Their home made curry tastes out of this world and their home made sweet and sour is full of fruity flavour and just gorgeous! The mushroom egg omelette is beautiful and the Garlic salt & pepper Mushrooms and chicken was Mmmmm! The chips are nice too. If you don't fancy the box meals you can go for the Chinese main menu meal dishes in the foil trays. You just have to go down and try it yourself or better still they now deliver and charge just a pound for delivery service. The taste is just hard to be beaten by any chinese food place in Castleford. And I should know cuz I have tried all of the Chinese restaurants and takeaways locally including those at Xscape. Just had the Crispy aromatic duck from them and swaped the normal duck Hoi Sin sauce for their home made BBQ sauce which made it the best tasting Crispy aromatic duck I have ever had from a Chinese. I have also tried a recomended Mixed meats Japanese Udon noodle dish which was overflowing from the rim of the container that the lid wasn't even on properly as the food was piled so high and full. I can always count on getting a tasty and satisfying meal from this place. They now even have beef & chicken burger meals on the menu. My son is addicted to them as they really fill him up the cheese burger, chips and can of pop at extremely reasonable prices too.Talking of pop they do the largest selection of pop I have ever seen from any Chinese place. Shandy, Tango Apple, Tango Orange, Tango Cherry, Coke, Diet Coke, Pepsi, Rubicon Mango, Vimto, Tizer, Dr Pepper, 7Up, Irn Bru, Dandelion Burdock, Red Bull, Emerge, bottled water & even zero percect alchol cans of beer! Mezmez feels like it's trying hard to be a proper Italian establishment, but it commits the common crime of feeling like it has to offer other dishes too, and it's the inferior quality of these that lets the whole side down. As with many people, I'm sure, my sole usage of this establishment has been post-Cockpit. In this way it's always been a bit of a "I'm drunk and therefore want evil food" kind of relationship between Hot Stuff and I, and in that at least, I can say that they have been faithful, cheery and dutiful. I certainly couldn't advise eating there sober - but then I can't think of a kebab shop anywhere that I would choose to dine from, for say my working lunch. Sometimes the kebab has been magic, sometimes the kebab has been the opposite. This variable could of course be down to my alcohol consumption, I might add. Whilst it's not the nicest place to be after 2am, given all the drunken bloke-ness around here, the staff have always been pretty friendly. For him to call me a liar, for the driver to also call me a liar and for the boss to then tell me he doesn't care about me as a customer and to 'fuck off' and then hang up.
