Came in for drinks and pizookies and received awful service. our server wasn't friendly and after taking our order completely ignored us, my boyfriends drink never arrived, and we had to ask a different server for a spoon, my root beer float came out in a normal glass with barely any root beer in it, and the $5.99 mocktail he ordered was still on the bill after we didn't get it. we tried to flag our server down to try and have the drink taken off the bill and he actively ignored us, we went up to the front and spoke with a manager to get the drink taken off and there was no apology or attempt to help the situation at all. like it's not a big deal to forget a drink, just weird because our server was standing right there and wouldn't even look at us it was so strange lol shoutout the host tho when we asked for a manager she was super nice and was the only one who smiled the whole time & also told us our server had swapped but no one had told us, appreciate u girl read more

- It's never a good sign when the bartender at a tap room isn't 'beer-literate.' Asked about the Hen House, got a blank stare and "um, it's Hen House...(whatever that is)." I was offered a taster (which earned the 2nd star) - g'friend's cheeseburger was ok - my "medium" jalapeño burger was almost raw; kinda gross, and I'll pay for it later - my 'whatever it was' beer was gone (not a short wait for the food) after the first bite of my sushi, I mean jalapeño burger. 20x minutes later, it was still empty, with the bartender studiously ignoring my glass (I moved it closer and closer to the inside edge for giggles) - g'friend asks me if I want another beer; told her I did, but I wanted to see if anyone other than she asked... - ...no one did. I ordered online via the BJ's website two (2) separate orders to ensure I get my big balla' loyalty discount (lol): My first item was a LARGE Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza: chicken....smoked bacon...jack + cheddar cheese....roasted garlic....red onions....diced tomatoes....drizzle of ranch....50% OFF :) My second item was the Bone-In Wings: sauced up with my choice Tatonka Stout Buffalo Sauce.....$10 OFF :) I made a personal mistake failing to order, "BJ's Original Wings". Rather, I inadvertently ordered the Bone-In Wings. The main difference between the two dishes is that the OG wings are breaded and lightly drizzled with buffalo and ranch. These wings were my go-to for quite a while. $10 off would of made the deal sweeter :) The "Bone-In Wings", on the other hand, are fried naked. I'm OK with naked wings, just as long the chicken skin is rendered to a light crisp and the meat is thoroughly cooked and fleshy, tender. As for this Concord location, the bone-in, naked wings was underwhelming. The wings were not rendered down and the chicken meat had an average tenderness. Additionally, these naked wings just didn't compare to the OG Wings. ...now for the pizza (and my little story)........ I gave the staff an ample amount of time to get both orders (wings and pizza) ready. I arrived to pick up my order at 20 minutes passed the promised time. It was 9:20 PM and I saw 2 bags at the takeout section. Some staff lady was present, but she had a handful of stuff in her hand and she advised to turn back to the hostess. The hostess handed me my bags and I was on my way. I didn't bother to notice my pizza wasn't in a box. I took a peak in one of the bags which looked like a bunch of cups filled with ranch. I assumed the other bag was the Bone-In Wings. After stopping midway in the parking, I tuned back around towards the restaurant to get my LARGE Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza . After waiting a few minutes, some guy comes out of the kitchen with several bags in his hands. Two other customers stand in line ahead of me and quickly grab the bags from the staff member.....still no pizza. I approached the staff member and I told him I ordered 50 minutes ago, yet I only received my wings. I flat out asked him, "Did you give my order to someone else?" He denied it and reassured me that he always double-checks orders with customers. OK...I figured there was some technical glitch. But how in the heck did he act as if he didn't see my order when BJ's obviously saw my Chicken Wing order? On a side note, I received a confirmation email saying my order will be ready, "Tomorrow". So confusing. I had to double check if I inadvertently ordered my food for the following day (or not). In fact, when I told him my name for the order he never confirmed he received a 2nd order for the pizza. Furthermore, I thought I saw him hiding near the bathroom, while a different staff member approached me. The new staff member approached me and reassured me, "she'll look into this issue"...30-35 minutes later (nearly an hour after first walking in).....my hot pizza is here! I walked up to the Takeout counter, and I lightly joked that I was so hungry I had been eating my wings at the lounge while waiting for my "mysterious" pizza order. Honestly, the wings were so poorly executed, I had to give her my feedback on these wings. She didn't hesitate to rectify the situation. I was like, "cool"...but still it ,took a whole hour for my pizza to come out LOL. As the female staff member handed my pizza, I curiously asked, "What happened this whole time?" ...See...what had happened...was...oh, yeah...somebody gave my pizza to the WRONG person LOL Had any of the staff members told me this information much earlier, I would of had the opportunity to get my refund and be on my way LOL To leave Elvine hanging out at the lounge for an extra 40 minutes while eating underwhelming wings...only to find out the kitchen was cooking a new pizza AFTER giving away Elvine's pizza to another customer...AND failing to tell Elvine that the staff made an honest mistake.. ....hadn't Elvine asked what happened to his original order...BJ's