I have been wanting to try Bizzarro for so long and FINALLY we went for an anniversary dinner. It was everything I hoped for and more! The ambiance is adorable with a bunch of random, quirky, fun decor. It feels like walking into a family owned restaurant in Italy! We had about a 45 minute wait, which we expected. We went to the bar at Plant Daddy next door by recommendation of the host, and they called us when our table was ready. They start you off with a huge chunk of focaccia bread with oil and vinegar. It was so good! We ordered the clam linguine and the gnocchi harvest melt. The clam linguini was a bit salty for my taste, but the gnocchi harvest melt was to die for. We tried the tiramisu for dessert, which was delicious! It was very tall, and I probably shouldn't have eaten the whole thing because I was very full when we left, but it was worth every bite and every penny. I will definitely be back to Bizarro! I loved it here. Next time I want to try the Forest Floor Frenzy.

The seating area outside is tight but looks old so maybe the metal fences were actually used to distinguish a smoking area vs the sidewalk in the day? But it's def cute and small, dog friendly outside. I didn't know this but they serve their Ceasars with sardines (I ordered off the happy hour menu $5) and kinda romaine wedge style? The server was really kind when I declined the salad immediately and I finished enjoying my wine before leaving. Will probably return without my dog to look at the full menu inside.

Bizzarro Italian Cafe never fails! The bread is on the table the minute you're sat, and immediately refilled. Service is warm and doting. It's a smaller space, and reminds me of the Billy Joel song, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant! The wine list was superb and the portions are fresh and hot off the grill. We love love Bizzarro!!! Please save room for the tiramisu!

This unique little Italian spot is a hidden gem in Seattle! We dined here and enjoyed such excellent food ave service. When we arrived we put our name on a waitlist, waited outside, then the hostess called when our table was ready. We were seated with fresh water on the table and then immediately bread was delivered. Yum! Our entrees were the jalapeño gnocchi and the golden crunch pesto. We upgraded our salads to a Ceasar and the sun-kissed caprese. I could seriously eat the caprese salad every day. It was so good!! And the chicken pesto dish was amazing!

Extremely artistic and eclectic Italian restaurant. The wait time is crazy long but the food is worth the wait. The seating is a bit close but lends to an intimate environment. I tried the Marguerita Chicken Pasta and for dessert the Chocolate Torte. I tasted the gnocchi dish and it was pretty good as well.

My partner and I frequent the Wallingford neighborhood, and we wanted to try Bizarro's after passing by it so many times. The food was decent for the price, but at the same time, there are quite a few other good Italian restaurants in the city that we're probably more likely to return to. I'd give Bizarro's a 3 out of 5, or maybe slightly higher. To start, the focaccia bread with oil and vinegar was delicious, complimentary, and infinite, which is unfortunately quite a rarity these days! For our appetizer, my partner and I shared the arancini rice balls. The rice balls had a nice crunchy coating, but the risotto filling and the sauce that came with it weren't particularly flavorful. They tasted fine, but I think perhaps we've been spoiled by better versions of the dish elsewhere. For my main course, I ordered the seasonal gnocchi (with chicken added). The texture of the gnocchi was just okay, maybe not quite as soft and pillowy as I would have liked, but I enjoyed the slightly sweet sauce that came with it. I also appreciated the generous portion size. I ended up with a decent amount of leftovers, which was enough for most of a meal the following day.

This spot has been on my list for a while - I was so incredibly excited to try ! We came on a Friday evening and waited about 20-30 minutes to get seated (no reservations). **Pros:** - One-of-a-kind, eclectic interior - The staff is so cheery and sweet :) - Yummy focaccia and oil, and lovely starter salads **Mixed:** - I enjoyed the banana cheesecake ($11), but my boyfriend was hoping for more of a banana cream pie-esque dessert, and this was not that. It was more like cheesecake with a few banana pieces. - The food unfortunately falls flat for the prices. My boyfriend got the spaghetti and meatballs ($26) and commented that the spaghetti was mushy, and the marinara was nothing special. I liked my cannelloni ($26) :) Very cheesy! **Cons:** - Just a personal nitpick, but I love leftovers so much I hate when they are packed haphazardly--and my cannelloni was upside down, and maybe half of it did not get packed :( **Summary:** The restaurant offers a unique atmosphere and friendly staff, but the food quality does not justify the high prices. While some dishes were enjoyable, others fell short of expectations.

Yum! I highly recommend this fun and funky little place with its weird bathrooms and delicious food! Everything we ordered was well prepared, especially the Caesar salad and they have a variety of cocktails. The server helped me decide and even made a small substitution that I appreciated.

