When we were there there was a live feed of hatching owls in the attic above the visitor center. We visited right after a heavy rain, but it was no issue as the sandy soils of the dunes drain the water super fast. No mud or puddles. We had drinks and pancakes in the restaurant. The restaurant is very comfortable and good size with indoor (including fireplace) and outdoor seating.
