Shame on me, I suppose, for falling for an obvious tourist trap. Anything in the shadow of a cathedral isn't going to be exactly authentic. But I was feeling touristy, so I sat down.
First off, I ask for a glass of chardonnay being that Reims is just miles away from where the chardonnay grape is grown. Well, the waiter pours me a Napa Valley chard. If I wanted to drink California wine, I could've done that from home.
Next, you look at the menu and the first two items are: hamburger and fish and chips. Red flag I ordered some french dishes, which were good, don't get me wrong.
Ultimately, if you're looking for a true French dining experience, this probably isn't it. But it has a great atmosphere and a great view. read more
