I expected…read moreto come in for a relaxing hair appointment and come out feeling great and instead I got stressed and so upset I left basically in tears. I first made a hair cut appointment with Kimi last Friday, who did a nice job with my cut. I liked how she did the layering. I also made a hair colour appointment on Tuesday with Laura. I wanted to do a dark purple tint and had a bit of balayage from my last hair colour. I came with a pic of my ideal colour and said I didn't need it to be vibrant..just a tint where I can see purple would be fine. I was aware if I wanted it more vibrant I would have to bleach and make another longer appointment. So we agreed to just put dye over my old balayage. However, this is when my experience turned sour. I arrived after commuting well over 1hr by uber to salon. Only to find out that their water is not working. They said they only found out a bit over 10 minutes before my appointment so they did not call me. I was not too happy but understood that things happen and they did offer to uber me to their Rosedale location or reschedule and comp my appointment. I still really wanted to get the hair dye though. So they just dyed and hair dried in uptown salon but washed my hair at the blo bar salon nearby. When I was getting my hair dried I discovered that my hair is much more red than purple. Horrified, I wanted to get it redone. It was more burgundy than purple with a lot more red tones to it. Laura failed to tell me that my hair had warm undertones already in it and that it would bring out more red in my hair. I was not prepared to see so much red. I rescheduled with Rachel to get a hair toner or gloss. She explained about the warm undertone and said if she added blue toner or gloss it might tone out the reds but she would not be sure how it would turn out. She was super nice about it but her uncertainty made me change my mind and not do it. She was sorry I was so disappointed about the colour and just recommended I wait till it fades and do a colour correction at cost. So now I have paid for a hair colour I dont want and need to spend more money to get it fixed. Like it is not a hideous colour but it is not want I wanted or paid for. So everytime I look in the mirror I get upset. Overall, I have never been so disappointed after a hair appointment. I wanted to feel nice and left feeling upset. There was also another person at reception who was not that friendly either. She had brown hair tied up in a bun and wore glasses. She kind of gave me some curt looks and responses. Even Laura was there and saw me but did not even say anything to me. Side note, a collegue of mine was suppose to see Laura for a hair cut but the client she had before had to get their hair fixed due to a mistake Laura made and my coworker was left waiting for 40 minutes after her appointment time. She ended up being passed over to a higher up staff member. Just very unimpressed. I do not recommend Laura. If you go to this location anyways, try Rachel or Kimi UPDATE - After calling the salon, I was offered a full refund, which was very appreciated. However, I don't think I will return anytime soon. I feel like they could have dealt with my situation better. Everytime I think of this location it now just brings back bad memories.

I didnt realize that she did a poor job until i got home. The outer part looks yellow, the inside part looks so purple. Uneven. Keep that in mind I was asking for GREY colour. Then I decided to complain and came back a week after. She agrees to fix my hair with no charge. As she should. At this time, she got it right. My hair looks darker and grey on the bottom. Just like what I was looking for. THEN AFTER A WEEK (I went there for a second time on Aug 24, today is Sept 1), my hair looks so yellow. I even used purple shampoo just like what the stylist suggested but the colour is gone. I literally spent $320 (+ my time) for nothing. So disappointed.

It was such a blessing that she had that one opening that day to fit me in. She did a such a great job with my hair, that this has become my new go to hair salon. Every visit with Ciara has been pleasant, and she always does an amazing job with the layers in my hair.  The stylists here are all friendly, and very welcoming, and the salon is clean, and well maintained. They offer your regular wash, cut, and style services (including updos and bridal), in addition to a wide range of dying services. Bang trims are also complimentary within four weeks of your hair cut. One thing to note though is that the price ranges depending on the length of your hair, and the stylist you get.
