Upon entering, I was asked if I needed help and let the sales rep know that I was looking for a raincoat for hiking and general walking around the city. He checked to see if there were any deals on any items (unfortunately, no). He then showed me a couple of models at different price points. I bought a nice model in a beautiful magenta color. It will be perfect for the trip. Loved the assistance I received. The quality of the item is high (got to test it out as we got rained on only 30 min after leaving the store). Very happy with my purchase.

I found items from Boohoo with the tags still attached. The items are in very good condition. Of course like many of the locations in NZ there aren't many people asking if you need help finding something or help with anything, but you can always ask a cashier at the front. There were only two checkouts, but if you shop there as soon as the doors open as I do, you shouldn't have any issues or experience long lines. The prices were fantastic in my opinion. The only thing I didn't see much of were belts, hats, purses or shoes, but this is the beginning of the year so I am sure there are loads of new stock. Don't take my word for it. Oh Cheapskates! What a lifesaver you are to me…read more I was on a mission to buy a gift for a thirteen year old family member and I was racking my mind for what to get. I was in Birkenhead- and from past experiences buying gifts I knew I had a limited option based on my age bracket this time. As I walked past Cheapskates I kind of had to do a double take, it didn't take me long after that to sprint in and check out what was at the front entrance. It took me less than 10 minutes to decide on two beautiful tops and I was happy that I had resolved my present issue. The outlet store, has some really cool clothing for sale, and shoes and accessories including boards to skate, backpacks for school, work or the gym too. Very helpful young guy who knew his style working the counter, was chatty and a good laugh. If you have teens in the family, they will be well impressed with this cool store.

But apparently it's now here to stay and I certainly am not complaining. When I stumbled upon it last week the $20 rack right in front of the door was fully stocked with awesome things! I snagged myself two tops from it and rushed into the back room to try them on. The dressing room was pretty much that... a back room with a little stand up mirror propped against a chair. But hey it did the job - and more importantly the clothes looked great. I then spent a good 20 minutes deciding which pair of shoes I was going to buy. They were only $40 each so in hindsight I regret not getting them both. The store also had a ton of dresses at only $50 each, summer shorts, menswear and hats. There was also the odd skateboard lying around and plenty of shoes! I was so happy to stumble upon this place. From outside it doesn't look like much but inside it's a treasure trove.

Whenever I am in the Upland Road village and walk past this store I can't help but poke my head in for a wee look as everything in there is stunning. If only the price was just as nice. River is definitely on the more expensive side. But it's here you are paying for quality of the goods. Originally starting in Keri Keri they still have a store up there selling the same fabulous designer clothing. There is plenty of street parking in this area. Just watch out for when it's a clear way, you wouldn't want to miss out on a new dress because you have to pay to get your car out of the pound.

Purchasing from this store feels like much more of an occasion, it feels special because it has a really boutique feel and everything is beautifully displayed. The staff here are really great and they help to create the friendly relaxed environment that this place has, I always feel comfortable talking to them and asking any questions they may have. I don't feel looked down upon here like I sometimes get at designer boutiques. The free street parking makes it very easy to spend a long time in this store as well as all the racks and tables full of absolutely beautiful clothing.

One of the great things about the store in particular is that they provide duty free and post orders anywhere in the world. So you can buy your special NZ gifts and then send them on to the bound to be stoked receivers, while your still in the store and forget all about it and continue on your travels without having to lug extras around with you.

I have purchased a few things from Sass & bide over many years with little to no problems up until…read morerecently when I purchased 2 pairs of gold plated earrings for $262 ...The biggest waste of $262 I have ever spent. Both pairs are only gold plated on the actual earrings and have a metal post so here is obvious deception #1 because specifically asked customer service beforehand on Instagram to confirm that these either have Platinum, surgical stainless steel or gold posts because my sisters ears get infected from cheap costume jewellery all the time. They confirmed to me it was plated too to which I assumed it would be for that high ticket price $$ Well guess what? You guessed it! They're cheap costume jewelry with metal posts that would likely infect anyone and everyone's ears. (May aswell have bought $5 earrings from Temu.) the metal looks that of an old coat hanger or fishing wire/floristry wire. And it's about as soft as floristry wire too because they arrived completely bent & broken in their plastic bags!! So I cannot even regift these poorly made earrings to anyone with less sensitive ears. Pics attached!! The posts were bent on one pair and crooked on the other. I contacted Sass & bide with my disappointment, I told them their customer service lied to me about the material of the earring posts and that I now had to spend more money to buy my sister another gift (I couldn't go empty handed, it was a special gift for my sister) I explained the earrings were bent & unwearable and even provided photos & then proceeded to catch my flight out of Melbourne . On the day I received them I was due to fly interstate as mentioned above, as I was visiting my sister to stay with her for a while, while I receive an intensive trial cancer treatment for the next few months. I have advanced cancer and no treatments have been effective thus far, so I had the opportunity to try an experimental trial treatment. I have not once used my health as an excuse for anything until now but I shared this to explain my situation expecting a little flexibility and compassion from Sass & bide to no avail . Only to find out when I am interstate that they will not refund them unless I send the broken earrings back. I am interstate and the earrings are at home. I explained my situation that I may not even be back home as I have quite advanced cancer & they refuse to refund or assist me in anyway unless I can get the earrings returned. They are currently sitting on my kitchen bench in Melbourne that no one has access to and I didn't bring them with me because why would I ? when I expected a photo of them being unwearable would be enough evidence for a large company to process a refund for not only lying to me about the earrings material but to send me broken earrings that I cannot even gift to a child. My guess is by the other abhorrent reviews here that they are possibly not doing well financially if they are this unreasonable, uncompassionate & now obviously distributing poorly made products for a high price. I am gravely unwell and I haven't told many people of my diagnosis but I shared it with the customer service representative 'Hallah' & I was absolutely disgusted at the treatment I received. They specifically said "our sincerest apologies for the less than amazing experience with us. But essentially policy is ...." less than amazing? You mean abhorrent? I cannot believe that with photographic evidence & my personal dire health that I vulnerably shared to better explain my circumstances that they are completely uncompassionate & unwavering to both the financial burden & state of my health. I am literally DYING & flying back interstate to retrieve broken, unwearable, cheaply produced overpriced costume jewelry to send back to a large company to retrieve my hard earned money back is the last of my priorities right now. The stress of this blatant daylight robbery alone is only weighing on me & my health further. I just cannot believe they refuse to assist me given I provided photographic evidence and yet they still want to wear down what little energy I have left to fight for my life. I cannot believe such a company would have that little compassion over $262, $262 dollars that I really need returned to me during this time of need. Shame on you sass & bide. I hope one day you have a loved one terminally ill who is scammed of their hard earned money so you know exactly how devastating it feels to be lied to a refused help! I will be posting this review to every platform possible & will be contacting all media & news outlets with my story to ensure no one else going through a devastating time experiences this type of treatment from such a well known brand as I'm sure "Sass & bide have refused to refund terminally ill patient Chloe after sending her damaged earrings, Chloe is undergoing radical cancer treatment & provided the company with photographic evidence of broken earrings but the large company refused to refund.
