I tried to go in for a first time donation today. My appointment was at 5. I got there to see no one at the front desk, a 20+ person line to the right for (maybe) vitals and a 10ish line to the left for people ready to donate maybe? There were no signs to tell you where to go. The website only ever mentions an hour but I overheard someone else saying that a physical and donation process takes 3 hours! RIDICULOUS! read more

Some of the personal seems to know what they are doing, however be watchful of the employees that check you in or take your plasma out. You might find yourself with bruises or needles in both arms! Waiting sometimes takes about 4 hours, specially the first time even with an appointment! I work until 4:30 on Saturday with traffic it took, I was arriving at 5:06; however the receptionist didn't allow me to donate. So they can't wait for me 6 minute, but I have to wait for them hours!! The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful, friendly representative kind all of the above. It was when it was time for me to see the nurse that issues arose. She was very rude to me. I recorded the entire conversation. She acted as if I was a threat. they didn't believe that I had ate that morning and I refuse to eat a bunch of food because I was full. This was supposed to be my first time donating. Made an appointment for 345, got there at 330 and wasn't called back to start paperwork until 440. I did the entire screening (fingerprints, picture, social verification etc.), then the phlebotomist came out and looked at my veins and said my right arm didn't have a good enough vein and even if so, it would ruin my tattoo?!? My tattoo literally has nothing to do with it all and is several years old. How a needle ruins it is odd to me because my dr draws blood? Apparently you need veins that pop out of your arms, on both arms incase they blow one. While I appreciate them checking, this could have been done when I got there Vs me waiting over an hour to be told I am disqualified to donate! read more

Not only did they force me to go eat a 2nd meal before even letting me in the building (which was NOT in any of the prep emails I got before my appointment), but they kept me waiting a half hour each for my finger stick AND my physical. And I was going to be a first time donor! How is that a good first impression?!? And then, after all that, I was rejected because of travel OVER 25 YEARS AGO?!? I've been donating plasma in both California AND Texas for over a year at this point and not once has my childhood travel to the UK been a problem. So first off, my first appointment was at 11:30, I got there at 11:20 and didn't leave till 4.... And with the large freakin bruise I got was because the "lead tech" told me to clench my fist hard when the machine starts tightening around my arm. Apparently that was WAY wrong, and can cause a hematoma. I had a baseball size lump on my arm from the saline apparently? Never told me to ice it, just take ibeuprofen if it hurts and I made sure to not lift anything heavy with that arm. And the lead tech that was training someone didn't even check on me at all during my service. Then I come back for my second appt and they tell me I can't donate cause my pulse is high, well maybe it's cause I don't want to get bruised again and my arm to hurt for 3 days and I was giving this place a second chance, and me taking my ADHD meds in the morning that I'm PRESCRIBED to do and was on my approved medication list. read more

When I started coming, I was in and out in an hour and a half. Now it's 3/4 hours to donate. Not worth the $. I come on and off, when the staff gets too stressed out and their customer service lacks. Karen has been the sweetest and best stick so far. Alice is meh at sticking and Shiann is not on my best side for deliberately holding off on sticking me for 30 minutes. Threw eye daggers at her for hooking up a lady, that sat after me, before me. There where 2 other ladies I liked, but I haven't seen them in a while. Turnover is extremely high here. I started here after calling around and concluding this place gave the best deals. Not sure it's worth the wait time and demeaning service after experiencing it. read more

So first I would like to start off by saying I used to have a good experience nothing too crazy or bad. I went back for the first time in a couple months and the guy who pricked my finger had someone else's dry blood(Brandon; I think that's his name) on his glove. He also sat me down when there was no wait. Then when I finally sat down the girl was messing around walking everywhere else and doing nothing instead of pricking me. It took about 20 extra minutes. My husband went a couple of days ago and got rejected because they didn't clean the fat plasma tester. Then he went again and the girl who pricked him didn't do it good at all and he got rejected again because she did it twice.. and apparently they can't take poke you more than twice. I say all this to say that they're very inconsistent in training staff. They're so short staff they hire just anyone at the cost of your time and at the cost of hurting you. If you can I would avoid this one and go to the one in Fort Worth. read more

I just left this place and everyone was very polite and helpful, until I got to the nurse who asked me if I was sick and I told her no. She said I coughed and others in the clinic had concerns about it. I told her it was a nervous habit, (one of several I picked up after being injured in Afghanistan in 2009). She then told me I could not donate until I had something from a doctor stating that. First if you already had concerns then why did you not just tell me right away instead of making me wait awhile and waste my time? Second, if my blood pressure, numbers from my blood test and my temperature were all normal why not go by those as opposed to just saying I coughed and they were concerned? Thirdly why not have some manners instead of just flexing your authority as this nurse obviously enjoyed too? Hopefully she does not read this and decide when I come back with my note that I still can't donate. I will add her name here after next visit and I find out what it is. I would not want the very professional and helpful attitudes of all others there to be called into question because of here inability to deal with others in a professional and respectable manner. read more

Like everyone else says this place is super slow. Once Your donation is done, you'll sit there plugged in for another 30 minutes until an employee will unplug you. And watch them on the money, they will not pay you if they can. If you have a coupon, don't get rid of it until it's over because they won't pay you fully. read more

