I enjoyed walking the sunken garden and exploring the many rooms. I think my favorite was the theater room. I wish I could have spent all day and watched all the available shows you can select to watch on the big screen. Very well done museum.

After paying our admission, we were directed to the beginning of the self guided tour. We met another friendly staff member who provided quite of lot of insight to Will Rogers' life and history. We went through several rooms, some had monitors playing old movies and historical stories. The theater room allows you to choose from several different shows from various perspectives on Will Rogers' life. One show was narrated by Bob Hope. Will and his family are interned on the premises outside and the location allows you to take in the overall beauty of the land. They have a nice resting place. We concluded our tour. You have the option of visiting the gift shop before you leave for any souvenirs you may desire to purchase.

Previously we…read morehad an inground shelter in the garage and as we got older, it was a chore getting down quickly especially with 3 dogs in tow. We had enough room for an above ground shelter. Our remodeling contractor recommended the FamilySafe as a good alternative. I did my research and it can withstand F4 & 5 hits, some pictures in their publicity showing a flattened house with the Family Safe intact. It's construction is very solid, thick steel, reinforced doors interior metal bracing, similar to thick roll bars. It can comfortably handle both of us, the dogs, and survival equipment including chairs. An added bonus is that you can have electric light with additional socket installed. Great if you need to charge your cell or weather radio. One of the smartest decisions we made.

She was knowledgeable and very, very nice. She took us over to the fire museum (part of the main museum), unlocked it for us, and gave us a personal tour. We then went back to the main museum building and were amazed by all the themed rooms and the displays within them. You can really tell they are passionate about their town and its history. Located right at the entrance to Oral Roberts University, the sculpture is absolutely massive--60…read morefeet tall and made of bronze, with an incredible level of detail. The hands are cast in a gesture of prayer, fingers gently interlaced, and they sit in a beautifully landscaped area with benches and open space for reflection. One hand was actually modeled after Oral Roberts himself and the other from his son, which makes it feel all the more personal and symbolic. Even our kids were impressed, and they don't always get excited about statues! It's also completely free and easy to access, with parking close by and no crowds when we visited. Definitely one of the more unique and spiritual landmarks we've seen on our trip. Whether you're on a Route 66 journey, exploring Tulsa, or just looking for something different and meaningful, the Praying Hands is a must-see. Quiet, grand, and deeply moving.