The decoration in this place is so eclectic and unique. You won't be bored during your meal. The food, unfortunately, is just mediocre and maybe it's the entrees we ordered. I love lasagna, but this lasagna was overpowered by the amount of marinara sauce and was not as flavorful as I had hoped. My husband got the forest floor frenzy pasta which had wild mushrooms and walnuts in a cream sauce. This pasta was better but also could have used more flavor and the pasta could have been cooked a minute or two less. Maybe others have had better luck with the other entrees!

Epic unique spot with super large portions on the pasta. We went for a few group dinners and the service was excellent!

Pasta, cheese, consistency, those are the three things that come to mind when I think of Bizzarro cafe in Wallingford. I've been coming here for years, and this is the kind of place that surprises you with something special every time you come. The eclectic art work on the walls makes it a fun place to bring friends who are new to town. You never know what's going to pop up the next time you're there.. you might catch a skeleton riding a motorcycle during your next bite of meatballs. I've tried almost everything on the menu and have never been disappointed. But their ability to come up with new specials impresses me every time. You want some lighter summer time gnocchi? You got it. You want some cannelloni with enough to cheese to put you to sleep immediately? They got that. Plus, fantastic bread for free? Someone needs to put together a list of all of the great places in Seattle that do such a thing for their customers, there's a special place in my heart for them.

A solid Seattle classic restaurant, tucked and hidden away just off of 45th. The interior is a quirky hodgepodge of antiques, a very Portland-y vibe. The restaurant filled up fast right after 5 pm so I recommend getting there when it opens or at timing it right for subsequent rounds of seatings. We started off splitting the arancini - a classic that is always delicious. For mains, I had the elk bolognese and my husband had the chili crisp Alfredo. The food was good, but wasn't super unique or something I felt was beyond my own cooking ability. Overall a solid place that I'm glad I tried, but personally I prefer to spend a few more dollars and get something that really wows me.

The interior of the restaurant is cozy and simplistic, not too pretentious, and definitely allows you to settle in and enjoy without feeling stiff. First of all, our server (I think his name was Alfredo but my deepest apologies if I am mistaken) was super sweet and attentive. The front of house manager also brought us an amouse bouche at the beginning of our meal and was also super kind and clearly takes pride in his work. He even brought us another one because my husband loved it so much! Our server recommended a wine that was perfect for my palate and paired well with the meal we ordered and my husband's cocktail was balanced and delicious even for a non bourbon drinker like me. We ordered the cabbage appetizer, which was like a more exciting and fresher take on a caesar salad, and was quite good. Then, we had the special risotto with lamb sausage. I would have absolutely done unspeakable things for more of that risotto. It was indescribable. We also ordered the halibut and polenta, and the fish was cooked to the perfect temp and well seasoned. Neither of us typically lean toward polenta as a menu option but if all polenta tasted like this that might change! The fat from the guanciale made it especially velvety and that was an excellent pairing with the fish. Overall, we will be back expeditiously, and hope to encounter the same lovely team!!

When I made the reservations a few weeks prior, the only one I could get was on the patio. This actually turned out to be wonderful because we were the only ones on the patio and there were heat lamps. The menu focuses on Piemontese (I.e., Northern Italian) dishes, and so the dishes don't feature tomatoes or many of the ingredients you may be used to seeing in Italian dishes. We started with the insalata verde and the carciofi appetizers, both of which were incredible. My friend and I each got the cavatelli with morels and my spouse got the tajarin with ragu. Our server told us that they make the tajarin in-house and the two tajarin dishes are mainstays on the menu. And while the tajarin was wonderful, I preferred the cavatelli.

Let me tell you, Lupo is high on my list of "Best 'Za In Seattle", and it will be on yours as well. The waiter told us something about how they're "fancy pizza but not stuck up" (not a direct quote), which fits right in with Seattle gastronomic philosophy. It's worth trying to get here early in the night, because it can be difficult to get a seat. And you want to have some time to sit down and enjoy this pizza. Make sure you wear your best sitting pants though, because you're in for a meal that will make you progressively adjust the belt loops as time goes on. I'm sure that there are plenty of top notch pizzas across the menu here, but the Caesar salad may have been a best-in-class item. The dressing was perfectly balanced with just enough anchovy taste, and there was exactly enough of it on every bite. Instead of having croutons in the salad, they had a heaping portion of toasted breadcrumbs that made each bite so much more interesting. Caesar himself would be proud. All of the pizzas sounded great, but I was pretty sure that they would be able to execute on a cacio e pepe flawlessly here, and I wasn't disappointed. The initial bite was everything that I could have hoped for. But I would make sure that you demolish this pizza promptly - it's not one that's great as leftovers. I think that is the case for most pizza of this style anyways. I am ridiculously excited about coming back to Lupo in the future to try more pizzas. If you are currently reading this and haven't been here yet, I strongly urge you to close this review and head there immediately!

