Rotten meat and utterly shockingly bad customer service.
On Sunday the 28th I purchased a shoulder of NZ lamb at the Independent Grocer Meaford store for $28.80 (-30% discount)
When I got home I discovered that it was rotting and smelled simply disgusting. It was actually blue in some spots.
As we had guests staying with us, I could not return it until two days later and was told by staff (including the manager) that as it had been priced at 30% off I was not entitled to a refund.
Even although it was reduced, I do not expect to pay for spoiled meat at Independent.
After sending an email to the owner that day, a certain Pina Godard, I have not heard back after almost a week. And I did follow up.
I shall be boycotting this store from now on and posting my bad review everywhere I can. Do not give this store your heard-earned money; they don't deserve it. read more
