location on Sunday Jan 23, 2022. There was a pleasant woman who greeted the couple in front of us and went to show them around. My friend and I were waiting to be greeted......NOTHING. We were standing in front of the front desk where three heads were faced down into paperwork and did not look up. There were all of 6 customers in this store considering I arrived 15 minutes after they opened. Two couples were with sales people and my friend and I are standing there with no greeting. After about 5 minutes I cleared my throat to get someones attention and a man looked up from the desk and said can I help you with something? I said Umm yes, I am looking to buy ALL new appliances and I saw your add on line that you have package specials so I wanted to get an idea, and take a look. He said to me, I have nothing on the floor to show you... I said what ? These items are advertised and he said I only have 2 brands to show you and they aren't any of the ones advertised. Then I said well what about ordering them? He said they are 7 months out or longer and we can't guarantee anything. Then I said well what do we do if we were to order? He said I would a deposit but still no guarantee. As we were speaking, he kept looking down and not interested at all in any of my questions. Ive never been treated so disrespectful in my life. He didn't even get up and ask can I show you etc. He was very rude. I know his name is Steve and he was so unprofessional. I ended up going to Best Buy and was greeted by a very nice gentleman who explained in details everything I needed to know about measurements, time frames etc. I bought a refrigerator, washer, dryer, microwave, stove , dishwasher and over... Stinks that your business could've made a significant sale but due to the poor customer service, false advertisement and general awful experience , I received I will NEVER be back..... We had a refrigerator installed last Thursday after waiting six months to get it it had a knocking sound and we were told that was normal it would go away in 24 hours, we listened to it the entire night. Friday morning Mark came to install the dishwasher he heard the knocking noise and even recorded it and reported it to Bill Smith's we waited Friday to hear from them and heard nothing. Saturday we stopped in and told them that it was still knocking and driving us crazy, Michelle the manager was very nice and said she would report it to service which I was under the impression it had already been reported to service. Monday morning came around and we were still listening to this knocking sound since last Thursday which was extremely annoying-- it's constant. I called the service department and they said it would probably be October 22 before a tech could come out and look at it ---this is unacceptable customer service ! No one wants to be listening to this knocking sound this entire time we are not very happy with the Smiths right now they did say they could try to send someone on the 13th which will be tomorrow and I explained to them we would be gone in the afternoon and they said they will call tomorrow and let us know when they will be coming so hopefully this will work out she also said since they're sending someone on the 13th that they're going to take us off the schedule for the 22nd I told her please do not do that, that this knocking noise needs to be taken care of ASAP this is unacceptable customer service! It is now Tuesday afternoon and I'm sitting in my bedroom which is next to the kitchen listening to this constant very annoying sound , needless to say I am not happy with customer service From Bill Smith. It is six days and we're still listening to this noise! Its hard to believe that the service side of a business could be so bad. Purchased a $9000 refrigerator about 1 year ago. Had a couple power failures and today they came out and replaced the seal, not sure what that has to do with the power failure, but OK. Called and spoke to the service center, nice lady but what she asked was that when the problem happens again, take video, so I asked again, take a video of the frig with no power to prove the issue, she confirmed this multiple times. OK, so when it fails, I'll take a video of a dead frig and that will show the problem? My frustration with the service levels will certainly keep me from every purchasing another item. Bought a set of Samsung appliances (refrigerator, range, microwave, D/W) in October '15. Also purchased the 2 year Bill Smith extended warranty. In less than 2 years the refrigerator has needed 2 repairs, dishwasher 2, range 1. My fault for spending over $4000 for these appliances, thinking I made a good decision. However, the worst decision I made was trusting the sales pitch regarding service after the sale. When these appliances have failed, the B.S. service department has scheduled us up to 2 weeks out. Every time, parts then need to be ordered- another week or 2. Only after they receive the parts do they schedule the return trip! A typical repair takes about 3 weeks to complete. This is a complete failure at the management level. I was assured at the sale the warehouse at Bill Smith was well stocked with parts and waiting would not be an issue. As I write this, we are waiting for an ice maker part for the refrigerator (called 10 days ago) and our dishwasher "wonder wall" just failed again after 11 days. read more

