I was attracted by the sign that said this was "award winning". Wonder what award that is...the chicken tasty chewy and dry. Meh!

Polite gentleman who served me with a smile! The lamb with salad was $10 (cash only) and there a plentiful serving of flavorful lamb cubes. The salad was only iceberg lettuce (I asked for without tomatoes). He sprinkled on some green seasoning, hot sauce, and white sauce. It was spicy and tasty! Will come back again!

Gotta say, I'm quite impressed for cart food. Particularly, their kati rolls were real yummy. KATI ROLLS - LAMB Tender, chewy, warm paratha that was not too oily, which I often find the issue with pakistani restaurants. Tender pieces of lamb, some heat, crunchy onions and veggies to contrast that fluffy chewy texture of the roll. Yummy CHICKEN BIRYANI Tender chicken, fluffy rice, that is flavored throughout, and is moist. Egg for extra heartiness. I've def had bolder, more fleshed out biryani but this is a great quick fix and especially for cart food, the quality of the ingredients surprised me. The kati rolls are a win, and the chicken biryani are not a bad addition. The menu has a lot of vegetarian options and isn't just your typical food cart. Will want to return for their other items.

I had this on 2 different occasions recently . First experience was okay, second one not so much...hence the 2-star rating. Food (listed from best to worst): Chennai Roll- loved the sweet chili flavor of the chicken in here Lamb Kati Roll- lamb was good quality and full of flavor King Kati Roll- too spicy for my liking Chicken Tikka Masala over rice- I'm indian and I can vouch to say this is NOT what CTM tastes like at all. Lovely red colored meat but the flavor just wasn't there. And the yellow rice is super bland, no flavor at all....but they give a good portion of it. Also a major factor for me giving it 2 stars is the fact that I found a chicken BONE in my kati roll that almost chipped my tooth and makes me nervous to get another one. I heard they increased their prices too ($7 for 1 roll now) Return? unfortunately probably not Recommend? See for yourself

Having traveled to India MANY times, I know that the best Indian food is street food - and Biryani Cart proves this. I had the Chicken Tikka + Rice and Chapli Kebab + rice (over 2 days) which were stunning. This ranks among the best I've had in the USA. The portion is enough for two people.

This is the size for the roll .. $10

It was really horrible.. we ordered 1 gyro salad , and one roll .. it took 25 min! It wasn't busy .. only one customer before us .. and they ordered 2 things only .. .. the price it's not reasonable $ 10 for 2 rolls , I missed 2 buses! They work in the city .. should be more professional

If you are ever in the midtown area and close to 46th and 6th, do stop by the Biryani Cart. Their namesake dish is excellent and based on a recommendation from a friend, do get the red chicken on top. This adds an extra kick and flavor. All three sauces (red, white and green) are a must as well.

I have a confession. I came here for dinner number 2. I purposely scheduled dinner with friends for early in the evening, so that I could work up an appetite to come here for my second dinner. I came here late at night and there was quite a line. The cart sells different types of biryani rice as well as kati rolls. I had the chicken biryani, topped with delicious white sauce. The biryani was good and came with an egg. I wish there was a little more chicken though. It was a little greasy but that is ok. This is delicious late night food! While I was waiting for my food to be prepared, I saw the guy in the cart cooking more biryani rice, and adding spices. It is good to see that he makes the biryani rice from scratch. I will definitely be back to the the kati roll.

Came by here on an evening and seeing how this was a popular food cart in the area I had to try it. There was no one waiting in line, so everything went by pretty smoothly. The owner/cook was very nice. I asked to order the chicken biryani. He gave me a Daal Puri to try while I was waiting for my food to be cooked, which was very delicious. The chicken biryani itself was really spicy, to the point I couldn't finish it. From the parts that I couldn't taste the spice it was good, but the amount of spice that was added (from both the sauce and spices) it was very overwhelming. When asked if I wanted it to be spicy, I only said a little bit, but not too much. My chicken looked very red compared to some of the other pictures I've seen posted which is a little confusing if it's actually the same thing. The rice was very mushy and clumped instead of that grainy texture that I like and would expect. Chicken Biryani costed $10. The food was okay but the experience and the kindness definitely up the score and was a nice gesture to this day.