would have swept this situation under the rug...that's bad business. No wonder the lady quickly offered my refund for the wings without hesitation LOL On a positive note, the freshly, baked Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza was delicious. The piping, hot pie had a perfectly crisped traditional thick crust. Everything up top appeared fresh :). I didn't appreciate how the slices weren't thoroughly cut, though. I was still so hungry, I just started ripping off hot pieces from the sides in my car LOL. While the pizza was a solid 4 out of 5 stars, my experience with the bad wings, the poor "service", unanticipated waiting time, confusing email turnaround time, and poor pie cuts...dives 'em down some notches...1 star. Came in as a group of 3 at 10pm on a weekday. The restaurant itself was pretty crowded but there was no one in the waiting area so we thought that the wait wouldn't be that long. We were told that our wait was going to be about 20-25 minutes due to have only 2 servers for the eating area, which was fine with us. We ended up waiting closer to 40 minutes with no updates throughout from the staff until we had to go up ourselves and ask about how much longer we had to wait. We eventually got seated around closer to 11pm. We were there mainly for the pizookies but also ordered other items off the menu, such as the brewhouse bites sampler and the deep dish ziti. Pizookie itself satisfied the sweet tooth cravings but the other dishes were fairly subpar. Would go here again only if I had cravings for the pizookies. Our server however was very nice and attentive. She checked in with us very often to see how things were going and if we needed anything. Food itself also came out fast (around 10-15 minutes). However the wait time was very off putting, especially that late at night. We ended up spending a bit over 2 hours at the restaurant, half of which was pure waiting. read more

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday, so we decided to celebrate at BJ's. With no prior reservation, we arrived at 8 p.m. as a party of 8. The in-laws were in attendance. The wait was reasonable given our party size, and believe it or not, there were quite a few people dining. I wish they had a separate area for larger parties that didn't involve seating us in the middle of the walkway, but what other choice did they have? Our waiter started off strong. He greeted us, gathered our drink and appetizer orders right away. We were saddened to hear they discontinued their root beer wings (a family favorite), so we opted for their peppered BBQ wings as well as the lemon pepper wings. Both were bone-in. Although they weren't as good as the root beer wings, we all agreed the peppered BBQ wings were the better of the chosen appetizers. I ordered my usual jambalaya ( it's a safe choice) along with a side of the honey sriracha Brussels sprouts. My F-I-L ordered the pork chop with mash and asparagus. My S.O. ordered prime rib (medium-rare) mash and asparagus as well. Of course, there were others at the table, but those are the three entrees I'm going to focus on. The food arrived before our table was cleared. The table was never cleared until the end. A pet peeve that will ruin a pleasurable dining experience is being rushed to order, entrees arriving without the appetizer plates being cleared, and being thirsty without water or the waiter in sight. We were victims of all three. As you can imagine, we are already a large party, so space as well as movement were limited when placing the food on the table and indulging. The jambalaya is my safe choice for a reason. Despite how bland I found it to be, it was still edible. The honey sriracha sprouts were a great mix of sweet and spicy with a little crunch to it. It was my favorite part of my meal. The pork chop looked amazing and was well plated and sized nicely, my F-I-L did however complain that it was also bland, we joked that the asparagus were so thin we called them shoelace asparagus, too emaciated to enjoy. As for the prime rib, it was prepared medium rare as requested and devoured though again it was found to be rather bland in flavor. As we went around the table eating our meals, my daughter's baked potato received the highest rating of an 8.4/10. The Pork chop was rated a 7/10, the Prime Rib was an 8/10 and my jambalaya was a solid 7/10. The waiter refilled water for two out of the 8 of us without having to be asked immediately after the food was delivered, in spite of the other cups being visibly half empty. We waited quite a bit for the waiter to return to offer to go containers and take our dessert orders, at this time our table still hadn't been cleared. At this point we have appetizer plates, dinner plates, to-go containers all on the table as the dessert arrived. It wasn't until the birthday pizookie was placed on the table, that the table was cleaned. Around this time we also noted that the door directly adjacent to the table was being opened and closed often resulting in an uncomfortably cold breeze disrupting our enjoyment. With a table full of all the things, and a breeze that gave winter and food that didn't quite meet our standard, we were ready to leave and so we did. The food and service quality has left much to be desired so it will likely be a while before we visit again. read more

