They suck. Showed up late first time because the app sent me on a wild goose chase and even after showing the receptionist, ( app still had me turning on roads even though I was in the building) I was told to reschedule. Came back two days later, because they are closed Sunday and Monday, was told where to sit, waited over an hour, went to receptionist and she said " why didn't you come up d tell me you were sitting over there". Well, one I'm a brand new donor, don't know your process and two you forgot about me. She tried to "redo my appointment" for the time I approached her and when I asked how long it will take she told me about three more hours. So, I've been sitting for 90 minutes, you tell me another three hours would put me close to 10 pm before I walk out the door was told to reschedule. But she wouldn't do it, I was told to reschedule on the app, which I did because I needed the money to pay my overdue electric bill, which is related to being out of work due to covid shutting down my place of work every few weeks due to outbreaks. Scheduled for the next day, waited 45 minutes only for the nurse to tell me, while I was getting set to donate that they won't use my arm due to scar tissue resulting from a previous surgery. Explained that I have donated before, had blood work, and IV insertions at a hospital with no issues, but NO. Was told " oh well" and could not donate. THREE times, driving a total of 42 mile round trip each time, 126 miles total, paying for gas each trip, and taking countless hours out of my day to be turned away three times. A checklist of some sort should be on the website or sent when an appointment is made, regarding issues of why you would not be able to donate. They don't care, make you wait, FORGET that you're even there, and there is no compensation for matters that are no fault of your own. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and per my attorneys advice contacting the local news channels to put the word out there that this is a horrible company making a TON of money off people that may be desperate to find a way to pay their bills. DO NOT USE THOS COMPANY AT ALL. read more

So my first day there was 2.5 hours to get signed in, questions, small physical (basically screened for not an addict and that I could walk across the room), and then a blood sample because I was out of time to donate that day due to the first time donor process being so long. So I asked if I could reschedule and come back to donate... oh sure, just be back in 7 days... I asked three times... "are you sure I don't have to be here before 7 days to not go through the physical again" no... its 7 days. So I reschedule... Yep... you had to be there before the 7th day. It took them a 1/2 hour to get me that answer. So yea... Red Cross is a much better option. this place is a shit show! this place is an absolute joke. most of the staff was very friendly and helpful except for the lady who did my intake questionnaire. she made up some sort of lie about how it's against the law for them to take my plasma if I've ever been an iv drug user. I have 3 years clean and 6 years without putting a needle in my arm. So I was permanently deferred because when she asked about iv drug history I was honest with her. but I had told the other doctors that day all the same thing and they said It wouldn't matter. as long as it had been 4 months. So thanks to that waste of a life form now I have to drive all the way out to fruitridge to donate my plasma. it's crazy that this company would give someone like her so much authority I would not recommend going here even if you're as clean as a whistle. they also deferred my buddy because they listened in on one of his phone calls. That he was on with the county that he was homeless, which she was telling them so he can get more assistance. If I'm not mistaken, that's a breach of confidentiality. Re: Biolife Plasma in O'Fallon MO/St. Peters MO -- Employees can be rude and if you're rude back, you're treated like a problem and may be permanently deferred. Although new donors get $80 a donation for the first 30 days, after 30 days the pay drops down to $20 for the first donation of the week. No one told me this nor is it posted anywhere in the building. Is it no wonder with the pay being ridiculously low? I don't think any other plasma center pays this low. They never answer their phone, and the wait time to give plasma is very long. Although you have to have an appt. to be screened, after you screen, you wait in a very long line (standing) with maybe 15 other people or more for your turn to go back and give plasma and you may stand in this line for 30 minutes or longer. This is ridiculous and shows how little respect they have for donors. They overbook people in screening, scheduling people 10 minutes apart and this is why you have to wait so long after screening to go back and give plasma, and when you finally go back and give plasma, you may wait 10 minutes or longer before you're stuck. I like how when people make reviews on their website that the owner responds by telling people to contact BiolifeMarketingAnd Communications.US@ takeda.com because when my friend emailed this place, her email came back to her. This is obviously bogus and a PR scheme to make people think someone cares about what donors think but in reality, no one does. If someone cared, these issues above wouldn't exist. And I'd love to know why google and their website shows they're located in St. Peters MO when they're really in O'Fallon MO. This is not a quality place and it's by far the worst plasma center I've ever been to and I've been to a lot in the past 30 years. read more

