On this trip we also used Bergen's bysykkel, and those could be locked in a "pause ride" state with a built-in locking system anywhere, then returned to a station afterwards, for example shopping, or lunch... Great to have access to a bike, but Bergen's bikes are better. Would have been cool to also have option for electric bikes. Frame for bikes in both cases was heavy, not great performing bike, but did the job. I definitely liked the continuously variable transmission gearing.

I always got good service when it was Sportshuset and people were always asking me if I needed help with anything. Now that it's Intersport, it's a hit and miss. Most of the time, it's a miss. I was in here the other day and needed to buy some shoes for the mountain. I found two pairs I really liked and waited for about 5 minutes for someone to come by. Finally I saw a guy walking towards me, asked the couple standing several feet away from me if they needed help and walked on when they said no. He started fussing with some products literally 5 feet away from me, but never asked if I wanted help. I approached him and asked him if they have either of those shoes in a size 40. Say what you will, but more women wear size 40 than you are aware and this is not an abnormally large size for women's shoes. I have never had an issue buying shoes so I didn't expect to this day either. Anyway, he looks at me with a quizzical look, shakes his head and says "we don't carry women's shoes that large". I told him that it wasn't "that" large and I have never had an issue before. I made sure he hadn't heard me wrong and repeated that I needed a 40. He reponds with "no and you have to admit that thats quite large for a woman". I rolled my eyes and walked out, not responding to his comment. I was just in shock and mortified and on the verge of tears for being made to feel ashamed of myself. The day after, I went in again just to see if this guy was being a jerk/lazy or if they actually didn't carry size 40. Sure enough, they had a 40 in just about every women's mountain shoe they sold. The woman I talked to told me that they were out of 40 for some of them, but that they were getting more soon. So clearly they have good people working here and they have jerks working here and it's just your luck of the draw as to who you get. I won't be taking any more chances here and would rather go to any of the other 20 sports stores that are in walking distance from me.

It's a multilevel building with anything you'd want for your sporting needs. I saw they were having a sale or (salg) so I decided to check it out. During my trip I only brought one pair of shoes and they were killing me so I needed options (cheap options). I found a pair of Fila slides for 149 Kroner or around $19USD which was perfect. Everything else was much, much more expensive. These were exactly what I needed to give my poor feet relief. The line was kind of long at checkout, but it more ridiculously fast. The girl who waited on me was really friendly and I was out within no time. Great experience overall and made my trip literally more comfortable.

And also, because they have chosen to have lockers with bought goods (for me as a customer to pick up) in the very back of the store I was told to show the items when I left the store (two paid dumbbells at 7 kg each I just had put thoroughly on the bottom of my backpack). Which I sort of can understand. I had to show the receipt and was then told that I could've been stealing anything without they knowing If I didn't. Way to make a customer feel welcomed. When they choose to put the lockers where they are and choose not to have a person checking the packages when they are being picked up, I as a customer should have to experience this shitty behavior..? I really don't recommend anyone to be buying their sport goods at this place. I won't discredit all the XXL stores, the ones downtown might be better, but stay away from this one if you can.