We're finally done with our SF assignment, and I'm so glad to be outta there, with all that traffic and crowds and high prices. Back in the East Bay now and it time to get some lunch. BJ's Brewhouse still has the $13 Pizookie specials. I've had these before at other locations and really thought they were a great deal and very tasty! This location is right off Contra Costa Blvd. in the Sun Valley Mall. Just turn in and park in front. It's so nice to have a big parking lot compared to that disaster in SF! We get seated and drink orders taken. I got the $13 Pizookie special with the Classic topping personal deep dish pizza. You have a bunch of other choices, even a burger, but I think the deep dish is the best deal, cause it comes with a salad as well. All of the Pizookie specials come with a mini Pizookie dessert of different flavors. That mini size is plenty of dessert, yep it's super sweet if you're one of those people that needs to watch their sugar intake. Three outta the four on my crew get the deep dish pizza option. It was a little while for them to come out. We got the salads first and I gotta say the side salads are decent sized here for sure. The pizzas seem small in diameter, but they're real thick and not just all thick with bread but all the toppings! We all finished with that Pizookie dessert and I had the strawberry and cream version, I was actually pretty damn tasty. I'd come back to BJ's of any location as long as they keep this Pizookie deal going! read more

Always wanted to try out their $13 pizzokie meal deal, so I finally had time to give it a shot. I ordered via online, so it would be a lot easier for me to pick it up once I arrive at the Mall. Smash Burger: It was a pretty decent burger for the price. There were two patties smashed together, along with the normal fixings of cheese, produce and pickles. It was not too greasy nor too oily. The sauce was not overwhelming either, so the bun was able to keep its form. The fries were a bit of a letdown. It was crispy but I fed the amount I got was a lot less than what I would get if I dined in. Salted Caramel Pizzokie: I chose this as my little dessert. Everything comes separate, so you can assemble it at home. It was a lot of ice cream for the little cookie, but it was absolutely delicious. Definitely taste the salt and the caramel counter balances it for the sweetness. The chips were also a good texture. Overall, I can see myself ordering here again, especially for the pizzokie deal. read more

It had been a couple of years since my last visit, and back then the food was pretty mid. My boyfriend wanted to try their new pizza, so we decided to go on a Friday night. BJ's restaurant and brewhouse is located at SunValley Shopping Center, just outside by the parking lot and no need to go inside the mall itself. This place reminds me of Applebees or Outback steakhouse and similar places vibe. The front person is somehow not attentive, no greetings nor us asked why we are there, we had to ask him and say for two to be assisted and seated. I finally had the opportunity to taste the mouth watering pizookie, we had the salted caramel pizookie and chocolate chunk pizookie, and delectable chicken parmigiana dinner. The server Jade is amazing and helped us all throughout the short visit. Out food arrived in a timely manner, a little bit wait is expected as it is a Sunday I assume. When my friend and I decided to meet at BJ Brewhouse, we forgot it was a holiday. Much busier than usual during the noon hour. Apparently at least one server had not shown up and that added to the delay in being seated. We ended up in the bar area by the window. Our server was extra busy and it was hard to flag her down as we were quite a distance from her work station. Our food was fine. My friend enjoyed her clam chowder in a bread bowl. The top of the bowl had been sliced into a small piece and toasted. I had a bite and it was delicious. My friend also ordered hot tea. No choice on tea was offered and she ended up with two bags of chamomile. That selection was fine with her but quite odd that a black tea was not offered. I had the vegetarian BJ Brewhouse Bowl. (Also available with chicken, shrimp, or salmon.) Love the combination and quite filling. One of the more economical lunches (aside from the lunch specials.) Overall BJ's has a good menu. Something for almost every taste. Pazookies are not my favorite so it would be nice to have another dessert option other than a scoop of ice cream. BJ Brewhouse is looking a bit "tired" ... which can be said of all of Sunvalley. But it still is a decent option when in the area. I'll be back ... despite my three star rating. Came to BJ's twice and each time the service exceeded expectations. The staff here are friendly, attentive, and quick. BJ is also kid/family friendly. The food, in particular the smash burger is surprisingly good. I always just thought BJ was known for its pizza and pazooki, but the burger is nothing to sneeze at. It's very flavorful, well proportioned, and hits just right. The fries are also crispy on the outside and moist on the inside - very addictive. Went for our 27th anniversary, and the experience was amazing. I ordered a somewhat-complicated manhattan that wasn't on the menu and our server Justina made it happen! She was super accommodating with my wife's tree nut allergy as well which was so refreshing, since not a lot of restaurants nowadays look out for the little guy. We ordered the Mac&cheese balls for starters, and my prime rib was cooked great as well, compliments to the kitchen! What a joke ! Who is running this place? After they screwed my delivery order up, which I ordered through their website. Supposedly my order was cancelled 45 min after I ordered it due to there being no more tritip! I called and spoke with a manager. I told him, you already charged my credit card and charged me for delivery , but I was hungry so I said I'd come pick the order up. Now they have tri tip available again an hour later. That's funny! He told me my order got cancelled because there was no tri tip. Anyhow, I drive down there to get my order, the guy in front seemed brain dead . I told him my name and I was picking up a takeout order. I sat there waiting 15 min and he says , duhhh what's the name for the order again? I give him my name again and he grabs the bag that was sitting there the whole time I'd been waiting. I get home and look in the bag and there is