After having a bad experience twice with a young sales ladies at the mall I thought I'd try Black Dog to find a good running shoe. Jenna, I think that's correct, was absolutely beyond helpful. According to my previous review, our first visit to Black Dog was in 2019. We live in NC and buy our shoes in SC. Why? These are the best people ever. Super knowledgeable and helpful. They take their time and are patient. They know the right questions to ask to help you make the right decision on your shoe purchase. You don't have to be a runner to go here. I'm not. I'm attempting to live a more healthy lifestyle and want to ensure a solid foundation. My shoes do that for me and these folks keep me grounded. Paid $170 for on clouds when I returned home they hurt my feet and I needed to size up. Spoke with Manager Kelly for a return label and order in correct size. She did explain the order may take two weeks and a tracking number would be provided. Never received a tracking number. Shoes were delivered but not the shoes I purchased- when I called the store she said they were limited edition and they couldn't get the color I wanted. So she took it upon herself to order shoes I will not wear ( I can order the correct color on the on cloud site) So I called to get a return label for the shoes and asked about a refund- I paid cash - she then asked if I had a receipt??? I went about two times to this store and Dawn was helpful the first time. She knew shoe product knowledge. When I went the second and third time I got the cold shoulder and no interest in helping. My parents went the third time and Dawn was stand offish to my mom. Very dry personality. Since then i had no interest in going there due to lack of customer service. Sad because coming from NYC, you think would get the southern hospitality. Shame you give South Carolina a bad look. read more

The experience I had here was great! I alway struggle with foot pain and Bill (who is awesome) was able to teach me about my walk and what would work best for me to decrease my foot pain! I'm from Pennsylvania and have been down here doing rotations for school when it came up that I needed new running shoes. I'm so used to going to my one little running shop at home, that I really wanted to find that same at-home feel down here. Boy did I find it!! The owner is SUPER helpful (even more so then my place at home). I brought in my old shoes, and he took one look at them and my walk and knew exactly what I needed. My previous place had never pointed out that I have narrow heels, and he found it right away. He helped me find exactly the shoe I needed for this problem along with my high arches and pronation problems (not to mention a cool color!). The shop is neatly set up with all the running merchandise you could need, advertisements for races, unique benches to try your shoes on, and friendly staff! There's a treadmill if you need to try out your new running shoes as well.
