We found this place for brunch since it was near the bus station and had good reviews. The photos of the food looked good so we went. Inside was quite spacious. We waited about 20 minutes for a table. We ordered the eggs royale with a side salad instead of fries, smashed avocado, feta, and poached eggs, and the pan fried chicken with wild mushrooms. My friends and I enjoyed the poached eggs. The side salad was also really refreshing. Unfortunately, my other friend found her chicken to be really dry. She said the sauce was good, but the chicken was so dry, it still didn't redeem the dish. I would definitely recommend the poached eggs. We came here at the end of November when they re-opened after remodeling. The place is super cute and clean! We had never been here before, so we can't speak to what it was like before. We both ordered Bill's Breakfast along with a stack of pancakes. The food was delicious and we enjoyed every bit of it. We came right at opening for breakfast and service was great. This was good but the meal was lacking a side or something. I should've asked beforehand but I assumed it would be a bit heartier. We both had Eggs Benedict. Their iced tea is sweetened which I can't stand but again, I should've asked. It also tastes like Lipton peach tea (instant) w mint in it. It has that weird aftertaste. We didn't realize that they were just getting ready to close until we sat down and we said we would make it quick. I'll admit that my friend and I had reservations about this restaurant at first. Being from New York, we're not big fans of eating anywhere near the train station. But Bill's is in the arcade, away from the actual subway, and the food is delicious. I had their pancakes which truly tasted homemade and had a subtle hint of lemon. It's homey, has a good decor, and friendly staff. I was there for breakfast - the traditional breakfast was bacon, sausage, fried eggs, mushrooms and tomatoes with toast. Everything was good, although the eggs were slightly over cooked. It's unpretentious and a nice start to a slow day. Service was not the fastest, so make sure you aren't in a hurry. Well located just outside the entrance to High street Kensington tube, I really like this place. It's my first visit, and I've found the staff to be cheerful and friendly, there's a nice atmosphere too without it being too noisy. I ordered the eggs Benedict and a latte. Both of which were textbook. The muffin halves are both sizeable and tasty. There was a good amount of hand carved Han without it being excessive. The eggs were beautifully golden yolked and perfectly poached. The hollandaise was delicious, being light with a nice note of lemon running through it. The sign outside says breakfast-lunch-dinner 24 hours but doesn't mean you can get breakfast 24 hours. Bummer as that's what I was hoping for. Food Mezze-this the equivalent of a sampler platter in the States. Calamari, fried tortilla chips (flavorful), crab cakes, chicken on a skewer (has an Indian twist to a bbq flavor). This was good. Steak,eggs and chips (Fries)- bland skirt steak, Cooked medium. Steak had absolutely no flavor but I still cleaned my plate. The eggs were cooked to perfection, it almost tastes like they were poached. Americans, you must ask for ketchup. I asked for ketchup and malt vinegar. Bill's was an unexpectedly delicious good time! After walking around Kensington Palace and the Gardens, we stopped by here for dinner. We ordered a couple of cocktails and shared Bill's Sharing Platter, the Sea Bass and Sirloin steak with mushroom sauce. What a satisfying and delicious family style meal we had. We saved room in our bellies of course and got 2 desserts: the Chocolate Dome/Bomb and Sticky Toffee Pudding. Hands down -- the BEST sticky toffee pudding I've ever had. This place is a must try. They have a bottled strawberry lemonade drink that is specific to their restaurant and it is YUMMY! We bought two big ones to drink this week and I want to go back and get more. But you also want a review of the restaurant eh? Well... I loved the atmosphere and the wait staff was kind and good. The pace here is slower than I'm used to in the US, but I find that is the norm for Europe and am enjoying forcing myself to slow down. Jack had ribs, which were yummy! Fall off the bone good. Mama had a chicken burger she thought was excellent. I did Steak and Eggs and honestly didn't care for it, but I think it may be more of a culture thing vs. it not being good. I was expecting a medium well steak - this was well done, but really thin so he probably couldn't avoid it. The eggs only came fried with the yellow on the top which is not how I like them, but when in England - do it the English way! The scones were OK, not crumbly at all, kind of yeasty. The clotted cream was great. The strawberry along cake it came with was awful. We took one bite and nearly spit it out. Too sweet. Inedible. I've heard some rubbish reviews and just got put off but I've always found the menu interesting and because my friend and I were in need of a drink and snack stop, Bill's it was. After being shown to our table, there was no service for probably about 15 minutes, we had to call someone over and then the drinks took forever, only to find out their cocktail of the month was unavailable. Once our original server was back, everything was alot faster and efficient. Aperol spiritzs were lovely. Chips were fine and the crumbed calamari was actually quite good with none of that hideous frozen calamari you may find in other places. The duo of dips were unexpected and delicious. A friend and myself have a brunch at least once per month and we are always on the lookout for new places to eat. So we decided to give the Bill's chain a try. Eggs Royal was simply to die for, and my friend loved the pancakes with bacon. The staff are super attentive, and even though we were sat upstairs initially on our own, the staff never forgot us. They also have a sweet shop & we got a bunch of them to bring back to The States with us, all of them were very good. Always a great meal at Bill's. We were out with 10 other friends...so quite a large group. The High Kensington store seems to be rather new...as there seem to be a lot of contruction work around on the outside (though still very quiet inside). The interior is extremely warm and comfortable, which leather lounge chairs and sofas. Very impressed! I had the the duck, which was small, though very filling. If you like to have a larger meal, I would recommend get extra sides. Disappointinly, the waitress didn't really understand the wine list, nor did she send over the bar person to provide insight. In the end, 5 of us decided to walk over to ensure we had the appropriate mix. Great place for almost any occassion, let it be for groups of friends, paries or work related. read more

Bills was a lovely place for breakfast located just on the walk towards the High St. Kensington Station. It's close to shopping and transport and was excellent before visiting Kensington Palace, just a few blocks away. There is a very sweet and cozy atmosphere to enjoy a meal or to just stop in for a cup of tea. It's in a bustling area with commuters, but it isn't too loud and makes a perfect spot for people watching! The service was kind and efficient and the meals were well portioned and priced. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast, which included two pieces of toast and two poached eggs. Although the eggs were a little over done, it was a filling meal and quite nice with the hummus and avo offered for the bread. The menu had a variety of options of entrees, I got the naked burger which a burger without a bun served with a side salad, it was overall good, the rest of the group I was with got either a regular burger or a chicken sandwich, all seemed satisfied with their meals. When staying in Kensington, I was told to check out this place a couple of times. A group of 6 of us came into Bill's and ordered burgers. I ordered the buttermilk chicken burger, and it comes with sweet potato fries. I do not care for them, so I asked if I could substitute something from their list of sides. The waitress said "yes" so I chose the mac& cheese. The food was not bad, but when I got the bill I was charged for the burger& fries plus the mac& cheese. When I asked the manager, he did not even offer as much as a sorry. My bill was 19 pounds (the mac&cheese was 5 pounds), which equated to about $27 US dollars. If i pay $27 for a meal, it better be a steak or some amazing meal. I was very unhappy because it was their fault they gave me the incorrect information and were not apologetic. read more