I have a few things to say about this location by life locations do not take more than three hours to get to a person more or less they don't even called you out correctly for your donation with this. My husband is currently inside of the date. This is being reported. Thursday, December 12, 2024. My husband has been in there since 6:30 PM as it is currently 8:14 PM. He even arrived earlier than his appointment scheduled to make sure he was checked in and got out on time before they close, but I am still sitting in my husband's car while waiting for them to get his donations done while getting text updates from my husband saying that they outed him or gotten to him in any other way as he has been sitting there after checking in for an hour, waiting in line for an hour when he arrived and still waiting for the extra hour since he arrived and got everything checked in this location better estimates on time management before they even try to get other customers/donators in this location. I do not recommend this location to anyone in the Richland Hills area unless if you're willing to wait for three hours, just to get your donation done. read more

Very financial rewarding, especially if you are a new donor. Take advantage of the promo codes whenever you can. The three dings, which are huge, are these: 1. Don't ever call them on the phone!!! You will be on hold for 45 minutes. I have called them a half dozen times at least and each time is awful. 2. The lines are insane. You will spend as much time in the line (if not more) than you will be donating. Sometimes you wait in line for an hour only to be sent to a waitlist. That's correct, you wait in line to wait in line. 3. The employees are in NO hurry whatsoever. They move so slow. There is no urgency to get people out of there as fast as possible. With the lines they have, they should be urgent to get people hooked up to the plasma devices and unhooked when they are done. I've been done donating many times and sit and wait with the needle in my arm for 15 minutes once I'm finished donating. Get me out of there when I'm done donating. read more

Please do not go to this location. Sure lines are long and the wait can be bad. But out of everything inconvenient, please, your life may be on the line. Someone close to me went to this location and due to negligence of the staff involved, they were scared for their life. I have left voicemails and have not received anything back. They have donated for about 6 months now and had no issues until today. Staff hooked them up twice, they loss color in their arm, sweating profusely, massive headache, and neck pain. Apparently part of the equipment that is suppose to stabilize the pressure of blood being drawn and sent back to the donator was cut off causing blood to shoot right back up into their arm. This could have been fatal. We need the person/people held liable for this. He was calling for help, telling them that he felt like he was dying and no one jumped to action. No one tried to help. Just standing there looking at him, as if they aren't trained for this. Please don't risk your life due to their negligence. read more

I went to this location to donate plasma and looked up everything that might disqualify me from doing so. There was nothing that would so I make an appointment and go to donate. After being there for almost 3 hours and passing every test that made me eligible this woman takes me into a room to go over my answers to the multiple questions... I knew immediately that she was going to find a way to make me ineligible.. but thought maybe it was simply her personality. I answered Ll of her questions and no meds that I take would make me ineligible. She walked out of the room for a few minutes and told me that I couldn't donate due to multiple back surgeries over 12 years ago. She said I had to have my surgeon fill out a paper saying I could donate. I explained that the doctor is no longer around nor is his office and its been more than 10 years. She shoved the papers at me and told me to have my primary care doctor fill them out. He wasn't even my doctor when I had the surgeries and had no paperwork from said surgeries. I feel like she flat out discriminated against me. There is absolutely no reason for me not to be eligible. I phoned my primary who said that he couldn't fill out the papers due to the fact that he was in no way involved in my care at this time. So, this woman has said that I will never be able to donate if the paper isn't filled out. I fully believe that she simply decided that there was no way I was going to get past her. Maybe it was my race she didn't like or maybe it was just me she didn't approve of but, it was definitely discrimination. I sniffed once because I was wearing a mask that always makes my nose run and she said you can't donate if you're sick. I told her I wasn't sick and that every time I wear a mask for an extended period of time it makes my nose run. ONE SNIFF! she berated next for. But, I have donated plasma before with carter so I know that I'm eligible she just chose to discriminate against me.. We're still stuck on the same medical standards from ages ago declaring you're not an acceptable enough human to donate due to sexual preference. I guarantee most people lie when it comes to those questions because they know it's a backwards way to think/do business these days. I'm giving one star because I completed the questionnaire and read a statement where you can write to a manager to have your information cleared from the Shire BioLife systems. A supervisor, Kim informed me that she spoke with another quality manager who said there was no such thing in the questions I filled out....less than ten minutes before. They barely even took the time to look into it before telling me there's nothing they can do. That's fine, I was just asking a question based off of what I had read. If you can't do so, please take it out of the questionnaire stating you can. If I'm wrong, prove me I'm wrong, but they wouldn't even let me read the printed out questionnaire to find the statement I was talking about. Let's just dismiss people's claims because we're too lazy to deal with it right? Positively, my nurse I spoke with was extremely nice and professional. So the phlebotomist was very careless and nicked the vein or went to far through and the needle had to be pulled out of my arm and moved over to the other arm. This situation left me with a very nasty bruise and I no longer have the ability to donate for several weeks, thus missing out on the bonuses and programs I was already working towards and have to start all over at square one. I understand and appreciate the safety measures but something ought to be able to be done about this type of situation other than to say sorry there's nothing we can do about it. read more

From day one, it was a struggle getting through each appt. I think it is mainly due to inadequate staffing since the staff working all seem busy. I had to reschedule two different appts due to having to wait such a long time. Then, the labs they drew on my first donation were lost, so they had to draw them again. After donating four times over the course of two weeks, I was told I had to wait until my lab results came back before donating again, so I missed out on $120 bonus. Plus I'm now behind and will not get the October bonus. Very frustrating to say the least. Staff was kind of nice, so that is why I gave two stars. read more

The only issue is that they ALWAYS have a healthy amount of donors but straight refuse to staff properly. At this moment there are 25 people in line and 2 people doing the check in routine. This means I will be in a ned around 930 for my 840 appointment and that's only because I got here 15 minutes early. read more
