I love this place. It's on the water and it's huge. There is always room even when really busy, so its one of my favorite weekend places. I like lots of different types of beer but their Classic Lager is the best lager around and I love Betty the Hefe. Favorite thing is all the stuff going on all the time. They hold the best events and we go for the running club and trivia and music all the time. The ST Paddy day event was huge fun and we plan to go to cinco de mayo and Rock the Dock in May. I would give 10 stars if I could. There is always a food truck for lunch and dinner and different ones on the weekend which is really nice. read more

My favorite brewery in town! I go almost once a week. Lots of beers to choose from as well as some other options if beer isn't your thing. There are always a few seltzer cocktails and frozen drinks to try. The location is great and has beautiful marina views. They also have a food truck, board games, and fire pits. A hidden gem in a sleepy town. This is my new go-to place for hanging with friends. The scenery in town is pretty but most bars and breweries have a view of a road or a parking lot and most of them have mediocre drinks. I am an avid beer drinker and love love love the beer options here. If you havent tried the smokestack lightening its one of the best porters I've had. Also loving the dunkel and just tried a cocktail on the menu that was dope. The bartenders are super friendly and always let me taste the new stuff so I can decide what I want to get. There is a food truck thats always there but I usually order pizza from the jamestown pizza pie company unless sate, bali or nomads are there. read more

The only downside was the one beer with three different berries was not pouring correctly on tap so we couldn't try it (sounded like it was the best one). The environment was very nice and the two bartenders were very polite and helpful. Very pleasant inside and nice seating on the deck as well as out in the field. I have always been a fan of Billsburg, but this past year has been such an improvement. I love the nautical resort feel of the place with the new umbrellas and adirondaks. New staff has all been a big improvement. Everyone is so friendly now. I tried a gold coffee stout and it was legit the best beer I've tried yet and that's saying something because I love the beer anyway. Would love to see different food trucks during the week. Really nice to see how black owned businesses are supported here too. Loved the dogfather that has been out this week it looked like the whole family was there helping and they did a great job. Another brewery in the historic triangle area. We tried the James City Export Lager, the Nitro Bourbon Barrel Ghost Wind, the Cribbage in the Square (pilsner), and the Belfast City whisky Barrel Irish cream Ale. They all were good, but the pilsner was special. So few breweries venture here,I think because it is more challenging to do simply and straightforward with excellence. On a day trip to Historic Jamestown we stopped in at this dockside brewery. Billburg is in a really lovely location, facing a small boatyard inlet. The is food available from a food truck. We arrived at around sunset and we were able to sit out on the deck facing the water. As the night went on Billburg started to fill up. A band was scheduled for the evening. F and I tried their darker brews which were very nice. Combined with the cool Atmos we would definitely come back when we are in the area. read more

This is a gem of a brewery. Great location by the water. Ample outdoor seating on deck and outdoor area. Usually have a food truck there at all times. The beer is pretty good. I enjoyed the Rye beer a lot (name had something to do with Midwest). Tip: this place does NOT do flights so don't ask...but they will let you have a taste before committing to an entire pour. This place is pretty new so I completely expect it to become more crowded as the summer continues. There is no parking lot so plan on grabbing a spot on the street. If I had to name a negative this would be the only one. O and is an unofficial rule with most breweries, it is dog friendly! After riding bikes on the Capital Trail, we were surprised to find Bilsburg right across the street from the Jamestown visitors center.. Instead of going into the tasting room we ordered a beer from the outdoor location and walked over to the marina and enjoyed the wildlife. While here, we had three beers, the kolch, red and IPA. All were outstanding. I was a bit apprehensive to come here as previous reviewers mentioned that there were so many kids and dogs...... But because the area is so spacious, there was plenty of room for enjoying the natural habitat of the area peacefully. read more

Visited this place while out taking in the sites. Had a nice time. Bartender was very pleasant and helpful! Good selection of brews and even had slushies, one was non alcohol which is good. Tables inside and outside on a partial covered deck for those who would like the dune or shade. Even offer an outside sitting area with trees only a few feet away. We went on a warm day and sat outside at the picnic tables, with our 3 kids. The kids aren't allowed inside the brewery or even on their deck, since their rule is 21 and over, so if taking kids, make sure it's nice enough to sit outside. They do have kid options for drinks though. Staff was friendly, location was great. I'd say this is a must visit while exploring Jamestown. The food truck was great too. read more

This was a great little find! Some of my family did a 5k race over Thanksgiving that started at the brewery. We hadn't heard of this brewery before, but we're happy to have discovered it! It's situated next to the historic Jamestown settlement with beautiful views of the wetlands off the James River. The site has a good sized indoors, but a large outdoor space and a deck perfect for taking in those views. The beers were decent and very affordable. Lots of IPA selections. I tried the nitro porter and a red ale (which was surprisingly dark and smooth) and wasn't disappointed. I'll have to try more in the future! read more

Stopped by after the Jamestown settlement, they have great beer (best friend ipa) and dog treats. Did I mention they are totally dog friendly? On Saturday, they had live music playing outside and a food truck (the German snack shack). The brewery rocks, but as for the food truck, don't ask for anything to modified due to dietary issues because they just won't. read more

Great location and outdoor space! I don't LOVE all the beers they serve so it stinks when the one I like is out. The bathrooms are clean, the space is well kept and the staff is cool. They use the untapped app which helps to keep track of the beers and helps me figure out which ones I like. I love the food trucks but they aren't of the brewery, however it's awesome that the brewery has them onsite. Overall, a cool place for Williamsburg. read more
