We first met up with Tom ( the company President and designer), He measured the area, sketched up some drawings and we all discussed what we thought would be fun, great looking and functional. A few days later, he emailed us blueprints and we met again with another designer, craftsmen. We changed our ideas a few times more before coming up with what we decided on. We scheduled a build and they were very good about keeping to their installation date. A well experienced carpenter showed up and within one day had it all installed. The next day the countertop crew came out to measure and laser scan for the corian countertop. A week later that was installed - perfectly.... We had the black subway tiles installed and had a family gathering to show off our "New Wine Bar". It was a huge hit, everyone loved it. What a improvement to our new home. I would totally recommend Charles Cabinets to anyone who wants perfection.

They were professional, they cared about us, they were genuinely interested in how we were going to use the space and what would be best for us, they listened, and they made suggestions. In the end, we have the most amazing kitchen I could ever dream of. It is absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship is A+++++. The kitchen was installed a month ago, and I still marvel at it daily. I don't think I'll ever get tired of it! Their attentiveness to detail is over the top. The cabinets are made perfectly. Every joint is perfect, the stain color is gorgeous, the grain of the wood is amazing. The grain flows from one front of a drawer to the next front of a drawer. It's one big piece of wood! I am super anal and a perfectionist. They are too! I can't say enough good things about Pat and the whole crew there. Knowing what I know now about Charles Cabinets, if they were booked up with work such that I had to wait a year to have them make my cabinets, I would. It would be so worth the wait. If you are at all wondering who you should hire to design and build your cabinets, wonder no more...Choose Charles Cabinets and you won't be disappointed. I would hire Charles Cabinets again in a heart beat... In fact, I'm going to. To make a vanity for the bathroom!

Kristiaan is, hands down, the best contractor you will find in the Twin Cities. My husband was…read morecatastrophically injured in an accident and we were told we need to move somewhere that can accommodate his wheelchair and other disability needs. Very expensive. When we reached out to Kristiaan to ask if he could help us remodel our kitchen, he not only agreed to give us a quote without charge, he also came to our house and taped out the entire design on the floor, no charge. None of the other contractors were willing to put in that kind of time and effort without a guarantee that they would get the job. Kristiaan not only worked with the IKEA plans we had designed, but he further figured out the engineering required to support the large, open span that we had to have suspended over my husband's wheelchair. Everything you see in the photos is brand new and done by Kristiaan. What you don't see is that, on the other side where we already had IKEA cabinets, he moved the entire cabinet run over and built a stabilized support for our new kitchen sink. He also worked with the countertop installers to get us the cutouts that we needed, and recommended the best outlet/lighting system for us. And when IKEA dropped the ball and failed to deliver the promised toekicks, Kristiaan developed a workaround and personally went to IKEA to pick them up for us. A good friend of mine who is a luxury home builder in the Twin Cities said that Kristiaan basically fulfilled the idea of "aging in place" that is extremely popular now. Instead of moving to a "senior" type development, hire Kristiaan instead to make over your current home into your dream home. Disability, aging, or other circumstances don't necessarily mean you have to leave the home you love. Thank you, Kristiaan, for your impeccable work and your incredible decency.

Would highly recommend Kristiaan with Avex Designs! We were able to transform a small southwest…read moreMinneapolis kitchen into an attractive and functional space. Kristiaan was very responsive via email and a huge help in the design process given his knowledge of Ikea's products - we felt very prepared placing our order whereas others in the showroom seemed lost. This is a more cost effective way to remodel, but is not the same as using a general contractor i.e. you have to manage timing in your project for electrical, plumbing, counters, paint. Our installation was timely, professional, and they kept a clean workspace. Great company!

Originally our project was to fully remodel a kitchen and possibly add a soaker tub to a bathroom…read morewith a few possible side projects. But our designer (NOT associated with Titus) dropped the ball and was fired. My time frame was getting smaller so I decided to obtain bids from several companies for the following: Partial kitchen remodel (remove arch wall, add pantry wall with cabinets, install upscale appliances, some new lighting, new gas line for dual fuel stove, remove sliding door to deck and replace with smaller door, install mosaic backsplash, etc...) Due to all of the new electric we also upgraded an electrical panel. New water heater Install water softener Install garage heater 5 new windows Tile laundry room New tub in bathroom (granite countertop was added) Granite countertop in other bathroom (was added) Titus was not the least expensive bid (or the most expensive) but they did give me the best feeling (which I call the warm and fuzzies) that they could and would deliver. Scott Rajavuori was our salesperson / project manager and Greg Clarke was our onsite project foreman. Their cards don't have titles so I am guessing on titles. Scott was great to work with and provided quick and accurate quotes. Greg was awesome to work with and has exceptional skills. He cut a vent hood that goes directly into our angled ceiling so perfectly that we didn't need to have a frame around it. Plus he fixed a few cabinet issues that our designer flubbed. We had a couple of hiccups during the remodel that he handled perfectly. Titus delivered earlier than estimated, even with delays from my wood flooring company that I hired separately. All of their workers were very good and cleaned up at the end of every day. After completion I had a few minor fixes (including a sticking door) and they came right out and fixed them. Strongly recommended - ask for Greg.

Work was to begin on July 12 according to the calendar. Progress was great through demo, rough-in, window installation, drywall , paint priming, wood floor installation and several more steps. It was easy to check off progress against the calendar which was consistently updated. Our "final inspection" date on the calendar was Sept. 14 (serious error on our part, we made the final payment in full on Sept 11, should have held something back). Progress slowed noticeably (whether it was a coincidence that full payment had been made is a good question) and the tradespeople seemed to be busy elsewhere. Steady, predictable progress changed to a string of apologies, excuses and no shows throughout the rest of September and into October. We finally had usable closets, bathrooms and living spaces by October 12. Detail work continues as this is written on October 26 with minor items (floor register covers) yet to finish. We enjoyed working with the individuals at Titus, the crews who worked on our home were friendly and very understanding of changes if we asked of them. The quality of the work was very good. The inconvenience and frustration of considerable unexpected time in a work zone wasn't a good experience.
