We had our 3 year old son at Montessori Academy of Glen Ellyn (MAGE) and removed him after he came…read morehome with a dislocated arm. We understand accidents happen. However, we were not notified of any injury at the time it occurred or when we picked him up. To this day (weeks later) MAGE has been unable to tell us how or when our son was injured that day. Due to our son's age, he was unable to articulate what happened, but it is obviously unlikely he did this to himself. Due to the lack of information provided by MAGE, the pediatric doctor requested x-rays to eliminate the possibility of a broken bone. After x-rays revealed no broken bones, his arm was adjusted back into place. We were asking for 100% reimbursement of the $530 for the x-rays which was our out-of-pocket after insurance, and MAGE denied our request. We are very dissatisfied with how this was handled.

I'm so disappointed to write this review, but I feel like it is my only option as Prairie School…read morehas not communicated with me in over five weeks. After touring the school, we applied to the pre-k program for early consideration (2/10/25). While communication prior to the tour and the application was quick and helpful, we started to run into problems after our application and fee were collected. To keep this as brief as possible, we reached out regarding timing of the decision on applications three times (both by email and phone call) to finally be responded to nearly five weeks past the first email. Once we received notification that we were placed on a waitlist and "...should a space in the class become available, the enrollment committee will ensure that your application receives thorough consideration..." we had a couple clarifying questions regarding the waitlist and the review process (as it is worded, it sounds as though our application was not even reviewed). We have not heard back from the school in five weeks. We have tried multiple email addresses, including the enrollment coordinator we had been communicating with, in addition to calling the school. Unfortunately, my experience with Prairie School is this: To apply, a family must dedicate time to attend a tour, complete a lengthy application, and pay a $150 non-fundable fee to ultimately not even have your application reviewed (which leads me to wonder what the fee is for, if not payment for the time/resources it takes to review a family's application). Additionally, the school does not respond to questions regarding the application process once your payment is made. As I'm writing this it sounds so wild! I would not recommend looking into this school.

I've dealt with multiple bad experiences and they always try to make it seem like the students are crazy even though we are truly saying the truth. I've been trying to go back to my normal school for 4 years and they never give me a reason why I can't go back. I've improved that im mentally good I proved that Ive stayed out the break-room Ive proved them wrong and they just wont let me mainstream for some reason all they want is the money the school pays them. This school is horrible. All they care about are test scores. My child has been there for almost 2…read moreyears and I have had nothing but problems. Last year my child was bullied and it took the school almost all year to get it to stop. I was on the phone almost everyday and at the school at least once a week just trying to get them to do something about it. It crushed my child's confidence. Well, this year started out better but soon I realized how much nothing had changed. I went on conference night and stopped by the art room to talk to the teacher about my child's grade. Right off the bat she was extremely rude. As she was talking to me in front of my children and husband so rudely I offered to come back another day. Nope... She felt the need to keep talking to me like a snotty teenager in front of my child (her student)... How professional. We then went in the office and talked to the assistant principal because of course the principal wasn't there on parent teacher conference night. The art teacher then said to my husband "What do you think about how your wife is talking to me?" SERIOUSLY???? She should be a manager at Wal-Mart with the way she talks to people!!! I called the superintendent the following day. Of course the principal claimed I lied about everything. What do I have to gain from lying about this??? Then the principal brought up the bullying situation from last year only she said "last year we worked together to get your child to do their work..." NO NO NO!!!! We were not trying to get my child to do their work... Maybe she needs to read the notebook I have full of notes from my child's teacher last year explaining every bullying situation. Nice try covering that up. I currently am trying to get my child transferred. Stay away. Worst school ever.

Point of view for every grade…read more In sixth grade it's slow dragged out and boring. The teachers are neutral but it depends what side you decide to get on for them. It's the best grade there is but that's it a compliment. Seventh grade This grade is a train wreck from many angles. The teachers can be really strict and snap on out for no reason but to do it. Every quarter there's a reward for "skills" but they went beyond doing four they did about 10 and it got washed out and annoying. Eighth grade The grade is filled with expectations and lost assignments. The teachers are average to good but a small percentage of them can be hypocritical strictish and abusing of their power. But the assignments are kinda pointless but to only help prepare for high school. The students are average and the grades that they get are good the school can teach kids but In a inefficient way but the students are the best part of the school with most of them in above average classes.

I have been in here twice during lunch time and it's not for the faint of heart. I've been in many middle school/junior highs and I just had to write about this one. Give the kids some room already!

We have been a member since we were married there in 1991 and had both our daughters baptized here. The Pastoral staff are accessible and always willing to listen or pray with anyone who asks. Contemporary worship services at 11 am Sunday services are always very uplifting.
