We all loved this place. First time visiting. We had friends visiting from California; they were so glad we took them here! "It's like we're at Oktoberfest!" That's what my girl says when we walked in, based on the cute tent and tables they had put front. Jax the cat was a wonderful mascot, welcoming host, as was everyone else. I had the maple bacon barrel aged brown and it was . She had a sour with Concord grape juice, which I even liked. Came back to visit my family in Binghamton and heard there was a new small batch brewery in JC. Decided to give it a try. I have to admit I'm becoming ever so loyal to the smaller "labor of love" breweries. The owners are in the brewery and you can tell the pride they have in the brewery. The location is great. It's in an old Endicott Johnson firehouse. The bar is wood from the floor of the defunct Brandywine Bowl. First time I ever drank off a bowling lane. The set up was intimate with about 4-5 wrought iron barstools and several tables and 2 leather chairs. The beers were all good and we were so happy we came back the following night. Met some great people at the bar and felt like we were among old friends. They don't serve food but you can BYOF (bring your own food). Interesting place that will just keep getting better over time. On my way back and forth from NY and CT, I always try to stop at these wonderful breweries that have popped up along the way. Bing Brew is definitely a gem! I tried the fleet, which is 8 beers! I was a big fan of the Xocokhan. So delicious. Although I am not usually I lose fan, I also found Purple Rain interesting enough to require a growler fill to take home to friends. Not only do they fill growlers, but sometimes they have bottles available of some of their special stuff. When I was there, they had bottles of Susan Bees! available. It is an imperial ale brewed with honey and of course has a picture of Susan B. Anthony on it! As a woman and a beer lover, how could I saw no to that?! The best part are the people at the brewery! The two ladies pouring the beers engaged us in games of Tenzi and Suspend. They had myself and two strangers visiting from Texas laughing and yelling as we competed. They were super friendly and had great stories to tell about their history and the beers. Definitely worth a stop if you are passing through or are around the area. read more

Came down to Binghamton for our anniversary to try out some of the local breweries. Hit 4 breweries, and the standout was Binghamton Brewing Co. Not only were the brews diverse (Belgian Strong! Black IPA! Pumpkin Stout!), they were well-done. The Belgian was a smooth, almost dangerous 10%. The Black IPA was toasty, hoppy, but low bitterness. The Pumpkin Stout had 100 lbs of roasted pumpkins in the mash (so much legwork!). My husband and I both tried the flights, and upon hearing it was our anniversary, Kristen and Jason offered pints (I chose Black IPA, he chose Pumpkin) and a card game. The ambiance is cozy, but I felt there was plenty of room. They have comfy chairs, a fireplace, and a neat and tidy bar area. The little touches didn't go unnoticed. We had a lot of fun with Kristen and Jason, who are working hard to ensure their customers are comfortable and happy. We can't wait to make a return trip to fill our growler. read more

Binghamton's got something really special here. The owners are kind and have a genuine passion for what they do, and it really comes through in their brews. I'm usually a dark-beer type of girl, but their Sunshine Wheat won me over from the first sip. The space is sleek and beautifully renovated, with a cozy fireplace and "universal ass chairs" made from repurposed tractor seats. The Belgian Dark was really smooth for a 10%-er, with a nice toasty finish. The new Dry Stout was delicious, with a perfect creamy head and black, solid body. I enjoyed the crowd just as much as the beer. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and I had some great conversations. I picked up a growler for home and the folks loved it. Came here with my husband when we were visiting for a job interview. Between the two of us we tried every beer on the menu (tasting flights, not full beers!), and there wasn't a dud in the bunch. Even the beers that weren't to my personal taste were still well-crafted beers. For what WAS to my taste: I had probably the best coffee stout I've ever had here. Instead of the heavy, sweet mess that a lot of coffee stouts turn in to, it was refreshing and crisp. Like a gorgeous iced coffee. Their lemongrass wit was another standout for me. Beyond the excellent beer, the owners, employees, and patrons are just wonderful. And the atmosphere is fantastic. Everyone there was warm and welcoming. We met some really great people in an environment that was open, even to brand new out-of-towners. The only thing about this place that makes me sad is that if too many people find out how rad it is, it won't be small and homey anymore. This is a brewery that will, and deserves to, become bigger. When that happens, I'm sure they will still do what they're in business to do (make great beer). While I can't wait to see them grow and succeed, I selfishly don't want that small brewery feeling to ever go away. Get there now to enjoy a very special place. read more