I have been donating for over 13 years at Biolife in Missoula Mt. and can only recall one time after my third year that I had an issue with my donation process; it happened to be during the needle-stick done by an emplyee who expressed anxiety while hooking me up and caused a hematoma in my arm, which in time went away. Other than that, I haven't had one single complaint spanning over 550 donations. The staff is always friendly and professional and my turn-around time is approximately one hour and twenty minutes from check-in to walking out the door. I highly recommend donating to save lives and /or greatly improve a person's health. Well worth it! read more

Biolife will look for any excuse to defer you. If you tell them you stubbed your toe on the way in they will defer you and ask for a doctor to send them paperwork proving you don't have chronic toe stubbing syndrome. Don't tell them you are tired. They will defer you and require a psyche evaluation to get reinstated. I ate a bag of flaming hot cheetos before coming in and got deferred. They want me to send a stool sample to my doctor to make sure my stomach ache wasn't an allergic reaction to their screening process. read more

I walked in and setup an appointment because the application wasn't letting me save any of my information. After setting up my appointment the representative didn't notify me that I would need my social security card with me but thank god someone let me know about it before my appointment or I would've wasted even more time at this place. I walk in and they tell me I'm not in the system and I use their computer running on Microsoft 96 to register again, but due to an error in their system they had to delete my profile and make a new one all over again. They then had me leave and get food and reschedule for an hour later. I come in patient and finally get checked in. I wait for a good 30 minutes (it's been an hour and 15 minutes since I came in for my original appointment) and finally one of the representatives starts to check me in and leads me to a questionnaire. I take that for 30 minutes and then go into a room with a nurse who asks me a series of questions. I've now been at this location for 2 and half hours and am finally told that because I've had sexual contact with another man, I can't donate. This was a question I asked the representative at the front desk when I first set up my appointment if there would be any complications with my donation because I've had it within the past year and she didn't give me an answer. It was also a question on the questionnaire that did not follow up and tell me right then and there that I wasn't eligible. The questions need to be better designed so that they don't waste people's time. Instead my time was wasted. The staff was kind, but the systems used to operate this facility are inefficient and I'm sure my case is likely moderate with how much time was wasted just to get told no. If you have another place to go to donate plasma, I'd recommend going there before using this archaic hell hole. read more

I showed up at the Watson Road location and literally wasted nearly 3 hours of my day. I had all the proper documentation but the lines were long and the wait times between stations averaged 15-20 minutes. On the questionnaire I answered that I have sleep apnea. Apparently, this is a condition that requires medical documentation. I had to wait another hour and a half just for a nurse to tell me that. Also, I want to point out that the company's non-discrimination statement includes sexual orientation. However, that must only apply to employees. Four of the disqualifying donor questions concern sexual contact between two men. I agree with another review on here: it seems that BioLife Plasma Services isn't all that concerned about getting new donors. My recommendation is to only go for it if you are 100% heterosexual for your whole life and are in 100% perfect health. Otherwise, you are wasting your time. It's fine if the company uses those things as disqualifiers - they should just tell you that up front so you don't waste your time and theirs. I started donating plasma about six months ago with a different company. I always had a good experience and it was a very easy way to put extra money in my pocket. My experience was so good in fact, that I started referring friends from work. Biolife, being closest to work, was the place my coworkers went to first. I was surprised when every single person I sent was turned down. Thinking that it would be more convenient to go someplace close to work, I decided to give Biolife a try for myself. Typically, donating plasma should take 45 minutes tues to an hour from the time you walk in the door. A LITTLE longer your first time there. I had been at Biolife for an hour and a half before I even got to see the "nurse". She gave me some silly reason why I couldn't donate that day and told me to reschedule. Four days later I came back and this time was told to reschedule AGAIN. I left and will not be back. I am a healthy adult. I do not drink, smoke, or do drugs. I have successfully donated plasma twice a week for months. I waited the appropriate amount of time after my last donation before going to Biolife. It became obvious to me that this location is not looking for new customers get has no problem stringing potential customers along until, like me, they get disgusted and go away. I'll be back at my old place Monday morning. read more

