Picked up a Too Good to Go bag and was charmed by their decor and atmosphere. The employee was pleasant and explained they were trying out new items to add to their menu. There were two lunch portions and a whole container of fries, chicken souvlaki was so flavorful and the falafel was crunchy and tender! We will try dinner next!

5 stars, found this place by accident on Yelp while on route to New Hope Pennsylvania. This is a nice cozy spot in the heart of Flemington NJ. Great courteous service by Tito. One of the owner Mo, stopped by our table to ask how things were. He was engaging and genuine. The food was very good. This was a quick bite as I had dinner planned for about 4 hours from this lunch. Started with the falafel balls which came with Hummus. They had great flavor and it was a good portion. Sampled 2 salads, these were the bistro salad and the beet salad. Both were great ( see photos). All the food is fresh, not frozen, and made with love according to Mo. He was extremely proud and I definitely enjoyed the experience. Their brunch menu looks amazing and I can't wait to come back for brunch. Highly recommended and hope they do well. Well trained staff will not disappoint.

What great staff and service! I love seeing the Egyptian decor! Lovely music ! My server was very happy to make food suggestions. I hadn't had a tameya with Foul mudammas (stewed fava beans) serviced in aidh balady. Lovely hummus and bread also. Delicious food! Delightful time. Yalla.

I found Bistro 55 on Yelp. It had great reviews and now I know why. It's just a little place in a strip of stores right on Main St Flemington. Easy to find. It's decorated super cute and the bathrooms are clean. You can ByO , which we did and they gave us wine glasses. The food was so good! We got a 3 dip platter for an appetizer to share and then we split a mix grill platter for dinner. Everything was delicious and flavorful! We tried some dips we had not tried before and they were great! Our waiter was super nice and the service was excellent.

Catered from here, food was to die for. They gave us trays of mixed grilled meat, steak, chicken, lamb, rice and french fries. We had hummus and pita platter, chopped salad, orzo and lemon soup, Spanakopita, Garlic Shrimp, grilled veggiesand lemon potatoes. Even the people who said they didn't care for Mediterranean Food changed their minds and thought everything was delicious. We all fought for the left overs

I came across Bistro 55 searching for a restaurant in the Flemington area. The high ratings and menu options appealed to me. Thankfully, the reviews were on point. The service was great, and the staff was patient in dealing with the other members of my party. The food was fresh, presented nicely, and delicious. There were options for even the pickiest of eaters. I would eat here again!

There was a line outside the door, but it moved quickly as they had a nice process put in place. The staff was friendly and accommodating as we were ordering. I will describe what I had below. Personal Rosemary Focaccia ($16) - This was very large. I had this with homemade pasta, and it did the job. It was very light and cooked appropriately. The rosemary was definitely tasted on the outer edges. Pistachio Chocolate Almond Croissant ($7.75) - This was solid. It was very flaky and buttery with plenty of the chocolate filling. The chocolate was smooth and not overly heavy. I was hoping for a little better balance with the pistachio but did not taste much even though it was clearly there. B&C Turkey Club ($19) - This sandwich had turkey, thick-cut bacon, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and mayo on their country bread. This was made to order. The sandwich was well constructed with great layers. There was just enough mayo where the sandwich was not overly wet or dry. Everything went together nicely, but the country bread was the key. Will I go back? No doubt.

But it's either closed or parking is impossible or the street is overrun with police. Or worse yet - all 3. Last week however, it was open, bumping with people, and there were available spaces. Federales were still patrolling but I was locked in on carbohydrate comfort and thus unbothered. I dipped in for a couple coffees and sweets. It was about 1030 and we were headed to lunch afterwards so I kept it simple. I really wanted the malted latte but called an audible at the last second for a Paloma refresher. I also grabbed a rye (!) chocolate chunk cookie and an apple cake muffin. If we weren't going to lunch I would have ordered the avocado toast. It sounded delicious and while I was there a customer got one and it looked incredible! I really liked the food here - it was understated. I feel like a lot of bakeries hit you with cloying sweetness because bakery but anyone can dump a bunch of sugar in something - AND I ADORE SUGAR. But the restraint shone here really allowed the flavors to shine through and the food didn't sit like bricks in our tums. Very lively space with ample seating inside and out - I'd really like to come back on a day I'm playing hooky from work. Which given the state of my mental health could be as early as tomorrow. They're closed on Mondays though so let me pull myself together ;)

Or a buffet that no longer buffets. But pizza is a big part of their menu and a lot of people order it. I can tell you, from sight alone... I wouldn't call it pizza. It's cheese, toppings, and an extremely flat crust that I can only imagine crunches to smithereens. So I went very much with not pizza. Fortunately, the menu goes many other directions. I got a hot chicken sandwich with Cajun fries, basically regular fries with a little seasoning sprinkled on (not baked in). Took a little while to get to us, but once it did, I was impressed with the spice level. This is not for the faint of tongue. The fries were perfectly cooked, but I would say just get plain fries if that's your vibe. I could have upgraded to onion rings or similar, wasn't feeling quite hungry enough for that venture. Verdict: I don't know. It's not a diner. It's not a pizzeria. Definitely seemed kid-friendly. I think my date liked this place more than I did. So again, I'll go with the balance and stick 4 stars on the wall. Could return, not sure what else in Flemington might attract (seems fairly restaurant-barren).

The food here is to-die for, and is certainly one of the best restaurants in the area. I have friends who visit from out of town who specifically request to go to Blue Fish during their stay! This time, I chose the brisket with a side of the caramelized plantains, but I also often go with the chicken, steak, or salmon with the pesto butter. No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. The staff are very kind and the service is quick. The interior is modern and up-to-date, paralleled by its brick historic vibe exterior, as the Stangl Factory building was once a pottery/ceramic factory. Now, the building is home to Blue Fish Grill, as well as a number of other businesses including an artist-owned gallery, a large pottery studio, a medium, and a yoga and physical therapy studio. Stangl also hosts a weekly artisan farmers' market and bi-monthly live music and art events. It really is a growing creative community. Blue Fish Grill doesn't have a bar, but they do allow BYOB. However, my recent Sunday visit was a vaguely "meh" experience due to some disappointing service. We found out the hard way -- only after being seated, handed menus, and perusing our options -- that they strictly observe their "Breakfast Only" rule on Sundays. I was really craving a sandwich (having already eaten eggs earlier in the day), but when I asked for an accommodation, I got a blunt "No, we can't do that. We only serve breakfast on Sunday." I mentioned I was lactose-intolerant and almost all of the breakfast options (omelets, breakfast burger, etc.) were made with milk or cheese, but our server said the kitchen doesn't like making substitutions. This felt especially draconian considering there was only one other party seated in the restaurant at the time. To make matters worse, once I settled on a two-egg breakfast platter, the server informed me they were out of my first two meat preferences. My dining companion's omelete was served without key ingredients she added (and we were probably charged for). Our server never dropped off a check, so I walked up to the counter to pay after finishing our meal. Our server seemed genuinely surprised when I handed her enough cash to cover what she said our total was.. plus a ~20% tip (which I paid in spite of the service issues because I'm not a barbarian). The food itself was alright once it arrived, but the service just felt disjointed and "off" the entire time. It's a decent enough spot for the basics, but between the total lack of flexibility and the service hiccups, I'll say 2.5 stars rounded down to 2 stars and definitely won't try again next time I'm in Flemington. PRO TIP: They don't offer complimentary tap water with your meal, but they are happy to sell you a 16 oz plastic bottle of Poland Spring.
