We came here for appetizers, pizookies, and drinks only. Our waiter was super cool and the food came out quick. We tried the root beer alcoholic beverage that was super good and had pizookies. It was a busy Sunday evening, but the service was quick and the food was great.

I heard they have a $13 deal and I decided to try it out! There were lots of entrees to choose from as well as a personal sized pizookie! I ordered the chicken parmasean with pasta. It was lunch size but it was a good portion for me! I was surprised the chicken was quite tender! I ordered the triple chocolate chunk pizookie and I liked how it was chocolate-y enough for me! I also tried a bit of mom's smash burger. That was good too. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The burger bun was soft and it was good, I would get this on my own in the future! She got the strawberry shortcake and having real strawberries were nice. The vanilla ice cream had actual vanilla beans in it and it tasted legit haha. The pizookie was a tad too sweet for me though. The service was amazing. I believer her name was Sana or Shana -- she was kind, thoughtful, and friendly!

Came here for dinner last week. Sat at the bar because they said they needed to wait for a couple tables to clear in main dining. Sat at a high top and waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged and get our drink order taken. Finally received our food an hour into the ordeal. Got the avocado rolls and they were good, even if a little unappealing to the eye. They brought us potstickers though instead of our spinach dip. Being vegetarian that didn't work so we asked for our regular order. Eventually got it and it was good. Also never received water. 5.7/10

I recently saw BJ's ad for deep dish pizza and just had this craving that I had to satisfy. As noted by others, this isn't your "chicago" deep dish, but that doesn't take away anything from it being delicious. The deep dish has that crispy edge, it was bready, cheesy, and full of toppings. 5* and hits the spot. Our server Alex was full of positive vibe and high energy from the get go, there was a bit of miscommunication when I shared that the adult root beer was flat, and was hoping he can add some fizz to it, but he ended up giving me a regular root beer (which I was suggesting maybe add that for the fizz). No big deal, knock off a star for the drink itself and not for the effort Alex put in. My wife had the burger which wasn't spectacular but very solid. Kids enjoyed the food as well, the happy face potatos were fun but they thought it was too mushy. All in all I think this spot is rising on our chain family restaurant ranking.

We came in late after working on a project. The restaurant was still about an hour till they closed so we didn't feel like we were too late. Our server was friendly and got us drinks pretty rapidly. We ordered food and it all arrived in good time. I had the garlic shrimp which was very good. We also shared the deep dish nachos. Those were just OK. The chicken seems to be pre-cooked and warmed up. Not many vegetables, mostly just a lot of cheese making the chips quite soggy. Since the kitchen was getting ready to close our server, ask if we wanted to get any dessert which we did. It was also last call so we ordered one more round. Shortly after those items were delivered, the music was shut off. The TVs were shut off, and the restaurant was essentially closed. We were certainly not the last to leave, but it was obvious that everyone was ready for us to go home. It's a good place to hang out, but don't arrive too close to closing time.

A line to be seated when we walked in on a Friday at 12:30 pm; no worries we didn't wait a minute for our table. Fast, friendly, knowledgeable service. You can't beat the $13.00 lunch special mini veggie pizza with choice of three salads plus a cookie with ice cream is included. My pizza was packed with toppings, not greasy and had a delicious doughy crisp crust. The salad was fresh and crisp with dressing on the side. A BJ draft beer costs $8.00. It was busy but not noisy, sports tvs are on but don't worry it's not loud. This is starting to be a regular lunch place for us and it's consistently getting better.

What happened to BJ's?!? Haven't ordered in a while, but this is was absolutely unacceptable tonight. The poke bowl was a literal joke. The tuna smelled so rank and the avocado was completely black. Basically the "bowl" consisted of wontons and small condiments. See photo. The flat pizza was no better than any cheap frozen one from the grocery store. This was our special takeout of the week and we felt so robbed. I know $47 isn't a lot , but it's basically our entire budget right now. it was microscopic in size and a shameful quality.

