This Japanese hair salon is in the CBD and keeps their clients happy and their hairdressers relatively busy. I've now been there twice: each visit with a different hairdresser and have come out a happy camper. The second time around, I knew I could just pick up one of the magazines and point at it and let the stylist know what I was looking for. Taka, who is a manager stylist and unfortunately has moved up to Brisbane, takes great care when snipping away. You're definitely safer off with a manager stylist, which is worth the extra cost as the prices there are rather wallet-friendly. Customer service there is fantastic! It probably has a lot to do with the (Japanese) culture but from the point of entering ("Konichiwa!!") until when they see you off at the door, they're there mindfully doing their job well. Also, they've got promos like "happy hour" where it's 20% off M-F before noon and others that are released through their newsletters, as well as others like friend referrals. Crispin took the like to listen carefully to what I wanted, he was thorough and went above and beyond to make sure I walked out happy. Not only are the staff welcoming, their work outstanding but the salon charges affordable prices. I paid $160 for half a head of foils and a trim. This is seemingly unbelievable in this day and age where it's unusual to pay less that $200! Great little salon, highly recommend!

Perfect haircuts. Every time. They give you a beautiful head massage with cuts, and if you get colour, also a hand massage. I have been coming here since I was a teen. Beautiful, clean, modern salon. Two levels, large mirrors, the lighting isn't that flattering but they need to see your hair colour properly. Never had a bad experience. The basins are fairly comfy for basins. I like the chairs they have at the mirrors - comfy. Though your butt can get numb if you're there for a colour and cut and have long hair but that's to be expected. With plenty of mags, and an assortment of beverages and biscuits. Now lets not tip toe around the mulberry bush - this is a very expensive salon. Haircuts start at $100 for women and $80 for men - and this is for a stylist. Yes, as you go up experience the price increases all the way to a master stylist at $140 for women and $120 for men. The only thing that does get my goat is when you pay over $100 for a a haircut and the hairdresser doesn't blow-dry or straighten/curl it, an apprentice does. They do a good job, but still. They use Adveda products that smell amazing. Soft product push - just tell them you have enough at home or a no thanks. The staff are mostly friendly, though some aloof and might I say stuck up.
