This is located inside of Mudrock's. We were confused the first time we tried to find it. There is no sign or anything outside that says Biscuit Bar. We have been to breakfast here twice. I did not really care to return but, my husband loves their bloody Mary's. The first time I ordered the fried chicken and cheddar biscuit sandwich with honey butter. It was so dry, I wished there was some type of sauce. We received two different menus with different items on them. When we were trying to order the waitress was very confused on what items they still had because one was the old menu. The second time I ordered the Mexicali biscuit sandwich because it has chipotle mayo and avocado on it. I thought this would help with the dryness of the biscuits. It helped a little bit but, I could barely taste the sausage patty because they cooked it so long that it was thin and crumbling apart. The restaurant itself is large and has a full bar. The Biscuit Bar seems to be an extension of Mudrocks bar and grill, it is a room attached to the bar with a doorway.The food must come from the bar kitchen since there is no cooking area in the Biscuit Bar. When I arrived there was a small group of 6 or so who appeared to be having a business meeting over biscuits and coffee. The room is laid out nicely with simple adornments and generously spaced seating. Everything seemed very clean and orderly and I was greeted upon entering. I ordered a breakfast biscuit with eggs, cheese, bacon and a cup of hot black coffee. I no more than sat down and the breakfast sandwich arrived. The coffee was very good, rich, hardy taste and strong the way I enjoy my java. The sandwich was standard fare as far as the bacon, eggs and cheeses are concerned. The biscuit was good, it was flaky, delicious and fresh. They weren't very busy for a place with limited hours centered around breakfast so I hope they can sustain because the food sample I had was good. The location isn't visible to street traffic on south boulder road and it is tucked in the far corner so they will need repeat business. This place could probably be very easily overlooked as it's tucked away in the back corner of a strip mall. My husband and I were a little shocked to see the place was completely empty when we walked in although it was a little before 8am on a weekday. Although I'm glad that didn't scare us off. I ordered The Kenny with an egg added on top. The biscuit was delicious although I thought the chorizo was kind of lukewarm. Tucked away in the corner of a modest strip mall, Biscuit Bar indeed looks like a bar that serves all sorts of biscuit sandwiches. In other words, it's my favorite type of bar as a non-drinker. Similar to an alcohol bar, patrons order at the counter. After ordering, we received a number so that they knew where to bring out our food once it was ready. Our order came out so quickly that it seemed like all the ingredients were prepared beforehand, and all they needed to do was assemble upon ordering. I ordered the pulled pork biscuit sandwich with cheddar and apple butter, which was a huge hit with my infant who rejected his own food that we brought from home in favor of the pulled pork with a bit of apple butter. Mind...blown. I thought it was a tasty combination and a great portion size for the price, though the food was a lukewarm temperature and pulled pork a bit too salty for my taste. My husband ordered the breakfast biscuit sandwich with sausage, and his order was warm enough that the cheese was all melted and gooey. He proclaimed it to be a solid choice and described his mimosa as "a normal mimosa, perfectly adequate." My hot toddy was pretty watered down, which would have been a huge bummer had we not already had coffee prior to coming here for breakfast. Overall, I wish the coffee was stronger and the food was warmer, but the quick service can't be beat and it's a reasonably priced breakfast. Plus, the folks at the counter were super nice and friendly. P.S. While the Biscuit Bar closes at noon, the kitchen at Murdock's literally next door will serve the Biscuit Bar menu items until 2pm. Located right next to Murdock's, Biscuit Bar offers delicious biscuits in a setting that looks more like a bar, with dark wood and a long counter on the side. Parking is very easy since it's in a small strip mall, that's a plus in a (small) city where it has become tricky to find a spot downtown. They also serve a nitro cold brew which was a nice surprise. My chorizo, egg and cheese biscuit was big and delicious. Service was very friendly and prices are reasonable. Located off S Boulder Rd, this little place is not easily seen if you're not looking for it. While there's plenty of parking, it's nestled into the corner of an out of the way shopping center, but inside was one of the most wonderful breakfast joints in town. I met some friends here for breakfast at 8 AM on a Saturday. We ordered at the counter together, and within ten minutes all six of us had received our meals. I ordered the breakfast biscuit sandwich with chorizo, which was amazing. Their biscuits are the perfect combination of buttery, crumbly goodness, having enough structure to support my sandwich yet still tender enough to melt in the mouth. I also got a side of green chili, and it was equity wonderful. Pricing was extremely reasonable, and I ended up getting another biscuit to go for my husband, who stated that was one of the best biscuits he's ever had. Also at my table were the fried chicken sandwich, the Old #33, and biscuits and gravy, and every one of us was fully satisfied with our meals. When we left at 9, there were still very few people in the place, which made for a relaxing atmosphere. Pretty disappointing! Went in to Murdock's and ordered the fried chicken biscuit and gravy platter plus