3/22/2025 - 3 course prime rib dinner for $35.99! Clam chowder, PR w/veggies & white cheddar mashed potatoes & strawberry shortcake pizookie

I saw how low the stars were for this spot and was actually shocked. I then realized that many of the reviews look to be 10+ years old. I stumbled on this restaurant when I was injured and having to order in for most of my meals. They are just far enough out that they are sometimes free delivery for me. I was pretty amazed that they were VERY consistent with quality and accuracy on delivery. It was a lot of food at very reasonable prices and I was shocked as to how well cooked everything was. They do better than many supposedly higher end restaurants. Just the other night I brought a friend to correct a horrible experience. We'd been craving prime rib and we went to a place in Tigard that wanted $45 for their prime rib. I was served overcooked potatoes and a steak that was severely overcooked {it was not prime rib and so gross}. So we came here with low expectations but were in shock even just looking at the menu that said three course prime rib dinner $35.99... I said to my friend it would not be a challenge to beat the horror show of a meal we were given the other night. We were not prepared for so much food at such a great price. And really great service?!? For $35.99 we both got bowls {big bowls too!} of delicious clam chowder. Asked for crackers that were there in moments! Getting chili was also tempting but the salad option is probably also a good time! The entre was a wonderfully rare piece of well seasoned prime rub with delicious jus and two sides of your choice. I got the veggies which, YUM - perfectly seasoned and crisp done, perfectly cooked. Their white cheddar mashed potatoes are also great - not too much cheese, such a wonderful texture and mouth feel. WOW. And then dessert is a lot of options. I chose the strawberry shortcake pizookie which is like a baked sugar cookie that was so amazing and topped with wonderful vanilla ice cream, strawberries and whip cream. They also have an even better deal for a smaller entre 3 course at like $13! I plan to come here a lot more often.

Hickory brisket and bacon burger (18.99)

I went here with my boyfriend as our Valentine's meal and the food was really good! We left feeling so full and pretty satisfied with the flavors. For a chain/family restaurant, it just seems so expensive, so that's why we took a star away. We got 2 entrees, an appetizer and a beer, but the total came out to around $62. It just seems like so much for a few dishes. Luckily I had a gift card to use, so that helped pay for a majority of the meal, but if I didn't have a gift card, my wallet would definitely hurt coming back. We shared the appetizer, chips and housemade guac and salsa ($9.99). The guac was delicious! The chips were a little on the oily side, but it wasn't so bad. My entree was the shrimp scampi pasta ($24.99) and my boyfriend got the hickory brisket and bacon burger ($18.99). The pasta was a bit too saucy for me and there was too much of a tomato flavor. It was still okay, but I loved the burger!! I wish I got that one. The fries were cooked to perfection and the burger had such a nice bbq flavor to it. So delicious, definitely worth getting again. We were seated right away to a cozy little booth and the server was really attentive and came to check on us often. They were pretty busy on a Sunday night, but we still felt like we were being checked-in with enough times. It might be nice to eat here on a special occasion, but we probably wouldn't come back because of the prices.

One dark sauce tasted almost like molasses, overly sweet and not something you expect with poke. The chili sauce was also too sweet, while the soy-based sauce tasted excessively salty (fish sauce maybe added in it). I added malt vinegar myself just to balance the flavor. Also, it would be nice if the fish was seasoned with salt(or something) to alter the fishy flavor. The Fish & Chips was average at best. The batter was uneven, with some parts way too thick, though the fries were okay. Experience was not horrible, server was nice and ambiance inside is pretty. I just think the kitchen needs real work.