FOOD POISONING ALERT…read more I'm 8 months pregnant and came here on Mother's Day with my husband and toddler, hoping for a nice family celebration. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a long time. I ordered the seafood linguine special, while my husband had the veal marsala. The seafood in my pasta immediately tasted off -- especially the clams and mussels, which seemed old and likely frozen for far too long. Even my toddler, who normally LOVES seafood pasta at Italian restaurants, refused to take a second bite after trying it. I enjoyed seafood pasta from many other places but could barely finish my food that day. Later that night, I developed severe abdominal pain. At 8 months pregnant, any cramping is terrifying, and I genuinely thought I might be going into labor. After hours of pain coming and going, bloating, gas, vomiting, and diarrhea the next day, it became pretty obvious the food was the cause. Ruined Mother's Day and caused unnecessary stress during pregnancy. I will never order seafood from here again.

I tried to order the fettuccine de mare, listed at $29 (no extra fees on Toast), but they told me it would be $43. That already didn't make sense. Then the server says, "We actually have 50% off happy hour until 11, come in and dine." So I came in. Ordered a drink, escargot, and a steak medium rare. The escargot came out fine. Then... nothing. 39 minutes later (at 10:45pm), the server asks if I'm waiting on anything else. Yes... my steak. She goes to check, disappears, and then comes back with something that honestly felt DISTESPECTFUL. The steak looked like scraps. Uneven, mismatched chunks, all different sizes, with burnt, crispy edges and covered in sauce like they were trying to hide it. It didn't look like a single cut of meat it looked like pieces from multiple steaks thrown together. The plating was sloppy, and the side looked like an afterthought. I didn't take a bite. I looked through it and said, "This looks like pieces from different steaks." She told me she watched them cut it... then immediately followed that by saying she saw them put it under a heat lamp to reheat. So which is it? I work in the food industry. I'm not going to be gaslit over a plate like that. She offered to refire it, but at that point it was almost 11 and they were closing. I paid for my drink and left. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset if they had just told me the kitchen was closing when I called. But don't invite me in, forget my order, and then serve something like this and try to pass it off like it's normal. Just be honest.

When we first arrived we were given the option of either the chef's counter or a table. I thought the chef's counter was a unique experience but for the night we opted for a table near the window. The space is intimate and even though there weren't many people there when we first got there, it still gave a warm and cozy vibe (quickly filled up though). The week of my friend's birthday they were only doing Seattle Restaurant Week, which I hadn't realized at first but the menu was amazing regardless. The staff was very attentive to us, constantly checking in on us and making any adjustments as needed. They thoughtfully walked us through our choices and when the food arrived. First we started with appetizers which I thought it was nice that you get to try all them and didn't have to choose one. The salad and asparagus is what you would expect, but they were perfectly done and not overly complex. The stand out was the Seared Tombo, the flavors of this dish were balanced and the fish was clearly very fresh! For our main we both got the halibut option, which came with a side of sunchokes. We had never had sunchokes before but were immediately in love (the fish was cooked to perfection too) but I loved the introduction of not so common ingredient. I thought it was a fun play on traditional "potatoes" almost. I'm glad we were able to try both of the desserts. My favorite was the tiramisu (I always love tiramisu). The carrot cake was more on the dryer side (almost like a cornbread), which isn't my preference but I enjoyed the flavors. Overall, really enjoyed this place and would definitely come back!

We got 4 appetizers, a pasta, an entree, and dessert. My fav items were the shrimp in polenta (shrimp was crispy without seemingly any breading, perfectly cooked and flavored) and the lamb skewers (well seasoned and cooked. Big fan of lamb in general). I also liked the deviled egg on kimchi, though it didn't taste like kimchi very much. The salad had too much dressing unfortunately and the crostini was interesting. We got a few drinks but my main impression is that they are strong! SERVICE Service here was so great and friendly. I only saw 2 front of house and 1 back of house so it's a small place. The front of house also bartend and make the drinks. I do wish the front of house explained the dishes a little more when they brought out the food. They told us the name of the dishes but as I was eating I realized it would've been nice to get a better idea of what was in it exactly, or halfway through I'd think "wait what else is in this?" AMBIANCE Tastefully decorated, small, and intimate. It was not busy when we came at all, with only up to 4 other tables having diners. I think this allowed the staff to focus on each table a little better without being overwhelmed. Overall had a good time. I admittedly wasn't blown out of the water but for $89/person for a fancier meal, I would say this is priced right for what you get (food, service, and ambiance included).