a kids chicken tenders to go since the biscuit side had just closed. The order took about 15 minutes and we took it home only to find out that they had given me basically a have a piece of chicken and no gravy whatsoever. The biscuit was very dry and crumbly and I'm not kidding you when I say there were literally maybe 2 ounces of fried chicken on the biscuit. My daughters kids chicken tenders had probably 12 ounces of chicken and the kids meal was half the price of the supposed "platter" I purchased. I called the restaurant and they said I could come back to get the gravy so I did and I told them that I was not happy with the platter at all, but they never offered any kind of credit or exchange and instead just gave me two free cinnamon rolls?! Uuuh okaaay!? I frankly would have much rather preferred a fresh non dried out biscuit since that's what I had ordered! I mean thanks, but no offense, I was more so looking to get something else in exchange because the portions were so poor for the price and so I just wrote it off and ordered another kids meal. She took my card for the payment I still tipped 18% and that was that. Quite frankly I'm not sure I'll be back because I don't feel that these people understand what you do in a situation where you screwed up an order and the customer wasn't really satisfied for good reason because the portions were so small. Kind of a weird situation in there. I gave it 3 stars for today, because there are really clear 'pros' and really clear 'cons,' but I'm sure it will evolve in one direction or another, as this narrative will illustrate. First off: The business is branded separately... but it's within the Mudrocks space, simply consuming the connected side room that they (and Ralphies and others before that) formerly used as an internal bar/event space. Since they seem to operate out of the same kitchen, and Mudrocks opens at 10 anyway (on the Sunday we went) and serves the same biscuit dishes in the larger restaurant. I get that Mudrocks is basically a sports bar, and 'Biscuit Bar' is going for the artisan foodie crowd. But they should resolve the identity thing. (For what it's worth, Denver Biscuit Company and Fat Sullys also do semi-independent, semi-affiliated branding in a common space: I guess that's a thing these days.) Dissonance continues when you seek to order. They have not yet worked out whether this is a 'serve yourself' restaurant (as with many aspects), or a 'table service' restaurant (as with certain hot dishes). It could be either/or, but in-between is awkward. More awkward is that the waitstaff (for Mudrocks and Biscuit Bar alike... or I can't quite tell?) seems to treat Biscuit Bar like the 'backstage' area for Mudrocks. A waitress was eating a full meal at the bar when we came in. Though there was no table service for ordering, at least 5 restaurant personnel wandered through at one point or another, and bantered loudly around customers who in some cases sought service. At one point the cook wandered over. 'Dude, go spin a sign or something!' one waitress joked with him, in light of the scant Biscuit Bar traffic (though it was Sunday breakfast prime time). At another point, four staff proclaimed: 'We should make a Biscuit Bar song!' one said. (That would be a fun song to hear. I look forward to it.) That's a pretty harsh review so far, so let's talk about positives. The biscuits are very good, as is the sausage gravy, the coffee, and other associated sandwiches (such as the Chicken Cordon Bleu, which I had)--and with the fair pricing and good portion sizes, it's a great value. The cinnamon rolls, 'serve yourself' from plastic containers like at a convenience store, were decent. It felt like a soft opening--but I asked, and they've been formally open nearly 4 weeks, so certain kinks in identity and service can't simply be explained away by newness. I may well be back, and I think they potentially add something excellent to the east Boulder County restaurant scene. The jury remains out. read more

Things I didn't like (really nitpicking - it didn't bother me really): My over easy eggs were closer to over hard. Not a huge deal for me, I like them both. I think someone in charge of the menu is a real coffee nerd. Which is totally fine, but just given the rest of the super casual atmosphere struck me as odd. I'd expect more of a "drip coffee" option. True to their word the hot toddy wasn't bitter but I personally found the roast to be slightly sour. Others clearly loved it. Btw, we overheard the staff mention you can go to the attached bar next door and order off the biscuit bar menu until 2pm if you want to try them out for lunch. The waitress saw we had our newborn so she cleared our table for us but usually it's a self clear. Super nice of her. :) If you're looking for something more hoity toity, go to Denver Bisquit co. and deal with the 90 min wait. If you don't need to be wined and dined and just want food biscuit sandwiches and skillets with no wait, check them out for less than a tenner. Great addition to Louisville. read more

The space itself is actually part of Mudrock's Tavern -- it's connected, the food comes from the same kitchen, and I have never been to Mudrock's but I think the decor did not change...there was a darts board on a wall. I truly wish the decor was updated, it felt so unfinished. Also, since they are located in a strip mall, the only light comes from one end and it is actually hard to see in there. Finally, Mudrocks has a patio with pretty flower baskets and quite a few tables, and I just thought it was a total waste -- that should be available for breakfast! The food was so good: great portions, and very reasonable prices. The service was non existent -- it was counter service. That was confusing and also seemed lazy to me.