The fries were spiced well, the homemade tartar sauce with dill was excellent. I'm even a fan of the coleslaw: not too thick, fresh ingredients with a light sauce. To maximize our lunch hour, my team decided to place our order online for pick up so that it would be ready by the time we arrived. Ordering online was super easy and I received an itemized receipt by email as well as a text message when our order was ready (all super important aspects to consider when organizing team lunches for work). When my team arrived our pizzas were ready so we were able to select our beverages, grab a table and enjoy. Because we got there shortly after noon, we got our first pick of a table inside, but it filled up soon after. The vibe is very relaxed, super casual, and it has a local neighborhood feel (with TVs and board games available). Now on to the most important part: the pizza is really good! But I can't sit here and pretend the last 60 years or so didn't exist. When New York, New Jersey and Connecticut followed their personal Robert Moses out of the cities and into the suburbs, the pizza shops came with them. To this day, in places like Central Jersey, Western Long Island and Central Connecticut, you'll find decent to spectacular pizza shops deposited in the middle of strip-mall hell within a tight delivery radius of acres and acres of tract housing. In Portland's western suburbs--especially the named communities like Tanasbourne, Greenway, Amberglen, and Progress--this was typically the domain of chains like Schmizza, Fultano's, Bellagio's, Odd Moe's and their national competitors. This, for years, kept me and the family away from Society Pie. Located a couple of blocks from our doctors' offices and hospital, Society Pie is tucked away in the middle of Tanasbourne's own strip mall netherworld and ringed by Elmer's, Peet's, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Killer Burger, Menchie's, P.F. Chang's, Wendy's, and Pizza Hut. We knew that Oregon's suburban strip malls hadn't cultivated promising pizza in our more than a decade here, and we didn't see any reason to believe they were about to start now. But an acquaintance told us to try it once, and made a convincing argument. She pointed to its neighbors at Prime Tap House and Biryani Corner and noted that not only were they producing some of the most interesting menus in the area, but they were succeeding where everyone else had failed. Biryani corner had outlasted at least three other biryani spots in Hillsboro alone, while Prime Tap House's fusion taproom menu proved so popular that it's now in the food court at the Ritz-Carlton. Begrudgingly, we went into Society Pie for lunch and found... slices. Yes, any Schmizza here will give you slices, but it is only recently that Portland independents beyond chains like Sizzle Pie and Hotlips would deign to make some slice pies for the lunch rush. Society Pie clearly knew its audience as well, building drink and salad combos around its slices. We arrived late in the day, so slices were held to plain and pepperoni. No problem. We asked for a slice each and varied the drinks: Some just sodas, me a pilsner. I'll say this now: Getting out of a pizza shop here with a beer and a slice for $9 is a small miracle. Back east, a war crime, but here it's a genuine deal. The $6 for a slice and soda is similarly shocking, even considering the pre-pandemic $5 specials of that kind. And Society Pie's menu is loaded with that kind of local math. As for the slice itself? I can see where the five-star people are coming from, but it's honestly the one place where I'm subtracting anything. The crust is REALLY close, but doesn't quite hold up at the edge. The sauce is just a touch sweeter than comparable places, and the cheese has less consistency than it should. That said, they're the first place I've seen offer classic pepperoni as a default instead of falling into Hormel's cup trap or following Schmizza into the strange world of salami-sized cuts. Is it the best pizza I've ever had? No. Is it the best pizza in the Portland metro? No. Is it the best pizza in Hillsboro? No, but not by a high bar. And that latter bar is what matters here. The owners make it very clear that they genuinely care about the community element of owning a pizza shop, and it's something that the absolute best neighborhood pizza shops both back east and here do incredibly well. Can you call yourself a "neighborhood" place if the neighborhood doesn't come in? Can you say you're connected to the community if they don't see themselves in your space? Does it kill you to turn on a college softball game or a random regional sports event if it helps people feel at home for a minute? Even in a place as outwardly sterile as Tanasbourne (and now Washington Square... -ish), Society Pie serves as a place where people can actually use a pizza place as a neighborhood pizza shop, have full conversations on their lunch hour, take dinners home, or plot out their order for pizza parties. Its menu doesn't expand beyond pizzas, dough-based items (knots and breadsticks) and salads, and the menu offerings (shaved parm? pineapple jalapeno? chicken alfredo?) make the build-your-own option incredibly welcome, but it meets a need. Your neighborhood pizza shop doesn't have to be the best pizza you've ever had in your life. It just needs to be affordable, reliably decent, and consistent. Society Pie fills that niche for the communities it's in, and they're better off for having it. It won't be our spot of choice (just a few miles too far), but we'll be back.