The service is no where near fast, unless you have a 4 hour time span to do nothing, and the staff seems to always take their sweet time when setting you up and removing you from the machine. After 4 trips, countless hours, and hoops to jump through, I only find out that now its too late to donate my Covid plasma. I literally have been trying to gather the required info they needed for a month. Each trip it was something new. After reaching their ridiculous requirements, they tell me that I am too late. This is in regard to Biolife Plasma in O'Fallon MO. Their website (and google) incorrectly shows they're located in St. Peters MO, but they are not. There is no Biolife Plasma in St. Peters MO but in O'Fallon MO, about 30 miles away -- and why mgmt hasn't corrected this, is beyond me. I believe they get a lot of money for each person's donation (maybe $1,000 ?) but they only pay donors $20 for the first donation of the week, which is absurd, especially since you're there for about 2 hours even if you're hydrated and give plasma easily. I've never seen a plasma center that requires donors to stand and wait in line (and a long line) to go back and give plasma, but this is what they do here. I asked a nurse once if I could get a styrofoam cup to drink water and she said they don't have cups and she did not, and somehow I doubt what she said. Employees don't think they have to be respectful if they don't want to, and I think some of the employees should only get $20 a day from how they treat donors. There is poor management here who does not respect donors nor have their best interest in mind Donor pay-out amount should be posted on the door so people can see this but it is not, probably because it will discourage prospective new donors from giving. read more

It is hard to get two appointment in one week. So that is annoying, bc you only make the full amount if you donate twice a week. And it is impossible to get someone on the phone to try and schedule an appointment when the app is not working correctly. Other than scheduling appointments, I haven't had any problems. I will never cone back to this place again. Worst place I've ever been. They are a joke. Every word that comes out of their mouth is a lie. Was told I needed something from my doctor, I got it on my phone. They did they now needed more info so I asked the dr again. Now they claim they can't take it from my phone even tho it is from a well know hospital app that you can talk to your Dr on. They have given me a run around for 2 months almost 3 months now. My husband came in to Biolife with a coupon to earn $350 for the month (with 6 visits I believe). Every time he visited, it took HOURS for him to donate. After a couple visits, he came in to be told that they needed to test and make sure that everything was good with his blood. He wasn't allowed to donate that day. They were suppose to call within the week to tell him the results and that he could come back in. No one called so my husband called multiple times over 3 WEEKS and no one ever answered or returned his messages. When he finally got ahold of them, they said they should have called and that he was fine to donate. When he went in to donate, he should have gotten $80 per the coupon that he had. Instead they told him they would only pay him the standard amount since the coupon expired, even though it was THEIR fault that he wasn't able to donate for 3 weeks. We will no longer be donating here. Horrible company and way more stress then it's worth. read more

Employees don't change their gloves in between people, and they'll wear the same gloves maybe for hours, never changing them. I learned the center's policy is that employees don't have to change gloves unless the gloves are soiled. I don't respect this and it's obvious to me, management doesn't care about good sanitary conditions or the health and well being of donors to not require employees to change their gloves when they go from one person to another. Other plasma centers do change gloves but they don't here. It's obvious to me they have low standards, and I don't think management really respect donors like they should, but sees them as a product on an assembly line -- and nothing more. read more
