This farm was so much fun to visit for an Easter event. My kids got to egg hunt, feed alpacas, play games, and pay a visit to the Easter bunny. The highlight was by far feeding the alpacas. They were gentle, fun for my kids to pet, and a great local experience. The ticket price for the event was somewhat steep in my opinion, but I would pay it again for the amount of fun we had.

This was such a fun experience. The staff was so polite. They briefed us about alpacas and how to approach them. Even provided us with treats (I attended as an guest for a yelp elite event) absolutely enjoyed the time on the barn. It was a beautiful weather too! Everyone was so kind at the barn. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Went for a Yelp Baltimore event but they will definitely have me becoming a regular. Pens were very clean animals, well taken care of eating areas and Staff amazing. 10 out of 10 if anything is making you contemplate not going throw it to the wind and make sure you make your way there.

Beautiful property, very spacious for the animals and for visitors to not be crowded! Totally worth the drive, very friendly staff and the animals are very well taken care of. The place is clean and I would absolutely go back.

The cutest place ever! We came for their pumpkin patch and thoroughly enjoyed it. Got some cute family photos, fed the alpacas, and sat and listened to some great live music. Everyone was super friendly and very excited to have guests stop by. You could feel their pride and joy over their alpacas which was really nice. We even got to watch one of the alpacas jump around in a sprinkler which was adorable. Love the pumpkin photo set ups they had. $10 per person to get in. Free under the age of two. Only complaints was that their hand washing stations had no water & I think their pumpkin prices are a bit high, especially because you can get pumpkins for much cheaper at H‑E‑B but you are supporting a small business!

I am obsessed with Black Barn Alpacas! But let's be honest, who wouldn't be obsessed with a farm full of cute and fluffy alpacas?! Black Barn Alpacas recently opened in Floresville, TX and I have a feeling they will become very popular, very soon. They are one of very few alpaca farms in the country and I love that they are dedicated to raising alpacas with such love and care. The owners Yussy and Travis are absolutely amazing and it is a joy to learn about their mission and how they started Black Barn Alpacas. Yussy is also an interior designer which you can really tell when you take a tour because the barn is absolutely gorgeous and they have some amazing outdoor patio to relax and sip some wine while watching (and petting) the alpacas. During the summer time they are only offering tours during the morning and evenings, but as the weather cools down they will have tours all-day-long. If you decided to visit during the summer, highly recommend getting one of the earliest tour appointments since the weather will be much nicer, and the alpacas will not be running to the barn trying to catch some shade. Can't wait to come back in fall!

Awesome Yelp Elite Event!

Thank you @yelpsanantonio & @mrsfernandafonseca for getting me and the family outside today! @blackbarnalpacas was awesome Shoutout to @thirstyhitch for keeping us hydrated and @theartofdonut for the @blackbarnalpacas is such a cool spot. The family loved getting up and close with the animals and the freedom we were given. They will soon be offering an @airbnb @airbnbsanantonio.texas option on the farm which we would love to try when the time comes. Truly a great event and enjoyed by all who attended. Nothing beats being #yelpelite #alpacaattack Floresville, TX

Love this place!! The alpacas simply make you smile. We enjoyed celebrating my Aunt's Birthday among these incredible animals. Our guide, Tina was awesome! The babies were adorable.

This, BY FAR, was the favorite YES event for the family. Thank you to Black Barn Alpacas, Thirsty Hitch, The Art of Donut, Honey Moon Farms, Yelp, and of course, Fernanda for setting this up. It was definitely worth the drive and the wait to experience this. I have SO many photos and just randomly picked 19 to upload. My hands were full with the kids but I wish I was there with my DSLR and could've gotten so many more photos of the cute alpacas (and the kitty). We got a great behind-the-scenes tour of the farm and what it takes to raise alpacas. All of the alpacas were so cute but of course, we really loved the babies. At times, they were shy, but there were so many strangers to the alpacas, we probably overwhelmed them. To add to the alpacas, we got some alcoholic refreshments from Thirsty Hitch (thanks for the Yelp koozy also), donuts from The Art of Donut, and there was a charcuterie board from Honey Moon Farms. Thanks again to everyone involved for such a great family-friendly YES! event!

We did the farm tour yesterday and loved it. The owner was our guide as we walked around the farm and met the alpacas. It was clear that the animals were very well cared for and loved. He was very friendly and accommodating (we brought our toddler). Beautiful property and sweet animals. Plenty of time to feed them and pet them. Great photo opportunities! We packed a picnic for after the tour and enjoyed it at the tables in the barn. Would gladly return.

My one yr old was excited to feed the alpacas.

We had such a great time. The alpacas were so sweet and beautiful. We will be back soon.

Intimate and fun family experience. The owners are knowledgeable and engaging. They genuinely care about the alpacas...naming each one and having a back story attached to each. Can't wait to go again!

So I recently visited the Black Barn Alpacas and had a fantastic time, this was my first time interacting with these adorable creatures, and I fell in love with the baby alpacas. The barn allows you to feed the alpacas and walk around with them. The barn is modern and immaculate--their staff is constantly cleaning so that everything stays clean throughout the experience. The owners are such nice people and very attentive. If you are looking for fun activities and things to do for all ages, this is the perfect option to bring your family and friends. Definitely, this place could be used for a children's party or event!

Who are these adorable, gentle, soft and playful creatures? We met these gentle friends at Breezy…read moreHill Farm in Woodbine, MD which was about an hour's drive from DC. Alpacas, a member of the camelid family, are smaller and nicer than llamas, a relative. Mainly, they don't spit, at least not intentionally. We found these alpacas to be sweet, soft and silly. It was a little difficult to find the farm. The entrance is not clearly marked and we made at least two wrong forays onto adjacent properties before finding the farm. Once there we were welcomed by Heather, one of the owners, who gave us a brief rundown before introducing us to some of their goats, sheep, turkeys, donkey. She led us to the paddocks where the alpacas were, giving us instructions on how to approach them, how to feed them, how to pet them. Most had been recently shorn and Heather provided us with feed and the alpacas eagerly ate from our outstretched palms. They were soft and plush, the females more delicate eaters and the males (separated in a different area) were gobblers. These are animals, not pets, so while they are gentle, they do have wills of their own. It was a warm day and the alpacas enjoyed a spray from the hose. It was funny to see how excited they were to feed (reminds me of my dogs) and they ran after Heather when she got the food. Afterwards, we went to the barn where Heather, a fiber artist, demonstrated how the alpaca fur can be mixed with other fibers, how the wool is felted, and how it can be spun into yarn. There are textiles, yarn, garments for sale. Reservations are required. Sign up for the first time slot. Our tour ran over by 30 minutes and the next group had to wait. It is a picturesque drive to the farm but keep in mind that it turns into a two lane road through country lanes. We had left plenty of time for the drive but with our misdirected turnarounds and some road construction we ended up cutting it close.

We love this alpaca farm! The tour was personal and we learned so much. You can feed and pet the…read morealpacas. Afterwards you go into the shop and the tour guide can show you how they turn the alpaca fiber into clothes and other things. I would definitely recommend visiting and can't wait to come back!

Ventured here today looking for some fresh fruits and vegetables…read more Was happy with the selection for today. Picked up some yummy fruits and veggies. Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.
