They had a truck out to me within the hour like they said and the tow truck driver Dominic was both polite and professional. We just had a severe and rare snowstorm here in Olympia and my car was stuck halfway up my long, steep & slippery driveway. GEICO's roadside assistance team said they couldn't send a tow truck for 24-48 hours. I looked at Yelp and Black Lake Towing was well recommended. I called owner Brandon at 6:30 am and they were just opening for the day, he said the could reach me first call, and arrived a little over an hour later. They were extremely knowledgeable, courteous, told me the cost upfront and got to work. They pulled me out and I was back on the road in 30 minutes. I got my Volvo SW stuck in a ditch while driving in the Capital Forest. I called the roadside service provided by my insurance company and waited... and waited, and finally called and was informed the company they dispatched was unable to do that service. Fortunately a passerby informed me that Black Lake Towing habitually work the forest roads. Quick call and exchange of information, I made the decision to cancel the folks the insurance company called and got Black Lake rolling to me. Dominic was the operator dispatched and he made direct contact with me to effect link up. He was very helpful with providing me with clear instructions on how to use various apps to send him my location and situation. When there was a glitch, he was able to flex to another solution seamlessly and effectively. Dominic arrived well earlier than I had anticipated and quickly and effectively towed my car out of the ditch. Overall very happy with the service. Highway Robbery. That's what it is. Should be criminal to take advantage of desperate people like that. Needed a jump start, unable to get a hold of any neighbors for help, call them thinking I can bite the bullet. $20 would have been reasonable; $30 would have been somewhat understandable. No, these people charged me a $75 "Towing" charge for a jumpstart that took the guy all of 5 minutes AND he got the benefit of learning how to even give a Prius a jump in the first place. I'll say it again for emphasis, criminal enterprise, highway robbery. They should be ashamed of themselves. read more