no salad , the baked potato has nothing on it , not how I ordered it and the tri tip was like chewing on a piece of leather. Top it all off and my pazooli cookie is missing the ice cream. Do these people even care to try and get someone's order right? I work hard for my money and to have it wasted on an order that was all wrong and thrown together half ass really pisses me off. Hello. My friends and I were at Bjs yesterday, June 11th at around 8 pm when the mall closed. We were a group of 4 teenage girls and felt like we were getting mistreated because of that. Once we arrived we had to wait about 15-20 minutes which is fine we didn't mind that. When we were seated one of the servers who is a little bit on the shorter side and wore glasses threw us three coasters when there were four of us and said "'ll be back to take your guys's orders." About 15-20 minutes go by and no sign of any workers to take our order. When we were helped by a different sever we ordered drinks and our pizookies together since that's all we were there for. Another 15 minutes go by, no drinks in sight and not even another coaster. After about 45 minutes we get our drinks and then soon after we got out pizookies but, one of them were wrong so the servers brought it back to the kitchen. My friends and I asked for some plates and a couple more spoons and when we were given them, one of the plates were dirty with pizza grease and some sort of pizza toppings. (i'll insert a photo below) We ate the first pizookie in about 10 minutes and waited for our second one for about 20 minutes. While we were eating, we weren't checked up on at all but the tables around us were. When my friends and I were ready to pay we scanned the qr code on our table and found out it didn't work. So, we tried to get one of our servers attention to get the check but we were completely ignored. Once the check was brought we waited another 20 minutes for our server to come pick it up. I understand restaurants can get busy but, at around the time we were there it wasn't that busy at all. My friends and I noticed that all the tables around us were getting served and checked up on regularly and we weren't. After we left we had called the restaurant and were put on hold for the manager. When they answered it instantly hung up. We called again and talked to one of the managers didn't seem to care. We have gone to this location before and it was perfectly fine. The food was just okay, very basic and nothing memorable. Unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our waitress disappeared several times, making it difficult to get any assistance. We had to wait an extremely long time for both our drinks and our food, and overall the experience was frustrating. Everything was very tasty. (Definitely recommend the spinach & artichoke dip) The Tito's strawberry lemonade had a kick but not as much as I was expecting luckily. The Long Island had a bit more. As far as the pizookies, classic but still really delicious! Sweet tooth satisfied. The spooky pizookie just tasted like vanilla but colored orange for the theme. Horrible experience! I almost never leave Yelp reviews, but this delivery experience was bad enough that I had to. I ordered through BJ's website. BJ's uses DoorDash for delivery, which is fine in theory, but the restaurant completely mishandled the order. My order was marked ready for pickup, but the driver texted me saying he had already been waiting about 20 minutes and the staff still had not given him the food. He said he had asked multiple times. I called BJ's myself. The first call got me nowhere. On the second call, I was transferred to whoever handles delivery orders and then sat there for around 10 minutes listening to hold music, with the music stopping and store noise coming through, then the music starting again, over and over, before anyone finally picked up. The driver told me he could hear the restaurant phone ringing while staff were busy chatting and not answering it. When someone finally answered and eventually checked, I was told my order had gotten mixed up with someone else's and they needed to remake it. I confirmed the order details with them and told them the driver had already been waiting a very long time. They said it would take another 20 minutes and that they would speak to the driver. I informed the driver. Later, I got a call back saying the food was ready, but now the driver was gone and not responding. He wasn't responding to my texts either. I told them several times that this was not something I should have to fix. I ordered on BJ's website. Their delivery arrangement with DoorDash is their responsibility, not mine. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager then gave me a different explanation and said my order instructions had confused them, which directly contradicted what I had been told earlier. At that point, I did not care which version was true. The issue was that their staff had already wasted the driver's time, wasted my time, and handled the whole situation badly from start to finish. In total, I spent close to an hour dealing with this. The worst part was not even the food. It was the terrible communication, the lack of accountability, and the feeling that they were trying to shift blame instead of simply owning the mistake and fixing it properly. Appalling customer service, lack of accountability, and poor treatment of a delivery driver! I understand the driver stopped responding after waiting that long. The root cause here was BJ's staff and how poorly this situation was handled from start to finish. read more

We came to BJs for the Pizookie Tuesday deal and we got two and our server Rico was the best, he was super kind and went above and beyond to make our experience awesome! The Pizookies are really good too! A great way to finish up our meals with a sweet treat! 10/10 would come again! read more