I went in to purchase a Bosch dishwasher and told the salesman I was interested in the 500 series. He showed me two different dishwashers, I chose one, and he wrote up the order. I went to my car and looked up the model number on Bosch's website and it was the 300 series, a cheaper model. I then went back into the store and spoke to a different salesman and he said oh, it was the other dishwasher that was the 500 series, so he re-wrote the order for the more expensive dishwasher. I again went back to my car and looked up the model on the Bosch website and this dishwasher was also the 300 series. These two salesmen lied to me, told me I was purchasing the 500 series when in fact I was not. Again I returned to the store but this time cancelled my order. I then went to hhgregg in Naples and Scott, the Outside Sales Manager, explained each of the dishwashers in the 300, 500, 800, and Benchmark series. He was knowledgeable and gave me a quote for all the models and spec sheets so I could compare before making a decision. We just purchased several very high-end Sub-Zero/Wolf appliances from Bill Smith Appliance in Naples. Two were delivered on time, the third was backordered, which we were told ON THE DAY OF DELIVERY. The installation team for the first two showed up hours late (6:30pm) and complained the entire time about their hours. They never did get the freezer to start up, in spite of the installer praying over it (not making this up). My husband had to call Sub-Zero at 10pm to find out how to reset the freezer to get it working. The installer had no clue. For an $8000 freezer one would expect an installer who knows how to set it up. Still waiting on the refrigerator. Never again. FOLLOW_UP: 10 days later they delivered the refrigerator, and IT WAS THE WRONG MODEL. Unbelievable. read more

I have been extremely patient in regards to my order that was placed back on 7/6/2020, and the minimum that your employee, Robert Ross, could've done was keep me up to date with my order and answer my concerns that I had voiced several times via email. He never returned my phone calls or emails, except for the one reply to my email and Robert Ross gave me an extremely vague answer to a question I had. Each time I would call I would have to leave a message and would never hear from him. He flat out ghosted me. I would've kept waiting patiently for my appliances if Robert Ross would ever reply to my emails or calls. It's been 2 months and today I have had it. Thanks to your employee, I cancelled my order and ordered my appliances straight from the manufacturer. Plus, I even got a way better deal compared to you guys. This business is great when you purchase. But have a problem and they are the worst. They do not stand behind their products and will not take responsibility when they are in the wrong. I paid for and had them install an oven that they never should have sold to me. This oven does not perform well when next to cabinets that are laminated and is stated clearly in the installation manual. Their installers should have known this, especially since Bill Smith admitted they had seen the problem before. My cabinets were damaged, and all I wanted was to exchange the oven...they refused. Not very nice...I will NEVER do business with them again and neither should anyone else...this is a terrible company. read more

I purchased a $5000 Samsung kitchen package two years ago. The refrigerator ice maker will not work and Samsung wants me to pay for replacement. The Samsung range has been repaired twice. The main circuit board was somehow defective. This cost me $750. The repair person said that the range needs 230 or 240 amp service. My building has 220 service and Bill Allen knew this when they sold me this package. read more

My Elderly parents purchased a GE premier profile electric range from this company 3 years later all of the burners have worked for exactly 3 months. They pawn off the responsibility to some warranty company, Best Home Services, and that keystone cop experience just keeps getting deeper and deeper....The driver is in an accident and can't come today....3 weeks later , the part is ordered but not in yet, then the part they ordered is now a circuit board issue. The odyssey continues. Bill Smith has signed off on this and we are on our own and the debacle continues. We will certainly die before Bill Smith straightens this out. This is not how it should be. Absolutely one of the worst experiences I have ever encountered with a "service " organization. If this is the bell weather measurement of a company please by all means avoid Bill Smith. I have been a Bill Smith customer for years. I recently purchased a washer and dryer for over $2,000. I saved for a long time to get the model I wanted. There is a 1 year warranty so when dryer knob fell off continously I thought I will just have them send me a new one. Had to talk to 2 departments but finally got the person I needed. She told me the knob was not covered. Ok, I spent a large amount of $ for an appliance and you are telling me I have to go out and buy one! She then asked me if it was cracked, why yes the plastic part is cracked. Well she said we don't cover if cracked!! I said, it probably cracked when it repeatedly hit the floor cause will not stay on. So, apparently customer service is no longer important to Bill Smith. It is a $ 5.00 knob, but after you spend thousands in their store you better not let anything happen. Never again will I purchase anything from them again. read more

Giving Bill Smith one star is definitely giving it to high of a rating. Our first mistake was to buy A Samsung refrigerator freezer. It came highly recommended from the person who sold us that unit. We had trouble from day one. In order to eat icecream you needed a hammer and chisel. We complained to Bill Smith to no avail. We wanted to speak with someone higher up...everyone we spoke with refused to give us the name of anyone in their main office. We finally spoke with someone in the main office and got some satisfaction. Now 2 1/2 years later freezer and refrig go out. It took over three weeks for Bill Smuth to fix the damn thing. We were finally offered a loaner after two weeks. Pathetic. A woman by the name of Kathy is a total bitch. She was rude every time we called in. We also asked her for her manager....again she would not give us their name. Finally we got her managers name. I believe it was Cindy. At least Cindy got us a loaner machine but no other compensation was given. With all the Bozo's that came out to fix the refrig no one had a clue as to what they were doing. At the very least with all the problems we had Cindy should have offered to pay for future coverage on the machine. She told us she couldn't.