While waiting for a movie to start I picked up a free local Binghamton social paper, Triple Cities Carousel, & this place caught my eye. Local micro breweries seem to be popping up like mad, 5 to be exact since 2011, & this was the newest. Plus hop production was up in the state of New York for the 1st time in many years. To start, the brewery is located on a side street right of the main drag in the heart of the city but as you drive up you are met with a gorgeous restored fire house & power station. I've been to Johnson City a few times & my local friends said that it had been a depressed area for a long time so any new business is very welcomed by locals. A friendly staff person named Laurie greeted me with a smile & inquired where I was from. I took a seat in the old antique stools from an old brewery in PA plus the bag hooks were antique taps which was a very nice detail. They even reused material for the bar, floor & taps. They recently opened two weeks back so were out of growlers so I decided to try the 5 glass flight for $7. She poured me a good variety of beers from a taste wit, a black IPA to an flavorful coffee stout with would be great with breakfast. My favorite was Belgian Dark Strong. With an ABV of 9.5%, having a tasting glass portion was perfect for the afternoon. The brew was flavorful, nice aroma & not overly boozy. Laurie was very knowledgable & shared her love for good edibles everyone who arrived. Then the co-owners showed up & they were extremely appreciative to see the small group that had already arrived in their tasting room. I wish this brewery much success & enjoying seeing businesses trying not only to produce a good product but making their community better. Even though they currently had no growlers Laurie suggested I go to Galaxy Brewing Company a few miles away. You will see them in a review later. She was spot on with the awesome offering they had. I will definitely be back if I'm every in these neck of the woods. Don't forget to go to the bathroom which is right behind their brew house & they will even give you a tour if you like. this place is ok. the owners are very nice but the place is kind of small so it can get kinda cramped. you can go in and buy a flight of 5 samples for $7 or you can get a full pint of something for $5. the beer is ok but honestly i think north brewing and galaxy are better. i got a flight and out of the 5 beers i only really liked one, another one was decent, it tasted like straight up coffee, and that's not something i wanna drink all night. the place itself is very nice but they don't have tours of the brewing area, or at least they didn't while we were there, it might be something that they will do in the future, i'm not sure. the place is in a pretty lousy neighborhood though. we walked by one house where some shirtless guy just stood in the doorway the whole time staring people down, i'm guessing he's got something in there to hide, yet he's drawing attention to himself by standing there. this place is pretty new, so i do intend on checking them out again a little down the road to see what they add and improve on. as of right now this place is worth checking out for a quick drink/sampling, just be careful going back out to your car. read more

Well made beers in a new microbrewery. The tasting room is comfortable and nicely decorated. The bar was made from an old bowling alley floor. There are comfy chairs and a few bar tables as well. Tastings ran $7 for 5 samples, and the variety of beers was well thought out, including a Wit, a Strong Belgian, a Stout and a couple others. Binghamton brewing company is a pretty small establishment. They only had 5 beers on tap which is somewhat average but I personally didn't love any of them. I liked one of the 5 in my flight but some of the others tasted so similar, I couldn't distinguish which I was drinking. It's an ok stop but with no food available, I think other stops are more worth your while. If you like ambers and darker beers, it's probably better but I prefer German/Belgian beers. read more

My wife and I decided to stop by this place on a visit to Binghamton for a job interview. We choose to come to this brewery because it was dog friendly. They even had dig treats behind the counter. We were both amazed by the quality of the beers. Usually there are some beers that are a miss, but every one of their beers were fantastic. It's a great, relaxed atmosphere. The people are all very friendly. The only thing I wish they had was food. As it is right now, you may bring your own food. My wife and I love this place and this will be our goto spot if we end up moving here. Couldn't recommend this place more. read more

A solid brewery with a fantastic grasp of a variety of brew styles. They have helpful, fun, and intelligent staff who really know their needs and can talk fully about each style. This is a great venue with games and space. I've never felt rushed or pressured to leave, even if it's nearing time to go. There are a few places locally that start to rush you when it is closer (30mins) to closing. They are always willing to pour and fill growlers even as closing nears. As a very busy business owner- I love knowing that I can find a good quality brew for my parties, even with crazy schedules. read more

Really fun place to grab a beer and hang out! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, who are happy to help select among the many beers on tap. Nice range of beer options, from light and crisp, to heavy (but yum) flavored stouts. I had one of the best milk stouts I've tried in a while. They also had several red/brown ales on tap, which is a refreshing change from the hop-heavy IPA trend in craft beers (They did have some of that on the board too!). Ambiance is also neat, the brewery is a converted historic firehouse, with what appeared to be a bowling alley lane for a bar surface. read more
