Rarely get a chance to come here cause of distance from where I live but decided to make a stop today and they didn't disappoint! Wasn't too sure what to get and wanted to try something different from my previous visits. So when pulling up to the drive thru I asked for recommendations based off what I typically like for my coffee. I don't know where to start. The girls here made me feel so bad. I'm Hispanic and the moment they saw me they mad sure I knew I was a different race. They made me get down so they could take my order when I was speaking English and they laughed once I walked into the shop. I don't understand why they feel it's to treat colored ppl so wrong. Went thru the drive thru Saturday late morning. There were no cars in drive thru. I asked if we could do separate orders and they said no. I don't understand why as I mentioned no cara in drive thru. Updating my review the last few times I've been here I've notice the service and quality has been going downhill. My most recent trip yesterday I ordered a large Mexican mocha chiller. The drink was not the usual consistency and I asked the employee the drive through if this drink was a chiller. She replied "yes" didn't ask if there was an issue or offer to remake my drink. I did get this drink for free because of my rewards. Definitely don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. Sad because I was so excited when they first opened up. read more

I come here religiously. Their iced americano has the best deep espresso flavor. They use less water & syrups don't cost extra like at other places. Suuuper reasonable prices & amazing tasting coffee. Also the staff is so nice! They also have a dope rewards program. Absolutely love Black Rock Coffee Bar! I came here with initial curiosity because the location itself was new to the area and I wanted to give it a try since I do work remotely and am looking for places to have some coffee and work from. This place did not disappoint! I get pretty basic iced Americanos at any coffee shop I go to and this one is easily better than Starbucks and other local coffee shops I've been to nearby especially for the price since a medium is around $3 here and they have loyalty points so I can get a free drink soon enough. It also seems like they always have deals going on and $3 barista favorites! The atmosphere is super nice; the music can get loud but I enjoyed what they were playing so I didn't mind and it was also something I solved by just putting in my earbuds. The wifi runs great which is important for me and the staff are always super attentive/friendly and seem to be on their feet all the time! The main reason why I wanted to leave a review was due to all the negative bees reviews I found on here. I was there on a day where the bee activity was a bit higher. There was indeed a lot of bees but the staff opened doors and were proactive about the issue. One customer complained and was annoyed but the staff member who he complained to was friendly and said they were working on getting the issue solved which is understandable since its not something that can be solved quickly. Pictures were taken of the bees (I'm assuming to contact pest control or the city workers) and I think they handled the situation well! Lastly, the location is always clean: tables, floors and bathrooms! I highly recommend Black Rock Coffee and will be getting coffee here on the regular! read more

This place has a really friendly staff. The drinks are pretty decent too. However, they have a big honeybee problem, that they seem to not care about. There is a table closer to the window that has the most amount of bees nearby. The floor underneath the table has a bunch of dead bees - that are there every single day. They either don't seem to want to clean it up, or their bee problem is so bad that they have that many bees coming in and later dying there. Before, I only noticed it around that table - but when I recently went there, there were bees (at minimum 10) around that table in addition to other tables. There was also a bee flying around where the staff was working. I'm not exaggerating about this - and you can see below other people have posted relating to this issue. I've also attached pictures below. You can always go and visit them to see for yourself and risk getting stung! I won't be going back here. Pros: this place has a great coffee, the staff are nice and make coffee stupid fast Cons: working on hw or work at the shop is nearly impossible. Music inside is way too loud. First of all, I tried to reach the store (only a recording that said to text) and had no response - sent several texts. I've never left a bad review, but here I go: I really love their coffee, however, I placed an order over Google DoorDash and it was estimated to be 10 maybe 15 minutes - no problem...after 30 minutes of waiting, the store claimed their machines were broken and they would get it ready really quickly...Hmmm... after almost 40 minutes I said we had to leave and I wanted a refund - they said we had to contact the vendor / The vendor says we have to contact the store... endless loop. I understand this happens but just know if something goes wrong you'll never hear from them again - NO response. Come on Blackrock you can do better!! read more

I wouldn't recommend sitting indoors if you're trying to get any work done or read. Most cafes play music and that's totally fine, but this one loves to blare it like you're at a rave. I have to say I had really high expectations for this place. There were such great recommendations from the Phoenix location I had to try it and was excited for it to be in Tucson. First off walking in atmosphere looked great the place looked like it was set up very well. We ordered our drinks sat down. I had a baby with me and went to the bathroom to use a changing table but there was no changing table in either bathroom. I ended up going to the car. When we came back in, we went to sit down and then started to notice how hot it was in the store. It seems like they didn't have the air conditioning which seems to be unacceptable in Tucson when it's over 90° outside. As I was looking around I noticed all the workers didn't look even look like they worked there. Everyone except 1 person had their hair down and a couple of them were running their fingers through their hair as they were serving drinks and pastries. Not a single worker had a mask on and no one seemed to even have an apron on. It just seems like a bunch of sorority girls working in the back in whatever clothes they normally would work out in. There was also cartons of milk all over the counters just sitting out. Isn't milk supposed to be refrigerated? Especially in a place that was so hot! It just felt like kinda careless. It's like food safety wasn't a thing! AND It wasn't just that. As we turned around to look at their nice windows we noticed a lot of bees just all over the corner hovering at the windows and at some potted flowers. There had to be at least 20 bees just buzzing around inside. It was just very strange to see so many red flags in a brand new place. It just made the atmosphere feel weird. It's decent. They seem to be going consistently downhill in quality every time I go. I once got a hair in my drink so that was real nice. I only go here because it's close by and convenient.
