My Disappointing Experience with Planet Fitness in Quincy, IL…read moreWhen Planet Fitness first opened in Quincy, IL, I thought it would be the perfect gym for me and my family. I immediately signed up for three gold memberships, excited about the facilities and the convenience. Even though the massage beds and lounges were frequently out of order, I remained patient, understanding they were a new business with a few learning curves. Despite these issues, I truly enjoyed being a member. Nearly a year later, I had to relocate to another state. With the move, I needed to cancel two of the memberships until we got settled in our new location. I trusted the cancellation process was handled, as discussed with the gym manager. It wasn't until two months later that I realized I was still being billed for one of the memberships. When I contacted the manager again, he admitted he wasn't sure why the second membership hadn't been canceled. Despite knowing it should have been, he was unwilling to refund me the $58 charged for the unused membership. I even requested the district manager Robin's contact information, but I was told that she would have to call me. To this day, I have not received that refund or the promised follow-up call. We are now settled in our new state and ready to join a new gym, but Planet Fitness will not be the gym we join. They lost two loyal customers. I'm disappointed not only with how the cancellation was handled but also with the lack of follow-through from their management. You may have taken our $58, but you've lost the ongoing loyalty of two customers who would have gladly paid $58 a month for years to come. Planet Fitness, do better. THE RESPONSE PROVIDED IS UNTRUE AND LIES!!! IT IS A GENERIC RESPONSE TO TRY AND TRICK ME AND OTHERS INTO BELEIVING THEY WERE ONLY FOLLOWING CONTRACT - I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE EVEN TALKING ABOUT - ONE CONTRACT CANCELED AS REQUESTED (NO MORE CHARGES OR FEES) - THE OTHER CONTRACT CANCELATION FAILED TO BE PROCESSED - WE CONTINUED TO BE CHARGED THE SAME MONTHLY PREMIUM, BY ERROR, $29 A MONTH UNTIL WE CALLED AND TOLD THEM WE WERE STILL BEING CHARGED (2 MONTHS OF MEMBERSHIP CHARGES) - THE MEMBERSHIP WAS CANCELED AND NO LONGER CHARGED - NOTHING CHARGED FOR BUYOUT OR EARLY CANCELATION - THE BELOW RESPONSE ALL LIES TO AVOID ACCOUNTABILITY - I EVEN HAVE THE PRINTOUT THAT CLEARLY STATES MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP CHARGE -