Chicken and Lamb combo over rice with all the sauses they had.

Hi! How can I place a large order of kati rolls? Like 7 orders of 2 chicken kati rolls (14 total)

What time are you open till on Thursday? because I went to the spot and there was no cart

We are open 7 days a week, Thursday we was open in our spot, please be sure about our location, “Biryani Cart” 46th street, 6th ave, Manhattan NY. Beside of Europa cafe.

Hi - Can you confirm the hours of operation on Saturday? I see different hours listed on Yelp & Google, so a little confused. Want to place a bulk order for a late party.

Sorry about confusion. Google hours aren’t right. We are open on weekends till 4am. Thanks

Is the vegetable biryani vegan and gluten free?

    Veg and non veg both.

Does this establishment still sell dosa?

We don’t have Dosa in our menu from beginning..

Is there a plate with no rice? and no pita/naan? Like a salad plate option? thx!

yes there is. you can just ask for it with salad only instead of rice or pita

I saw a second Biryani cart near Broadway and 38th or 37th street one day, guy said they were there every day but I haven't seen them since. Does anyone know?

46th street, 6th ave near Europa cafe is one and only real Biryani cart in New York City since 2005. We don't have any other branches. Thank you. Biryani Cart Management.

However, we never really got to it, having been busy exploring the Semmas and Bungalows of the city. On a cold Saturday evening my partner and I decided to give Indian Accent a shot - got rather last minute reservations over the phone. They were kind enough to accommodate us for a 7 pm slot, and once we got there we were seated immediately. We chose the four course menu, and found each course to be better than the one before! The shorba (soup) and garlic kulcha amuse bouche was a nice touch to get things started - loved the tiny terracotta mugs. Proceeded onto the shakarkandi chaat and the chilly pork roti - the former reminding me of the delectable street food in Delhi winters with the latter being a very good Indian rif on birria tacos. The star of the show for me was the Tofu medu vada - so unique and flavorful and melt in the mouth! I've not had anything quite like it before. My partner had the wagyu kebab that he said was excellent! For mains we had the chicken malai and the paneer - both tasty, but by this point we were already so full, and had to get most of the mains to go. But because there's always room for dessert, for our final course we scarfed down doda barfi with ice-cream and sticky toffee banana pudding - both of which were finger licking delish! Our service was great too - Ty our server was so nice and had the best recommendations. I'd have never gone for the tofu medu vada among all the other options and he urged me to, and it really turned out to be the highlight of my meal. The cocktails were good too. All in all, I think this is such a nice upscale Indian dining spot for a night out in the city. Having tried most of the other trending newer spots, i think Indian Accent sits right among the top! I'd highly recommend and cannot wait to be back!

A little corner of London magic right here in Hell's Kitchen!…read more If you've ever stood on a rainy London street, desperate for a bowl of proper Northern Indian food, you can stop romanticizing -- Jaz Indian Cuisine on Hell's Kitchen has that exact magic, and it's right here in Manhattan. The star of the show is Jaz herself -- the owner, hostess, and bartender all rolled into one wonderfully warm, charming British woman who somehow makes you feel like you've been a regular for years within thirty seconds of walking through the door. She's the kind of host who remembers how you like your chai and makes the whole room feel like her living room. Now, the food. The Chana Masala is deeply spiced, rich with tomato and chickpeas, the kind of dish that makes you question every mediocre version you've had before. The Saag is silky, fragrant, and genuinely soulful -- spinach that actually tastes like something. And the Onion Kulcha? Pillowy, caramelized, absolutely yummy -- the kind of bread you'll be tearing into long after you're full. The flavors here are the real thing -- bold, layered, and unapologetically authentic. This isn't watered-down, please-everyone Indian food. This is the genuine article, executed with care and a distinctly British-Indian sensibility that you rarely find outside of London.
