The sandwiches were delicious, and I definitely recommend the Grouper Reubens. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing during this visit. Our server brought warm mayonnaise, carried my drink by the rim of the cup, and placed our dessert on the opposite side of the table instead of where we were seated. We also sent the rum cake back because it was extremely dry. When the server returned, she told us the kitchen insisted it was "very moist" rather than simply addressing our concern. To her credit, she did remove the rum cake from our bill. I really like this restaurant and dine here once or twice a month, which is why this experience was so disappointing. Bimini Bait Shack This place has such a great vibe we just had to take our out-of-town friends there. We got seats right away as it was midafternoon and weather was cool. Our waitress Cortney was very good she answered any questions we had and took our orders fast. I got the Swimming Pig, which was Smoked Pulled BBQ Pork, Cole Slaw & Jumbo Onion Ring on a Toasted Brioche Bun with Fries. My wife and our friends got seared Ahi Tuna Tacos and a Beef Brisket. Our food came out fast and it was all so good. Loved the live music above the bar and by the way the bar is all just a large fish tank that you sit at. The bar and dining area are on the 2nd floor; they have stairs or an elevator to get there. The entire front of the place is open for a specular view and some great pics. I can't say anything bad about this place as to me it is always amazing every time we go there and besides that where else can you go and get a drink inside a real Pineapple. They even have their own large smoker right outside to make sure they serve you the best food. This is our go to place when we get visitors or just need a quick attitude adjustment. Came here for a reunion with some friends from out of town who were staying at a hotel next door to the restaurant. Ok so I actually loved this place ha! It was recommended to me on Reddit! This is the last restaurant right before the bridge - it's up on stilts about 1-2 flights of stairs up, there is an elevator. Parking seemed tight but cars were going in and out. There's indoor and outdoor seating. We came on a Sunday at 6 and the wait was almost an hour for 2 of us. Besides the wait - other restaurants should take note - these are what food and drink prices should be! $10 cocktails, $5 mocktails, $10-15 sandwiches, $20-25 entrees. Totally affordable! There is an extensive cocktail menu highlighting mixed drinks from all over the Florida area and surrounding islands, mostly with Rum but there is something for everyone. My husband and I each got one - they were boozy and tasty, just one was plenty! For food, we split the small onion ring stack which was 5 onion rings and a tasty sweet/spicy aioli. They're the thick beer battered onion ring kind - my favorite, highly recommend these! For dinner - we split the steamer pot for 2 which was delicious! It had mussels, clams, crab legs, shrimp, sausage, potato and corn. I would've preferred more than one potato, and if the pieces were cut smaller (it was just cut in half, hard to eat when your hands are messy!). And I think one more crab would've made it perfect, but nonetheless it was delicious and we were happy. We sat outside and the view was nice during sunset - you can look over the bridge. They had live music, which was a fun atmosphere but the guy seemed to struggle on some more challenging songs (Chris Stapleton isn't for the weak!). The bar is huge and entirely an aquarium which was so cool, plus half the seats are swings! Located just off the Sanibel Causeway and McGregor Boulevard this place was built as a massive Indoor / Outdoor Tiki Building with amazing sea breezes from the Gulf of Mexico. As soon as we arrived, we were seated at a table overlooking the water, and the view was breathtaking, especially as the sun began to set. Great spot for the vibe we were looking for being by the water and outside, but still comfortable. It's right next to a great spot to watch the sunset under the bridge. The food was very mediocre. We were told that fish dip would take 30 minutes if you order the mozzarella bites order two because there's only six tiny ones. The onions were crispy and had a nice batter although a little greasy. It was our favorite menu item. The smoked fish, not so much. It was dry like canned tuna that had been seasoned with liquid smoke, very unappealing. It was served with sesame crackers that had no crack, stale like. It did have bones in it so it was some kinda fish...Tortillas chips would have been better. Meanwhile my daughter and I finished our drinks and were both drinking the well water. The waitress never checked on us. Like a pariah, she checked tables on either side of us not even making eye contact. The restaurant has someone from the kitchen bring out your food and we asked one to bring napkins and another to bring an extra plate. Neither happened. We finally got our tuna melt. It had promise but after a taste, it was obvious it may have fallen apart on the grill because so many components were burned. There were tomato slices that were a minute away from tomato sauce they were so done, the tuna was extremely disappointing. No flavor but burned. How do you mess up a tuna melt? It was cheap $15 but still. The fries were ctt ty idiot but they were the bottom of the frozen fry bag, little chips and pieces 1" long. I refused to take in the calories. Finally the waitress stopped and asked are you ladies good? So I told her no, we were not. But it was too late, we were done. Get the full order of Onion Rings. The atmosphere is "fun". They have a couple of "swings" (not bar stools) located at the bar. Could be interesting.... if you've had a few too many. The view is very nice. They have live music. Crazily, the musicians are located "up" in a loft area - above you. There's plenty of seating. They can accommodate large parties as there was one seated next to us.
